I agree Steve, as long as he plays week in week out to his potential :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I tend to agree too. Yes, he can be brilliant and extremely effective in the Championship, but only when he can be bothered. Listen there is no question about how talented he is as a footballer but he is far too inconsistent for me and he goes missing to regularly. He sometimes does come across as being a passenger in the side. The reason he is still with us is because nobody will take a chance on him as he is not consistent enough and that is why he is still here not because he has been turning down clubs left, right and centre. He does not score the goals or provide the assists as regularly as he used to anymore. I know some people will say its because Malky was playing him deeper but even when Dave Jones was here he was the same, apart from that stand out season where he scored 25 goals for us. He was extremely poor during Jones' final season. Personally, i just feel that we need a midfielder who is more commited and consistent than Whitts next season, in our Starting XI. Don't forget he has been hit and miss now for a few seasons. I have got nothing personal against him as he has won us games on his own in the past and he will always be a Bluebirds legend. I just feel that we need new blood in our midfield next season. I would prefer for us to sign Adam Clayton from Huddersfield and pair him with Mutch in the centre of midfield in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 with Clayton, Mutch & Daehli in a triangle with Daehli behind the front three. We have Daehli now who i feel is going to be much better than Whitts, and he can be our creative midfielder, making assists and scoring goals for us. Also, Daehli is a much harder worker and commited player than Whitts. Listen, im not saying that we should sell Whittingham, i just don't think that he should be in our starting XI, week in and week out. To get out of this division next season then we are going to need our most consistent players playing regularly and i just do not think that Whitts is one of those consistent enough players.

Bloooooobirds.

Troobloo you're talking nonsense. Whittingham is quality.

Whitts is one of our top 3 players, no way he is leaving. He is going to be in team of the year next season mark my words!

my reasons
1 age
2 too slow
3 wages
whitts is not getting any younger ole seems to prefer younger hungry players
whitts definatly is pace less again ole likes quick players
whitts wages seems to of gone under the radar with people on here ,,as a more senior player im sure he would be on very good wages ,,don't forget every time he was linked with another club he was given a new contract
imo hes been in a comfort zone for many seasons now
some on here think that it was down to loyalty what a load of shit and total bollocks imo
just shows his lack of ambition and proves he was very well off financialy with us
the way oles going about building our new more cost effected squad makes me believe whitts will go
I think kimbo will also go due to his wages and his inaffective showings to date again not a ole type player :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :ole: :ole: :ole: :ole: :ole: :ole: :ole:

whitts absolutely loves the cardiff city and living in penarth, I know that first hand.
I know it must be hard to comprehend in todays game but some players do still hold strong loyalties to their clubs and whitts is one.
When he's been dropped his he's worked his socks off and came back stronger.
Playing out of position under malky he couldnt find consistency, but he's spent practically 7 years battling in that midfield to try and get us to the prem so the fact you can question he's loyalty after so many years of service to this club is a complete disgrace.

the guys a true pro and cardiff through and through and i hope he stays another year to help us out again
