I think Argentina...

It hasn't been held there since 1978. The world is a very different place now with luxury travel and accommodation for players along with the best training facilities.

I think it's absolutely wide open and honestly can't call it. Could be a time for an outsider to come through and win it.

So where is Mexico (1986) has it moved? :thumbright:

No it's still in north america

Belgium for me. I read a brilliant piece about Belgian football in the Guardian on Saturday. About 12 years ago they decided to completely overhaul the domestic system to help the National team. They rolled out the following blueprint to EVERY non-pro team from kids through to adults:

* Kids started off play 2v2 games with a focus on dribbling and diagonal passing.
* Tackling frowned upon - only allowed to intercept or pre-empt where the ball would be
* When old enough to play 11-a-side ALL teams to play 4-3-3.
* Every team's aim was possesion - a target of 70% was seen as the benchmark.

They finally saw results in school teams playing in Europe and stuck with it. To hammer the rules home they sent 150 trained advisors around the country to make sure teams were all following the rules accurately. The national teams coach even watched extended highlights of 150 club teams and made notes of ways they needed to change to stick to the blueprint.

For a country of 11m people to be 5th favorites for the World Cup is pretty impressive. Even more impressive when you think 8 years ago they were ranked 66th in the world 25 places lower that Wales are now!!!!
