A good player without being spectacular. Had one or two VERY good games at Championship level and from time to time put in some excellent crosses. I wish him well, but Fabio and John are clearly ahead of him now. No doubt he'll play a blinder against us !

An all round good guy and let's face it compared to some players we have had over the last 5 or 6 years a model professional. Signing Fabio was probably the writing on the wall and as he still had 2 years left on his contract, in my opinion, this can only be about his wages and OGS trying get some control over what is being paid to some players. I also believe this is just the start when it comes to shipping players out with a surprise or two still to come.


I wish him well and thank him for his efforts whilst at our club.

Yes a 2 year contract extension taking him up to July 2016.

Malky was a big fan so I bet he got a big pay rise. Getting him off the wage bill is a positive step.

I really think that has a lot to do with it together with maybe OGS not liking what he has seen.

He really is a shocking defender. I don't know why people are saying he was very good in our promotion season. I remember large parts of the season Conway had to cover him most of the match.

He was poor in the prem but very consistently good in our promotion season. Not sure why people say John is a lot better than him at LB. John is a winger. Not defensively good enough to be LB.

I agree that Taylor was consistently good in the Championship and he also didn't pick up any injuries or suspensions, in fact he only missed 5 games through injury in the whole time he was with CCFC (thigh knock April 2014) and no suspensions throughout his career. Nathan Blake regularly raved about his play in the Championship as he always put in a good shift and was a bit of an unsung hero working hard off the ball (the type of industrious player Malky likes). However, the Premier was a step to far. John in comparison is not the finished article, but with his pace and attacking flair has the potential to be a very good LB and age is on his side. Therefore, I think that John will perform to a similar or better ability than Taylor for probably a lot less money (due to his age) and with his potential and young age will only increase in value.

I should have looked at performance data per club which lists the one double yellow he had that you mentioned against Hull.

I cannot comment on taylors ceiling but im led to believe he is a big fan of statement wallpaper on his fireplaces

I believe this phenomena is called a 'feature wall' . Several of my friends have it ( all 3 of them ) and I always thought they were just too lazy to do the whole room .

Really glad he's gone I have nothing against him but I think is main contribution was in the dressing room as he seemed close to the former manager and players. Lacked pace and tenacity and our left side always seemed the weaker defensively when he played. Good luck to him because he always came across well in interviews but I would rather an outstanding defender who's a bit of a knob anyday

Need fast and attacking full backs if we want to play Ole's way.

He was an important part of Malky's team, and did well when we won the Championship by eight points. So, on that basis, thanks Andrew, and all the best for the future. Decent player, and a nice bloke.

I agree - yes he lacked a bit of pace but I felt he always put a shift in, and a lot of criticism he got was from the same people calling Huds a donkey every other week, then calling him the best CB in the Championship!

Gave his all, was a worker with a decent left foot - Left back is one of the hardest positions to fill properly, and we've had an issue there for some time before Tayls turned up.

I believe that whatever deal we did for selling Taylor to Wigan, that it was more than likely to be in the best overall interest of the club - and, lets not forget, the player as well with Fabio and John plus Super Kev in the squad.

Thank you Andrew Taylor - top bloke who always thought of the crowd, and for me made a connection with us.

Makes sense to get Taylor off the payroll if he isn't what Ole is looking for, we not going to get that much for him so let's hope Wigan is one of the teams that gets promoted with us. Ole more than likely got someone lined up so IMO good decision by Ole

Yep I think the club has done some good Business so early on in the window credit must also go to Mehmet Dalman and Simon Lim.

Some of your comments typify you so called fans you haven't got a clue Ie how much is or was Taylor on and how much is Fabio on get a grip

He was good in the championship but solsjaer wants to build his own team. Fair play.
