For me (A city fan since 1969) The OP is right on most of his points.

If fans like me stopped going wearing our blue, there would be no 19:27 protest and our club would easily stay red forever. Do you think fans like me are going to just sit back, give up and allow that to happen? Don't you dare say I'm a hypocrite! I go to games to protest first, to try and get back the club I once fell in love with and to support the team second. Not much to be confused about there and fortunately, our fans are finally starting to wake up. You obviously don't like it, but the reality is the majority of our fans gave Tan a chance and initially backed him, Tan has failed to stick to his promises, going from converting our entire debt to equity to only 33% of our debt to equity. Fans have got fed up of being blackmailed with Tan's deceiving, lying money and the majority of our fan base have now decided enough is enough and are protesting to get our blue back. Deal with it!

There is the truth. Some got very short memories. I would say 100% want blue and badge back some make more noise than others. The noisiest for some reason think they're better.

Cardiff City and Vincent Tan – where do we go from here?


Vincent Tan. The most hated man in Cardiff. The most loved in Swansea. Adored across Malaysia, hated across the UK. Unfortunately, it looks like Cardiff City are stuck with him. But what could he do? What next for Vinny?

1.He sells up.

In all honesty, this is my favoured option. He’s turned Cardiff City into a completely unrecognisable entity. The kit has gone, the fan base has been torn apart and he’s offended all with a huge lack of respect for the traditions of this football club. He’s taken us further into debt, though he promises to turn around a third of this into equity, and the club’s finances are as perilous as ever.

Him leaving would give us a fresh start and a chance to go back to blue. But how likely is it? Unless we find a seriously rich benefactor who can buy him out and have enough cash left over to run the club. Do get in touch now.


2.He changes to kit back to blue.

But people cannot see past the offensiveness of his rebrand. Returning us to blue would go some way to repair the damage he has caused. Though I fear too much has happened for many to return.

I admire your stance in refusing to go to the stadium while Mr Tan had anything to do with it. Because be fair he's persecuted almost every nation you can mention. Where have I claimed I was better than anyone else?

Fans like me are now the majority, putting the history, local pride, tradition, identity and heritage of our club before Tan's money. If all our fans protesting for blue stop going to games, we will be left with a red football club. Myself and every other City fan wearing blue and holding up our blue scarves at 19:27 aren't willing to let this happen.

For you to call me a hypocrite is actually suggesting you're calling yourself a better fan than me. Well, if you're going to allow yourself to be bribed with Tan's money while he destroys the soul our football club, I say myself and every City fan protesting to save our identity are better fans than you.

1.He sells up.

In all honesty, this is my favoured option. He’s turned Cardiff City into a completely unrecognisable entity. The kit has gone, the fan base has been torn apart and he’s offended all with a huge lack of respect for the traditions of this football club. He’s taken us further into debt, though he promises to turn around a third of this into equity, and the club’s finances are as perilous as ever.

Him leaving would give us a fresh start and a chance to go back to blue. But how likely is it? Unless we find a seriously rich benefactor who can buy him out and have enough cash left over to run the club. Do get in touch now.


2.He changes to kit back to blue.

This is my second choice. Vincent Tan would be a hero if he hadn’t changed the badge and kit. It destroyed all credibility he had as owner of our football club.

He’s done some good in his time at the club; overseeing players like Caulker and Medel come in, financed a promotion and a stadium expansion. But people cannot see past the offensiveness of his rebrand. Returning us to blue would go some way to repair the damage he has caused. Though I fear too much has happened for many to return.


3.He stays. And so does the red.

This is, unfortunately, the most likely option. He’s invested too much to walk away now and he is too deep to give up on his project. We are his play thing and he’s going to play at promotion again. Fans will continue to protest/reluctantly accept the red and the club will stay a mess. His talk of compromise will never materialise and we will stay in debt.

I don't always agree with Forever Blue (or anyone else for that matter) but I respect where he (and others) are coming from

I think you'll find that whoever put the OP up (and it could have been ANY of the Mods on this forum, including me to be honest) did so with the sole purpose of "informing" members what is being said/written about Cardiff City FC and its associations in the Press

IF (and it's a pretty rare thing these days) there is any 'alternate' news to the "same old, same old" rebrand stuff, then I am confident that it will also be posted on this Forum

Unlike some, I am able to see things from BOTH sides at this moment in time. Some would childishly say that makes me a 'fence-sitter', but the truth is that it makes me pragmatic enough to see where this club might have been WITHOUT Tan's investments, but disappointed enough in him (Tan) to WANT a return to Blue

I will agree though (as Forever Blue does, ironically) that "there is a way" to get the Blue back and that, for me, is via the continuation of wearing blue at the CCS

The current "Hate Tan for everything" tactics of those who cannot differentiate between the Blue issue and the well-being of the club as a whole will only lead to further disruption and in-fighting (as befits certain members agendas)

Separate the two (rebrand and best interests of Cardiff City FC) and a far more cohesive approach can be achieved (minus the perennial mischief makers of course)

Unlike some, I am able to see things from BOTH sides at this moment in time. Some would childishly say that makes me a 'fence-sitter', but the truth is that it makes me pragmatic enough to see where this club might have been WITHOUT Tan's investments, but disappointed enough in him (Tan) to WANT a return to Blue

I will agree though (as Forever Blue does, ironically) that "there is a way" to get the Blue back and that, for me, is via the continuation of wearing blue at the CCS

The current "Hate Tan for everything" tactics of those who cannot differentiate between the Blue issue and the well-being of the club as a whole will only lead to further disruption and in-fighting (as befits certain members agendas)

Separate the two (rebrand and best interests of Cardiff City FC) and a far more cohesive approach can be achieved (minus the perennial mischief makers of course)

what two sides Sven...................to me its people who WANT blue back at all costs including Tan out.......the other side people that WANT blue back but not at the cost of endangering the club in any way { financially }
