If the reserves were put out then the defence in front of him is worse. Even better record then.

 he has a similar record in the premier league.

im not arguing, im just laughing at you suggesting he shouldn't be a pro keeper while holding such a good record.

Marshall over priced in opinion of swans fans? mmmm a player is worth what someone is willing to pay? look at Sinclair other season he wasn't worth 15million but man city payed that, and swans saying great business for them! ffs hypocrites as usual ! :old:

Not necessarily as the fixtures would be against lesser teams with less potent attacks

Who is prepared to pay 15m then?

We had 7.2 m for Sinclair and 15m for Allen who is looking every bit the part and still getting better.Marshall is a very good keeper but the amount of shots he had to save last season with your poor defence i think most keepers worth their salt would have saved and looked good in the process. There's no way he's worth 15m as a championship player. If you'd have stayed up then you might have got upto 10-12m for him in my worthless opinion.

Good buy for Swansea though, just not an improvement or even like for like, especially if the defence is weakened with the sale of Williams.

Thing is the reason Fabianski has left Arsenal and gone to Swansea is because he wants first team football. He would not get that at Liverpool. I am convinced he will be Swansea #1 next season, otherwise he would not have made the move.

This thread is silly. The majority of Swansea fans have not been at all impressed with Vorm this season. He has not been the same player since his injury.

Most have also been very complimentary about Marshall. Personally I haven't seen much of him but I do wonder if part of the reason he looks so good is cos Cardiff are so shit - more opportunities to look good.

No way yes he head more shots to save but you still got to save them at the end of the day. The quality of his saves was evident in every match which if done by a top keeper would be raving about them. Yes £15 million is a steep price but if a club is willing to pay it then so be it just like with Liverpool and Man City both paying those over the top prices for Allen and Sinclair. I think we will get £10 million tops mind.

He's a top keeper, no question and had a great season although conceding more goals than any other keeper in the league. But 15m for that and a championship player is well over priced. You may well get it but i can't think of a club who'd want to change their keeper and spend 15m in doing so.

He played 32 in the premier league with 11 clean sheets and less than a goal a game conceded. He also played many prem teams in the cup... Yet his record stays pretty constant.

Fabianski makes Swans switch on 08:26 - May 29 by TheFranchise

Looks like Vorm to Liverpool for £4m.

Reckon its an upgrade if Vorm continued to play like he did last year,

Possibly a downgrade from Vorm of 2 seasons ago

Can't see Liverpool buying Vorm. He simply isn't good enough for Liverpool. I can't see them signing him even as a number two as they already have two better keepers.

He will be their 2nd Keeper nothing more. I think it says more they would rather spend £4 million on Vorm than get Fabianski on a free for cover.

True but I would have thought he would have wanted a number 1 shirt before now. He's been with Arsenal since 2007 and always been a reserve keeper but now he wants to go for a number 1 spot. As I said it's a shrewd signing for the jacks but I have never rated him honestly.

Maybe he was aiming to get the number 1 jersey at Arsenal & has now realised he can't & wants 1st team football at the age he is.

Who knows. It's a good deal. If they sell Vorm for 4mil & get a keeper of similar stature in for free, good business for them.

Arsenal fans seem to suggest he is a superb keeper. And annoyed he is gone.

Won't Marshell be something like the 3rd most expensive keeper in history if he goes for 15m? I think that could be a good gauge to judge if he's overpriced or not. Doesn't mean he's not good but 15mil is a hell of a wedge especially for a keeper.

I suppose another way to look at it is, would we be happy if Ole bought Marshall for £15 M. I suppose we would all be a bit shocked would we not?

On the same token we would probably be happy to buy Ashley Williams for £3 M.

Clearly Marshall is over priced at £15 M, but this doesn't mean to say someone won't pay it. All comes down to "opportunity cost", and availability of other goalkeeping alternatives.

Yes I would like to keep him but 4 mill and a top international keeper coning in on a free is nit to bad.

How is fabianski a top class international keeper hes 4th choice for poland ffs
