Opinions please

None of us wanted Malky at the time annis and I can remember this board being totally underwhelmed by his appointment after all what had he achieved before he came to us.
Got to give ole a chance because make no mistake about it a poor start and he will be gone as it's promotion or nothing this year.
Tue May 27, 2014 7:37 pm
I'm sure if my memory serves me right, a large section of our support weren't fully convinced with Malky's appointment and look how that turned out. Some believe him to be the 'second coming'. Ole will leave this club a god.

Just get behind the man and the club. Fickle agendas aside, the team are going to need our full support next season. It's just a colour and while there is still air in the clubs lungs, let it breath and try not to suffocate it.

Ole has a plan,

Keep The Faith,IN

If it was Malky no one would care, people see Ole as Tan's man and have an agenda against him.

Nothing to do with his ability just a form of loyalty to the previous regime.
He was Tans poster boy despite him being Dalmans choice.
He deserves a chance and a fair crack of the whip.
This is the sensible thing I've seen on here for a while

I'm not saying ole is the right man here just sayin he should be given time to assemble his own squad which he will now have I will judge him in this seasons results only and complete disregard last season
The reason we want down was partly his fault but the biggest blame lies with the previous regime that once again failed to sign players in positions that were lacking the season before
Tan and the board also must shoulder a massive amount of blame for the circus surrounding our club
But to judge ole on last season is totally unfair IMO
Best post I've read for a while. Tan, Malky, OGS all played a part in us going down. Now it's time to back OGS and stop comparing everything to Malky. He's gone, get over it. He did good and bad for us
Tue May 27, 2014 7:59 pm
Loads say ole is inexperienced and won't do good next season well malky was inexperienced when he came to us and is classed as a god to some fans

Make of it what it you like but Ole won two League titles and a cup with Molde so regardless of the honours coming in his native Norway the guy does know how to assemble winning teams and win Championships so lets get behind him and the team as I believe we will be pleasantly surprised

I think you are being slightly negative although I do see where you are coming from.
It would appear that Caulker, Medel and Marshall are on their way out and will command 30 million or so. I would like to see 5-10 million invested on team and 20-25 million paid back to the dictator.
The wage bill will be cut hugely with the sale of the 3 aforementioned players plus Bellamy, Cowie, Lappin and Smith going. I reckon that will save at least 150k per week with those 7 off the wage bill-approx. 8 million a year. I can also see Mason leaving along with 1 or 2 others including Berget and Taylor.
Hopefully a few of the youngsters will go out on loan.
Add in parachute payments and a good start to the season and I think we have a squad that will challenge at top which will lead to reasonable crowds of 20-22000.
If we go up then we need to look at our recruitment strategy and not waste millions on average players.

'Is Ole spending too much?' after getting a proven Spanish goalscorer on a free, Macheda on a free an ALF for 1m'

What Annis is saying is we are in huge debt and need to cut back rather than splash the cash.

And aren't we doing that? Getting bargains rather than spending too much? We've always done it, we've always spent above our means, why is it Ole being singled out?

Haven't 3 senior players been released already? Or am I mistaken. It's still early days, no doubt the floodgates will open soon and the deadwood will be flowing out.
Tue May 27, 2014 9:12 pm
Well well well
Annis please change the record
Your agenda quite frankly is just cringe worthy now
You got all our support in demonstrating for our rightful colour and badge to be reinstated
But you really are showing your self up by trying to undermine ole becouse he replaced your beloved milky who imo was the reason we were relagated
You have used malky to hammer tan , malky used you and us to get at tan
And its time to put all this shit to bed
New era now
New manager and new players who need our support
Thats it for me on this subject mate cant wait for the new season time to believe again
Were cardiff city we will allways be blue

The task Ole had last year was an impossible task so it's no suprise we went down.. You cant just sack a manager at that point in a season just above relegation zone and expect a good outcome. Ole is supposed to be a bit of a freak when it comes to tactical knowledge and spotting things during play that can change games in your favour which is apparantly why he was used as a super sub at Man U. He didn't show that last season but he's new (to management and Cardiff), he was given an impossible job, and the off the field ongoing sagas would not have helped. However, the media focus will be less as we are no longer in the prem, Tan will be seen less (I hope) as the media focus is not there which means Ole should be able to concentrate more with the things on the pitch. Ole was clueless last season but for the reasons above I don't think it's fair to judge him yet. I will start to judge him from the first game next season and disregard anything that happened last season.
Regarding the debt - Lower division means less spending which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, the debt is not as likely to spiral much further out of control as what it may have been if we stayed up. My concern is that Tan will not be here long term so there will be no long term plan involving profit. Tans plan is to spend lots for instant success so it's a crash and burn scenario as we have seen time and again that approach does not work. Tan will pump money in (by way of loans) realise we cannot compete for champions league trophies and leave (with us in a pile of financial difficulty). Thats why it is important for the future of this club that Tan leaves before he is able to destroy this club. Anyone who wants to argue that point I would love to see some long term financial stratagy as I'm always willing to change my viewpoint after a bit of educating.
So in brief I'm backing Ole and Tan needs to go asap and it's only the fans who can drive him out at the moment. And remember the one season fans won't be there next season, the red brigade will be non existant so if you want blue my advise is go and get it.

We are signing a lot utd rejects.... I hope ole knows what he's doing to bring us back up.
Tue May 27, 2014 10:30 pm
You are right to be cautious, especially based on how the last 4 months went, and when considering the January signings.
But on a positive note Ole has had success as a player and as a manager. The January window was rushed so he has some excuses there. He was sailing a sinking ship. Also he has the support of Tan, there aren't many managers who would have survived the results he achieved. So Tan's support is a positive, and therefore the money for the new recruits has to be positive, because it shows Tan backing his man.
If he has a good start momentum could build, plus maybe there a some United loanees that could come too.
Also we don't know how far they are to closing the Medal, Caulker and Marshall deals that could bring in £25M-£30M or more.
I think the debt concern needs to be parked, in reality Tan has no choice, just look at Reading. He needs the club to return to the Premiership asap otherwise his gamble will have backfired big time, and we could be in deep shit this time next year.

I haven't been a big Ole fan, just understanding of the circumstances which I think people have been very ignorant about.
The business he is doing ATM is all good and could prove to be big coups for us.

Annis, you gotta be the most positive negative person I've seen on a board ever. Undermining and then end up posts with that annoying bluethumb as if you are positive. Get behind OGS and the team and stop fooling around with that negativity!
Tue May 27, 2014 11:14 pm
What new does this topic bring to the table? Nothing. Your opinion won't change. The only factor is time. Ole will either prove to be a good manager or a bad one. I'm looking forward to see which one.

Doesn't help when him and Carl are getting no sniff on these new signings.

Your being Negative.
Give our manager a chance.
Tue May 27, 2014 11:56 pm
I think the issue a lot of us have with that point of view is it is almost a contradiction in supporting and doubting in the same sentence.
Its not support if you don't think he's the right man for the job. If that's the case that's fine but that's why quite a few people have issue with that particular point of view.
If you take that point of view in any other circumstance you might see that its really not support.
As always just my .02

I honestly don't understand why anyone has mentioned Malky in this topic, this has 100% Nothing to do with Malky,it's purely about my opinion on the current situation and just giving my opinion, which I know will have many saying I am being negative, but I am just saying how I feel.
But at the same time I will be whole heatedly supporting the team and Ole next season
Wed May 28, 2014 7:38 am
As to the debt of course I am concerned very, who surely would not be?

I doubt that you would think it right to say to your daughter that you didn't think she was good enough to achieve something but would fully support her? It may be honest, but would be overly negative and have a detrimental impact. That's what your doing on a public forum that you have Said you know OGS reads

You cannot tell someone you fully support them whilst telling them their not up to it

Your negativity is driven by matters outside OGS control. As far as I'm concerned last season is a write off and should not be used to judge OGS at this moment in time. We are in fact in a better position than when Malky arrived in that the owner has a manager in place who he wants there so should work better together and OGS has had 5 months here to know the ins and outs of the club. He is more experienced than Malky when he arrived here and we know what Malky was able to achieve, we have also seen what Sean Dyche has just done at Burnley, so the experience aspect means nothing. Let's see OGS assemble his own team and gets it playing his brand of football. I would love to see us playing teams off the park next year, scoring goals for fun and blitzing teams, then you will see the fans returning in their droves
