I don't recall ever saying DJ had a huge budget, so please don't assume that I have. :thumbright:

What a load of utter nonsense... If he is only capable of that level, please explain his first season at Cardiff? Where on a shoe string, he got the club into the playoffs, when the club didn't totally expect it, and into the Caroing Cup final... Taking Liverpool to penalties?!

You bang on about the Malky lovers being ridiculous, well Malky haters like you talk just as much rubbish. :thumbright:

thanks for the facts. I'd always thought that there probably wasn't that much difference but that's quite alarming if true!

spent the same....finished lower and the football was dire........and no pressure either, i remember DJs last season,if we lost it was the end of the world........one year later people just accepted a new manager needs time..........

So you don't think that taking a squad built on mainly frees and the odd loans, to the playoffs and to the carling cup final & taking it to pens against Liverpool as a championship club wasn't in any way successful?!

:laughing6: okay.

no ................losing a cup final and play off is not successful

Getting to the playoffs of a threadbare squad as well as the Carling Cup final and taking Liverpool to pens as a lower league team, is a success to me.

A backward step? haha. After being sacked and then apologising for messing up?

One of the biggest clubs in Europe, a huge fan base, Champions league football and a club with a rich history. Just like Rangers had.

Some forget that we are a club who will be back to crowds of around 15k next season.

really..that old chesnut......most managers would love to walk into a smallish squad with quite a lot of quality with the resources to sign a dozen of their own choosing.....over
a huge squad of players you dont want...........both MM and IM have stated the blank canvass was an advantage.....
he used 31 players threadbare?
6th in the league was no more than acceptable.........a year earlier everyone EXPECTED automatic promotion having spent the same..????????????
and especially the early rounds of the CC were fortunate............he played gyepres,keinon,parkin,taiwo,jarvis,quinn,naylor..pretty much anyone and everyone..........the semis, and the final were great days for our club..but getting that far was more luck than judgement....

where.... Did...... I say...... anything...... About it? Although, to get a brand new squad together within weeks and for them to gel together so quickly was excellent.

Id be amazed if that was right. How many of those 31 were available all season? How many were of real quality? Please back up this stat........

good for them. We didn't spend the same. What you are also forgetting was that the quality of the squad had dropped considerably. Ramsey on loan, Bellamy on loan, 4 million pound Chopra... England international Bothroyd...

Are you really suggesting the squad was the same strength? If so, you're more foolish that I originally thought!

that's common practice. What a strange remark.

wrong.... I see nonsense wasn't just stuck to your Soulofthesea account then?! :laughing6: glad you can admit Malky did well though in the final. :thumbright:

ROY KEANE IN TALKS WITH CELTIC

Following the departure of Neil Lennon, Celtic have been on the hunt for his replacement. Names like Henrik Larsson and Gordon Strachan were mooted but one name who seems the clear front runner is Ireland assistant Roy Keane. Keane has been out of management since a disappointing spell at Ipswich and is thought to be the main contender for the job at Celtic.
