The tube journey from Whitechapel to New Cross Gate was the longest journey of my life. Really dodgy walk from there to Cold Blow Lane. No real segregation in the ground. OB nowhere to be seen! Probably got away with it because I was on my own.

Bristol was ok, and Swansea a doddle, because there were always plenty of us. Generally speaking, though, far fewer travelled away in the 70s.

Tudor Street could be quite lively, too!

Some games I was worrying about for days before, especially away in London. Fans from all different clubs seemed to turn up everywhere! No false bravado from me, I'm afraid.

That was then. Much better now. Better organised, travel with ccsc. No fear anymore.

one of the worst away games for me was stourbridge away in the welsh cup final first leg. the whole of the midlands turned out for us.

Perfect example of how crazy it was. Often had nothing to do with whoever we were actually playing!

The 80's and early 90's were the craziest for me, following city away was almost guaranteed an off. We didn't have huge away followings so we were quite close knitted. We had the beauty of quality as well as quantity when it came to mobbing up.....those days are gone but the excitement that i used to feel Will never be replicated. Im an old fart now but i miss them days.

Just watched an old episode of D.r Who on the horror channel starring John Pertwee and it was shit, no wonder we had nothing better to do in the 70's than fight each other.

Best days of my life. Football meant something then, plus a real feeling of a unit.
we were shit on the field late 80s but good off it.

times we would meet down the Potters Wheel in Rumney to catch up on the days events. Some you would not see until the next day for various reasons. Happy Days
