Excellent read Annis, fair play to you. It must be a big relief/release to get it off your chest and out into the open.....It's the present now, in order to lead us into the future, that counts. It's only a matter of time before the blue is back but no-one should get complacent...keep the momentum going :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

NJ73 wrote:Nobody in that meeting had any mandate to say yes or no on behalf of the fanbase.

That was very clearly understood by everyone in attendance.

In my report for CCMB dated 08/05/2012, I wrote:

"A straw poll of the thirteen supporters present was conducted on the subject of the changes to the club's colours and badge. One was in favour; two were indifferent, while the remainder were opposed and in some cases very strongly opposed. However, it was acknowledged by all present that the views of those attending the meeting were not necessarily representative of the fanbase as a whole."

I further clarified that point in a blog piece I wrote on 03/06/2012:

"Towards the end of the meeting on 8 May, a straw poll of the thirteen fans in attendance was held on the subject of the re-branding. This poll was conducted by club officials on the clear understanding of all present that the opinions being expressed were personal and in no way representative of the membership of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Club, the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust, the Cardiff City Away Travel Group or the club’s wider fanbase."

Its about time all this "fans leaders" and "inner circle" nonsense is stopped. The irony is Tan is called a dictator for forcing the rebrand through, it seems the decision was given the go ahead by 12 unelected spokespeople for the fans. A 12 strong dictatorship if you will.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and Im sure those 12 would have done things differently given the chance.

See my reply to NJ73. You are wrong on all counts.

Excellent read Annis, you tell the story of the transformation of the fans stance from pro red to pro blue perfectly. Also, if we get back to the Premiership, Tan won't care about the fans as the money the club will make from the fans with gate receipts, merchandise, catering etc will be absolute peanuts compared to the Premiership prize money, Sky TV fees etc. Therefore, if we do get back to the Premiership, I do not trust Tan to stick with his promise of a compromise. It's only if we slide down the divisions where the prize money is minimal, Tan will depend on the fans more than ever. The more we fail, the more Tan will need the fans to continually turn up to games for the club to generate continual income, so sadly, I believe it is only if we fail Tan will have no choice but to really respect the fans wishes by turning us back to blue.

Splendid. Continue to talk bullshit then. But the fact of the matter is that the thirteen fans at that meeting did not make any decisions about anything. Nobody gave anything the go-ahead, as you have suggested. On the contrary, in fact. It was merely a case of club officials asking a group of fans their personal opinions about the re-branding - something which the majority in the room were opposed to.

dont see what Craig is so wrong about tbh.......there are people on here at this moment who speak about, emails, phone calls, meetings with the club...............so nothing has been learned.
the irony is, had the club put exactly the same spiel to its ST holders at that time, in my opinion they would have had a clear mandate...........
restricting these meetings to a small group of un elected fans leaders, has in fact given everyone else opportunity to think more of it without the moral dilema of having already voted,or having agreed to anything....WE havent agreed to anything..i certainly wasnt asked.........so YES,YES,YES....just like scarfgate..is in effect a blessing

Carl says different. He claims you people in the room had to make a decision. No mention of only personal views.

The fact remains that whether your version of events are taken as true or Carls version, you all left yourselves open to being seen as being the people who decided on behalf of the fans, and therefore wide open to criticism as a result.

The club had no business inviting a select group to give their views and you should all have refused to partake in such a meeting and insisted that any canvassing of supporters opinions should have gone to a full season ticket holder vote, or not to ask anyone at all.

Tlg you stated on ccmb this

In my experience, Annis has always been staunchly blue. He was one of the most vocal opponents of the re-branding during both of the infamous meetings with club officials in May 2012, and was similarly vocal in the meeting which involved Alan Whiteley, Malky Mackay and the season ticket holders who had requested refunds. He was also instrumental in arranging the first KCB meeting at the Ninian Park pub (the only one I attended).

So who were the ones who did not care? and who was the one all for the rebrand?

Re: ANNIS ABRAHAM " I SHOULD HAVE SAID NO, NO, NO!!! "

Wed May 14, 2014 1:22 pm

Whatever happened in that meeting, or any other for that matter, should not mean laying blame or responsibility at the doer of 12 people. You have to remember that these people wanted and still want the best for CCFC, but were faced with the real threat that the club could go to the wall.

I don't envy any of them, especially as things are still difficult and uncertain.

Let's unite under the BLUE agenda. Surely this isn't enough to jeopardise Tan's involvement in the club. Maybe the anti-Tan songs and banners could be toned down at times for the sake of face-saving, but wearing BLUE and 19:27 displays can only reinforce the positive feelings we feel to everyone when we are united.

The bickering and finger pointing needs to stop at some point for us to move forward.

Nice one Annis for sharing your experiences. I hope one day we will all appreciate your efforts.

Decided to be complicit in legitimising the clubs "consultation" by partaking in the process.

As I've stated, you should have all walked out and insisted that any fan consultation be undertaken via a season ticket holder vote, or not at all.

Certainly not by a hand picked group of fans.

Despite claims from any individuals to the contrary, the truth is we were not a part of any consultation process. We were merely informed of what was going to happen and asked to help convey the facts to the fanbase via our respective organisations and social media outlets. The press had been given the same information earlier that afternoon.

We were told by the CEO that the re-brand was non-negotiable and was definitely going ahead. It was as simple as that.

The answer to that is obvious and has been answered extensively almost on a daily basis. It is a good website to talk football, lots of swans threads and combines my interest of psychology, football and business as Tan looks to control you all, and succeeds.

I was in the smallest of minorities actually being banned here for saying such like as debt to equity makes no sense and will not be done in full, fully detailing the reasoning why.

Why this spending was killing the club while people were rejoicing in yet another multi million signing with a 40k a week contract - even pro blues.

The lack of sense on this board has astonishing not to mention shocking but fascinating all the same.

Some of this makes huge sense. We came up from the Championship in first place, but the amount spent on panic buys was breathtaking. My first instinct was that if Cornelius was amazing, why hadn't Laudrup had a little look with his obvious connections and royalty status over there? The answer is that he had checked Cornelius out. He decided he was overpriced and probably too inexperienced for the PL. IN HINDSIGHT, SPOT ON!

I don't think last season was a complete meltdown though and we can consolidate and rebuild next year. If it takes 2-3 years to get back up, so be it, but let's do it properly.

C'mon BLUEBIRDS :bluescarf:
