Re: malky points vrs full season 38 games

As a Math expert (with a masters) I would say that at game 18 Cardiff City stood a fantastic chance of staying in the Premier league.

Then there was the sacking

After that people kicked in (ghosts at the feast), be they ex football hooligans, or local hacks with a slightly better than illiterate take on the bread and circus events surrounding the club (red or blue take a side!)

What a waste!

What is next?

Since we are talking stats and facts then we also got to include the stats that prove how Malky always get LESS points in the second half of the season compared to the first half.
Which means we get relegated, end of story.

I suggest you guys forget about Malky City and focus on supporting Cardiff City. I`ll even throw in a fist pump if it helps.

Please gather up the crap above and leave, its points per game over a significant subject group (number of games in this case 18) that matters

Let me tell you what matters. We are relegated and going to the Championship. That is what matters!

All this math bullshit and wishful thinking is shit. But it`s perfect for single dudes who brag about how many girls they have nailed. Listen mates, im gonna get 35 girls to bed this year, im at 18 now but the math says i`ll end on 35.

Realistic? Or could there happen things in between that changes the outcome?

OMG its not my job to educate you with maths.

Of course there are things that change outcomes, sometimes they are positive (or in our case) sometimes negative!

But then we come to the question "what if Malky had stayed and had reached a similar point count that was previous to him being sacked"

In a statistical deviation (for you that means the odd draw, the odd win over ole) we would have stayed up!

The problem with this forum is its not about the team , its all about red v blue and an illiterate hack from wales on line

To be fair judging by the progress of this thread you need more than my help.

ok so you have had a mare hear for sure, but going by 18 games, as you yourself stated....

Points after 18 Matches...

Arsenal - 39 - Average = 2.16 * 38 = 82.33 Actual Points = 79
Man City - 38 - Average = 2.11 * 38 - 80.22 Actual Points = 86
Chelsea - 37 - Average = 2.05 * 38 = 78.11 Actual Points - 82
Liverpool - 36 - Average = 2 * 38 = 76 Acutal Points = 84
Everton - 34 - Average = 1.89 * 38 = 71.77 Actual Points = 72
Newcastle - 33 - Average = 1.83 * 38 = 69.66 Actual Points = 49 (lol)
Man United - 31 - Average = 1.72 * 38 = 65.44 Actual Points = 64
Spurs - 31 - Average = 1.72 * 38 = 65.44 Actual Points = 68
Southampton - 27 Average = 1.5 * 38 = 57 Actual Points = 56
Stoke - 21 - Average = 1.16 * 38 = 44.33 Actual Points = 50
Swansea -20 - Average = 1.11 * 38 = 42.22 Actual Points = 42
Hull - 20 - Average = 1.11 * 38 = 42.22 Actual Points = 37
Villa - 19 - Average = 1.05 * 38 = 40.11 Actual Points = 38
Norwich - 19 - Average = 1.05 * 38 = 40.11 Actual Points = 33
West Brom - 17 - Average = 0.94 * 38 = 35.88 Actual Points = 36
Cardif - 17 - Average = 0.94 * 38 = 35.88 Actual Points = 30
Palace - 16 Average = 0.89 * 38 = 33.77 Actual Points = 45
Fulham - 16 Average = 0.89 * 38 = 33.77 Actual Points = 32
West Ham - 14 Average = 0.78 * 38 = 29.55 Actual Points = 40
Sunderland - 13 Average = 0.72 * 38 = 27.44 Actual Points = 38

So what does this show? that only three sides were bang on the money in terms of getting the average from 18 games over 38 games, while another 2 were very close

Basically i think the above at least shows that trying to rely on a points tally after 18 games for the whole of the season is nonsense, regardless of a change of manager or not.
