Tan would not be able to publicly criticise Malky in such a manner unless he was in a position to back his comments up should Malky consider he had a claim for libel after Tan's latest outburst. If MM is squeaky clean as suggested by many on this forum, there is no reason why he shouldn't fight back as this is not exactly doing his reputation a lot of good. Tan has messed up by changing to red, but it seems as if Malky has also messed up big time, especially now being publicly accused of almost destroying the club. If Malky remains quiet after this, I think the MM supporters may have to accept that he wasn't completely innocent when he was removed from the club.

A good assessment I would say .....

I blame 75% on Tan and 25% on Malky, A good striker would have got us 6+ points (Like Boni has for the Jacks). But he failed to spend 8mil on a striker, Disgusting.

Well said Vincent Tan.
Malkys a championship manager at best, he squandered millions and layed the foundations for relegation. His and Moody's apology says it all.

It's hard to disagree with what he has to say as both MM & IM failed badly in putting together a squad capable of maintaining our PL status. Despite spending £50m.

Bunch of whining xxxxx - Mackay is a good manager and he would have motivated his players and brought the best out of them. Cornelius was injured and played in total 8 games, some off bench. It was always going it be difficult but perhaps Mackay was buying for the future and we will never know if he would have settled.

Look - you never know Norwich's striker has had a shit season, Swansea's a great one both had a similar record;

One thing for 100% in all clubs when you get a crazy motherfucker chairman interfering all the f*cking time pissing off the fans trying to sue other clubs etc etc it always fucks up.

Putting this all aside - HOW THE f**k can TAN criticise Mackay for Cornelius and then employ clueless OGS.

I wonder if all will humbly apologise when Norwich under Mackay are top.

Cardiff City like all other businesses have owners who employ managers to manage their business.
Malky Mackay was employed to manage Cardiff City.
Part of his remit would be to find and recruit suitably talented players to represent us in our maiden season in the Premiership.
We all know Vincent Tan is not a football man so lacks some knowledge in this field, this puts the onus on Malky Mackay and his assistant Ian Moody to use their inside knowledge and football contacts to bring in suitable players for the club.
If they say Fred Bloggs is a sound investment at 8.5 million and £45,000 a week then any owner worth his salt would back up the managers recommendations as he would have more football knowledge than the owner, to refuse to sign off the cheques would be undermining his manager and therefore not trusting him to do his job properly.
If you employ someone to manage then you must trust them to do the job asked of them, failure to sign off cheques would be a show of mistrust.
Vincent Tan signed off the cheques yes but the players being paid for by those cheques were the choice of the manager..Tan was backing his managers decisions, if you can't back up your manager what's the point in having one?
Manager finds a player..owner finances purchase, each one trusting each other to do their part in the deal. :thumbright:

When he was banging on about nobody appreciating him, I was waiting for the interviewer to say "Oi! Mr T. If you changed the colours back you'd be a f*cking hero but".

No wonder he thinks we are all mad. Nobody seems to state the obvious about his red shit being the only reason we don't appreciate him.

It does sound like Malky really fucked up now. Sad to hear. I feel a bit let down as he seemed like such a nice bloke. Didn't like his tactics but he certainly looked like he gave a shit.

On reflection, it is disgraceful that he spent so much on a striker who even he didn't think was any good as he never played him. AND he has the same agent? Well dodgy I'm afraid.

I agree with Polo. Hate Tan for the rebrand but he seems spot on here.

Malky was the football man and moody negotiated fees/wages. They were trusted with millions and they blew it.

Neither Malky or Moody are qualified to negotiate fees or salaries, they should never have been anywhere near the money, any sensible business would have negotiators who would negotiate the best price.

The person to blame is the person at the top.

Total contradiction by Tan on 2mins 30 secs, after slating MM for spending stupid money in the PL the interviewer says"but Malky took the club into the Prem" and Tan responds by saying "only because I give him £15m to spend",so Tan agrees that Malky spent well to get us to the PL.......The guy is deluded and totally rattled throughout with his swallowing and nervousness, not the guise of a Billionaire businessmen.

i never liked watching malkys team, bored me to shit, even in the promotion season.. his signings in the premiership were shocking..especially cornfoot, and the money wasted was incredible.. as for medel..11m for a defender uffffffffff. malky in my opinion is well over rated.. dave jones is the type of manager you have to keep you up, not take you up.. a manager who can find gems with no money..but lethal when you give him a few pounds.. lets see what ole can come up with after a summer of big changes.. then i will judge him..Tan would have and still would be very popular, until he started messing with tradition, he thinks we should all worship him because of his investment,, but we dont think like that here. we wont suck up to him just because he holds the purse strings if we dont like whats hes doing, maybe he should have done his homework on welsh culture before he started pissing about with colour and badge changes..i hope he wakes up and reverses the whole thing,, but my guess is that he has already agreed contracts for next seasons kit and its too late..

Sorry but if you think its the norm for the manager to negotiate fees and salaries then your the stupid one.

Do you think them down the road will be giving Monk a wad of cash and saying spend wisely, doubt that very much, I remember reading after they sacked Laudrup that Laudrup said he had talked to a number of players and given the details to Jenkins but didn't know why they never signed.

I doubt very much if Wenger, Mourinho, Rodgers or even Fergurson when he was at Man Utd negotiated signing fees, salaries etc, all clubs are businesses and they employ people to do the negotiations or the person in charge will do it (owner/chairman), people who run the club and know what can be afforded.

As someone mentioned Lim was Tan's man at the club, why didnt he control the money?

There are a lot of questions that need asking, putting the blame on Malky for spending too much money is cowardy by Tsn, he accepts no responsibility at all.

None of your examples had a "head of recruitment" we did. Malky said himself that he and Moody negotiated Medels contract after the Man Utd game.

Thr club said they had no football man in place so trusted Malky and Moody.

The only thing Tan is guilty of in this situation is trusting a rookie with too much money and power
