I will take top 6 now.

All depends what the squad is like nobody knows yet if we will be idiots and throw money at it, if we will have a fire sale and spend moderately or if we will sell and pocket the profit..

Get a decent striker in and there is no reason we can't get top 2.

Might even do it if we hold on to what we got :thumbright:, Kenwyne could be the difference if we make it or not, but if the fan base stick together we've got each other and that's a lot, for love of the club we'll give it a shot. I tend to think we're more than half way there, and aiming for the top two even champions isn't living on a prayer, and with Marshall's hands we'll make it but I'm not going to swear on it. Perhaps it is living on a prayer?

And u still dont learn.
Allready u are putting pressure and expectants on the team u dont know u have management u dont will be there and no idea what tan will pull out of his box of tricks.
Wolves going up leeds Fulham Norwich boltonwill all just lay back for u I take it? Not to mention brighton Blackpool midlesbough and there ia allways 1or2 surprise teams that will push.
You realy should be looking to get sorted off the pitch before making stupid expectations as to were u are going to finish as u do it every season and only get let down

Re: Realistic finishing for next season?

Depends on who leaves. If Marshall, Caulker, Mutch, Medel leave (at least 3 of them will imo) our spine is gone already. Tan may be a little reluctant to give Ole a good transfer budget (after last seasons mess) to replace those players and add the necessary striker and full back(s) we need.

It would be fair to give a realistic guess after the transfer window is finished and we know what our squad will be like.

And sign a goal scoring striker and two fullbacks and a centre half....

Worry about your own club..........

Personally can't see anyone other than Marshall, Caulker, Medel and Campbell leaving from the main squad, hopefully a few fringe players will leave too.

If we can add a full back, strong defensive midfielder, a winger and a proven goalscorer there's no reason why we can't bounce straight back up.

If we don't start well then I fear for us, us as fans are not the most patient and pressure will build on the team if we don't pick up results early on

Realistically probably between 18th and 14th. They will have a 3 year plan to try to get back I to the play offs I would imagine. Next season I think the club will be happy to stabilise as a championship club again ( which is really our level ) as they won't want us dropping back to league one :bluescarf: :old: :bluescarf:

Well its quite simple realy.
It just a case off enjoying and remembering were u come from.
Only in the late 90s u were getting crowds off 2-3and 4 k.
Playing shit football and dreaming of the prem.
Yes tan has fucked u over but still u fail to enjoy the prem and instead of just making the most off it just blame everyone and expect to much.
Our first season we didnt expect to have a sniff off staying up but did so.

On what grounds can u expect to be in the top 6?
You have no idea on what changes will be made.
And u are just building your self for a fall

Re: Realistic finishing for next season?

All depends on the transfer activity. Medel, Caulker and unfortunately Marshall will be sold - but if we keep most of the team from this season, get rid of some deadwood and let OGS add a few players then top 6 minimum.

Hmmm, difficult to say. I reckon mid-table and then we'll work our way back up in the next couple of years. Fans still pretty divided and it depends if we grab a nice striker! Definitely got potential for top 6 but don't want to get my hopes up before the season has even started :P

Would settle for mid table . Worried about next season . The side seems to have no fight . The hammerings against other sides in the bottom half of the table in the second half of the season do not bode well for a championship where games can be won by just showing a bit of bottle and being well organised

With this team we would be lucky to stay up, I think we could be facing another battle against relagation, got it spot on last season hope i'm wrong this time round.
