Seems to have done better under Monk.

Think he'll stay there for another season and, if he has another good year, they'll have maybe a top six club sniffing around.

£28m is a push, they could probably get £18m-25m for him.

Drives me mad that they found him, and we ended up with Cornelius for not an awful lot less.

You have got to think what we bought him for.

£12m. There is no way we would sell him for a paltry £6m profit.

£25m would turn the head slightly, but i think it will he £28m if we were to sell.

Van Persie went for £30m.

Sturridge went for £12m.

Suarez went for nearly £23m.

Do you really think Bony is worth more than those three? Three of the best strikers in the division, maybe Europe?

RVP was in the last ear of his contract.

Would Suarez go for £23m now? Would Sturrage go for £12m?

No chance. Although im amazed you dont seem to class Bony as one of the best strikers in the division. He is top goalscorer in 2014, top goalscorer with his head overall and has scored 1 less than aguero and 2 less than Rooney in a side that has been in the bottom half all season.

Not at all. Top goalscorer in the Premier League in 2014.

Bought for £12m untested and now is one of the deadliest strikers in the Prem at 25 years old.

£28m.

As for Michu being worth £2m... :laughing6:

I honestly cannot see anyone paying over 2 mil for an ageing player who is injury prone and has done nothing is season, but that's just my honest opinion.

28 is ageing? :D

Are you genuinely telling me that if we put Michu up for sale now then we would struggle to get £2m for him? :laughing6:

All for opinions but that is just bonkers :laughing5:

Yes 29 nxt season getting on, what club in their right mind would pay big money for an average player who's 30 the following season :laughing6:

Why do you keep bringing up that he is top scorer this year, the season starts in August so it's top scorer over 9 months NOT 4  this year don't mean squat

It means he is the most in form striker in the league in 2014.

Self explanatory really.

The bigger picture needs to be looked at.
Why would we sell him for less then 20m?
We are in a great position financial wise that its in our hand rather then needing to cash in.
There for we hold all the cards.
And another think that makes me laugh is the fact u can still say we are not far in front of u?
This season has been a stuggle some what, what with European football and a manager who lost his way, but to say u are close to us is remarkable.
Apart from marshall and caulker no other player would get close to our first 11.
And realy im not being biased here but its true, and the table dont lie.

Not sure about that Steve. Its a whole ethos not just a striker or two.

We finished 11th with Danny Graham/Leroy Lita up front and largely a squad that was playing championship football the year previous.

The difference in the sides is mammoth.

i dident mean it to come across as just the strikers are the difference to be honest but take all the tactics and bullshit from the game and the reality is goal scorers win games and these last few weeks bony has stepped up to the plate the same as michu last season. we have not had a goalscoring striker for three seasons which is why we have struggled this year.
I give full credit to swansea for what they have achieved the last few years and they have certainly picked up bargains in the striker department the last few seasons which is credit to their scouting system.

If Mourinhio doesn't rate or feel Lukaku is ready he wouldn't go far wrong with Bony, good age, shown he can do it in this league so less of a bedding in period.

They could get close to 45-50 mill for Bony and Michu. I'd sell up if I was them.

Because it makes Bony look better. Roathie wont include the full season as it doesnt make him look as good.

Great player.

Had a slow start but Jeez how we could have done with someone like Bony... that's the difference between the two sides this season... we spunked money away on shit and they bought very well.

Think he'd be excellent at Chelsea.

I think it's obvious how good he is without massaging the figures took a bit to settle in hence the goalscoring in second half of season

Michu's value has dropped significantly.

Last season he was being valued in region of 20 million. Slightly too much in my opinion although he scored a good ratio of goals. This season he has spent more time injured and scoring ratio is poorer. Plus his contract is running down. Reckon he's worth about a quarter of what he was last season.

As for bony he has done well. Probably worth 20 million if people are realistic. If he has a good World Cup add 5-10 million to his value.

I wouldn't argue too much with that.

I don't think we'd accept £20m for Bony though. £25m and it would be very hard to turn down though.

Thats not massaging the figures.

Everybody knows he needed a bit of time to settle into English football, he wasnt even getting picked at times by Laudrup. Since Xmas he has been the top goalscorer in the Premier League.

Simple as that really, its quite telling actually.

All depends on clauses in contracts as well. Plenty of players have them. Equally if a player wants to stay/move then they can get their agents to engineer a move or a pay rise.

Kenfig Blue wrote:Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has enjoyed an excellent first season in the Premier League and he is hoping his form may have caught the eye of a bigger club.

The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international insists he is happy at the Liberty Stadium following his £12m move from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem last summer.

However, he admits his ambition is to play UEFA Champions League football after featuring in the Europa League for the Swans this season.

Bony, who has scored six goals in his last seven games, told Sky Sports News' Weekend Warm-Up: "I want to be in a bigger club, like all young players dream.

"I want to do Champions League now. I want to play more European games, so I feel like that because you feel it is good to play against the big teams."

Wilfried Bony

"So, for me, it is very important to keep doing well what I am doing now and just try to get the chance, and if the chance comes to me then it is up to the club to decide.

"All I can say is that I'm very happy here to be playing in Europe again. If you win something you always want to do more, always pushing yourself.

"I want to do Champions League now. I want to play more European games, so I feel like that because you feel it is good to play against the big teams. It is good to check your level."

Swansea secured their Premier League status last weekend with victory over Aston Villa and Bony was delighted to play a crucial role as he scored twice for the second game running to take his tally to 24 for the season.

He has a choice of about fifteen Championship teams then

I'll give you that one, he is a great Striker, looked lazy at first, but if he scores like that he can afford to be sometimes, if he improved his work rate could play top level....

Wonder what Connor Wicham would be worth rating Bony with this silly money. having a run of games doesn't justify that price tag.

I wonder have you actually watched him other than on MOTD ? . Nothing wrong with his work rate , considering he plays as a lone striker, he defends as well as he attacks and holds the ball up to bring other players into the game pretty well .

Of course. Although not having too sell or best players too survive, we as a club realise that if players, particularly strikers of Bony's quality wished to move on to better things we would never stand in their way, as it would obviously mean they have been successful buys and the profit made will be reinvested. Much better that than say signing a player and losing millions on him after sending him back to the the club you bought him from! :laughing6:
