Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job not at risk even if Cardiff are relegated from the Premier League

The Norwegian has endured a tough start to life in Wales, but is not expected to be under threat even if the Bluebirds lose their battle for survival

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job will not be under threat if Cardiff lose their Premier League status.

The Bluebirds ’ hopes of avoiding the drop suffered a heavy blow in their 4-0 defeat at Sunderland on Sunday.

The Norwegian has taken just 12 points from 16 games at the helm, while questions have been raised over his January signings and constant tinkering with the starting line-up.

But a club source said: “There is no question the club want Ole to continue as manager next season, whatever the outcome of this relegation battle.

“He has had little time to make his mark having been brought in with the club in a mess.

“He deserves the chance to develop his long-term plans.”

He is way out of his depth, poor signings, poor and inconsistent team selection and awful substitutions.

Thoughts?

i think the squad he inherited is out of its depth to be honest..
i doubt in his worse nightmare he thought a squad that cost this amount and had won the championship could possibly be so short of genuine ability.........but it is..
January signings.......yes on the whole not fantastic..but who the hell is available in january?..its players like WZ and KJ miles away from ever playing at the club they are at...top clubs very rarely buy in this window..
team selection.......they quite simply are not good enough, truth be told, if we lose people complain.but there are no obvious super star omissions.....you cant just keep losing and picking the same 11

short term..i dont think he was the correct choice to keep this bunch up.........that doesnt make him a poor manager,or out of his depth....its mainly a squad full of championship players being asked to play in the best league in the world..

results.... 3 wins in 16...its shit..........but we actually appointed our previous manager when he had won only 4 out of his last 21 at Watford.......

on the basis if all this,i think he should at least have a full pre season, and hope Tan backs him as he did MM.....
