So you think those players were worth 40m then and all that was required on top of a squad of championship players who struggled 2nd half of the promotion season?

You and Annis were forever happy to talk budgets and value when it suited against Dave Jones so cime on lets have your thoughts on 40m for that pile of shit?

Milky only real letdown was not finding the right striker.

No one is saying he is completely uninvolved in our relegation ffs.

It has been a complete fkin shambles of a season and one man is not to blame.

He is not the sole reason as to why we are going down.
But he is one integral piece to the reason as to why we are where we are.

Tan And his meddling.
Malky and his stubbornness and signings.
Lim and Moody could be a whole host of things.
Ole with his Niavety and signings .
Players with heartless and lacklustre performances.

But you only see Malky as the demon.
Same could be directed at them who see Malky Blameless.

KTC only cost about £2m. He's had some really poor games but all in all I think he's proved a good signing. Caulker and Medel have both been great for us.
The Brayfird transfer is a strange one, definitely good enough for the Prem and we signed him cheap.

Cornelius is the only worrying one IMO. Although I still think he's better than Kenwynne f*cking Jones.

Medel run out of gas 3 mths into the season and value for money is looking a bigger waste than Acorn.

wow.

Firstly how can you think hes better than Jones? who although shocking has been in the premier league for what? 7/8 seasons?

KTC was a shocking buy, regardless of the money, and was about the same cost of Brayford, who we dont have any clue if he would have been good enough for the prem.

Medel, though a good player is over-weight, and you have to question (all of) the coaching staff why nothing was done about this all flipping season.

Caulker is over-rated, good player sure, and maybe the fact hes been playing alongside donkeys makes him look worse, certainly not a poor buy though.

You say Cornelius was the only worrying one.... id say Caulker was the only decent one!

This thread was about money wasted, KTC was bought for peanuts in Premier League money. People seem to forget his early season form, and he was in decent form last month too. One of the ultimate scapegoats this season.

No matter how long he's been in the Prem, Jones is still dogshit and at the later stage in his career whereas Cornelius is only 20.

I do agree on Medel though, in this day and age something should have been done about his fitness

He'll be lucky to a job in the top two divisions, can't see clubs queuing up for him.

exactly, if the answer is no then its money wasted.

At the end of the day up to 5m was wasted on 2 right backs when i could have been used to bring 1 good one in.

One not given a chance and the other no better than what we already had. A waste.

Not spent well but not totally wasted. Medel and Caulker have both proved good signings over the season, although maybe over the odds.
Whenever we have played without Medel we've looked totally lost as if we would struggle playing against Leeds, he has added that bit of organisation to the team and is rightly a top class player. IMO at a team like Southampton or Newcastle or even Swansea he would excel.

In that case those 3 clubs will be queing up to give us our 11m plus back for him in the summer then.

11m for a midfielder who would improve us v Leeds.

i really dont understand how you can say that, in isolation they might well be good players, but we spend 20m on a centre back and a defensive mid and yet have conceded what? 68 goals?

****EDIT*** and it would have been more like 88 if it wasnt for Marshall!

The players they have around them don't help exactly do they? Not having a consistent fill back on either side is a big part of our problem. I like John but defensively he's not a full back for a low table side, great going forward though.

Like I said, you'd see the best of Medel in a higher ranked team.

hes not in a better ranked team though, he plays for us, and apparently we paid 11m for him, so for that price i want to see the best of him for us!

You say we didnt have consistant full backs.... so you admit the 5m we spend was a waste of money then>?

I'm that area, yes. Bertrand from Chelsea would have been a decent option but he'd cost us at least £5m. Left back is a hard position to fill on a limited budget.

I remember when we first signed Medel it was quoted at £9m. Seems to have risen a lot over the last few months

Malky is a bigger crook than Tan.

Re: Malky Mackay

Mon Apr 28, 2014 11:59 am

im with you there i thought it was 9.5, but i keep hearing 11m.

Either way its a lot of money for a newly promoted team, Wheather Medel is a good player is almost irrelevent. For the money we had available in the summer it was spend in all the wrong ways. Only Caulker, 8m for a good, young english centre back with quite a bit of prem experience already, can be considered tidy business, the rest was poor.
