Our problem all season has been no goal scorer. The club as a whole was and still is a mess, Palace gate proves that.

We need to regroup see what players stay and get rid of those with no commitment to the manager. Above all we must return to Blue, but I can't see that happening until we have a change of owner.

Joe Mason is our most natural goal scorer and he never got an opportunity. You would expect Campbell, jones, Mason and Maynard to score plenty in the championship though.

That's the one positive in that we have a quality attack force for the championship just need to rebuild the defence and midfield freshen it up and bring in some new blood

We need to make a new team though, we can't keep with the old, we may say we have a good Champ team but we need to change our team in order to return to the PL in a stronger position, there's no point going up with the same squad

Exactly! You have to plan two years ahead, and not blow 50 mill on a couple of players

Scored more goals than the previous regime despite spending nothing on a striker, conceded four goals more in defence, the comparisons are uncanny

The fact of the matter is that OGS was appointed with the main objective of keeping us in the Premiership.

I think its safe to say that he has failed in this,,,by a rather large margin too. Pigs might one day fly, but i don't think so.

It's only worth improving our scoring record if our conceding record doesn't change. Ole has improved our goal for average from 0.72 to 1.00 and goal against from 1.56 to 2.31 so we are actually 0.48 goals worse off under Ole.

The biggest change he has made is that the players now look like they have never met each other before.

I agree thats why I said we need to freshen up the midfield and defence and to a small extent the attack (although its a position we are strong in, in terms of the championship)

Fully agree but not sure on strikers, Campbell is good in Champ but average in PL, we need to use a rotational policy next season as well

Agree with everything you say. Campbell will score goals in the championship but we need at least two more top quality (Championship) strikers. Our defence needs a complete rebuild. Caulker will probably go, Cala isn't physical enough for the Championship and despite having a load of full backs there are problems with all of them. The key to the Championship is strength and speed. Throw in a couple of goal scorers and good set piece delivery and you've got a good chance. Squad depth is also necessary. :ayatollah:

Difficult task as two things must be done at same time. The club need to cut cost and at the same time raise the level of quality. More important the quality need to be able to raise to premier standard! Or else we will just go straight down again.
Exelent connections in the football world and exelent suportive fanbase is key to draw players like that to the club :ayatollah:
