Why did you mention Malky later on in the thread then? Yeah he'll get a big job in the Championship, not in the Premier League. He has done nothing to get him a big job in the Prem.

Their performances at the start of the season were good. It also isnt OGS fault - he is far too inexperienced and unprepared for EPL in management. How can you prove this? Every single season Malky has managed his sides always have a rough 2nd half to the season. I don't see how it would have been any different. He was supported fully by being handed 50m to spend in the summer and he blew it. Ole's fault for tinkering every game and Malky's fault for blowing our budget on average players.

It takes time with transfers and support. So easy for fans to expect spend = instant returns but it doesn't - look away from cardiff and to Man City - they most likely will come 3rd this season. Have they played poorly - no - its just a difficult league and real progress is slow and takes time.

How much time? We have played 34 games and two (if you count OGS signings) have shown some promise. I don't know if you realise but we ARE A NEWLY PROMOTED CLUB we can't afford to wait months for our players to come good, they need to play well early on. Especially considering their price tags
Mackay would have been fine - it may well be that he over spent but Tan, as the buck stops guy, should have taken responsibility and put more stringent constraints in Jan and next season and ironed it out.

Yeah and then how would we have attracted any manager if we had no money to spend? He put constraints on the budget and handed OGS 6m to spend. In the position we were in money had to be spent in both windows. If nothing was spent then Tan would have been shot down for not giving any budget. So he is in a lose-lose situation

Malky Mackay & Ian Moody both did fine jobs for the club; the transfers may well have all worked out fine but nearly every club has bought players of which not all have settled well. It seems both are being judged on Cornelius but he hardly played, injury affected his start into the league and at 20 - was always a player to develop for the future. To expect all to hit ground running is a pipe dream. -Before Tan started acting like a c**t, the performances looked like that of the strongest of the promoted teams and pundits felt safety would be achieved.

The down fall of Mackay & Moody centred not around the transfer budget but about the bonus structure. If you recall Tan vetoed that, the players then barred him from changing room and 6 weeks later both men were out of their jobs and the slide was in full swing from the highest placed promoted team to slowly sinking into the bottom 3 and having Palace a team that spent next to nothing leap frog us and nick our technical director or whatever job title Moody had - they nearly nicked our manager too but in the end got the best manager available leaving us with crazy Tan's logic to get OGS who has no experience of PL managerial and certainly not life at the bottom - totally different to Man U.

Tan in desperation then went to the dressing room to try and re-offer the bonus structure he'd previously vetoed - how ridiculous and only to be told that it was illegal.

All that got us from Man U was Zaha who ultimately is Palace through and through and every week he must chuckle that one of their rival are going down.

The most important though putting this all aside is that Tan is bankrupting the club and the foolish fans are letting him, their eyes hypnotized by all his shiny gold. If anyone thinks he wants to hang about in Championship then they'll be a big surprise and the debts are unsustainable even with a fairly decent average attendance (22k last yr)

At Crystal Palace the difference is manager and board.

Another lose-lose situation for VT then. Palace was appointed days before we drew with United. We were doing OK at that point. He sacks MM in November for no apparent reason he faces an even bigger backlash than he originally got for sacking Mackay. We had no chance in getting Pulis.
