Why do people keep banging on about Norwich. You keep forgetting that we have to finish above Fulham. Have you seen their fixtures.

These games were winnable on paper in August, both sides have been much better than us over the course of the season though.

The bottom 5 is our mini table. It's where things can be decided. How many points have we won and lost in that little group? It's not the overall key to staying up but it's a big part of it.

Ok so let's look at our mini league.

We've taken 6 points off fulham, 4 off Norwich, 4 off West Brom, 3 off Swansea and if we beat Sunderland away it will be 4 off them. On that basis we have won our mini league and in theory should stay up as long as we beat Sunderland and fet ine more win. I don't understand what you get out if spouting doom and gloom for a whole season, why not just accept that we will struggle and make the mist of it?

Sunderland didn't batter Man City tonight. Fulham didn't batter Norwich. You don't have to batter teams to show desire and fight. Teams with a lot of quality batter teams, therefore us winning away to a side far superior to ours (Southampton), is about as much fight an desire you'd see. Not quite sure what else you're expecting.

Maybe it's the peronis taking their toll Kev but I just don't see how we escape this...
Think Sunderland are coming with us also.
But I stand by my comment on beating your rivals.
Which is something we haven't done aside from Fulham.

Hang on I thought we took these points from our rivals.
6 off Fulham
4 off West Brom
4 off Norwich
3 off Scum sea
4 off Sunderland possible
All 4 others in the mix have taken less off us except Scum sea.
Based on that we have bettered our direct rivals. Hull and C.Palace are not bottom 5 and safe.
Get your facts right before knocking our efforts.

It's nothing to do with Maths I was just making the point that we have done well in our 'mini league' when the original posters point was that if we can't beat those around us we won't stay up. I think we need 7 points to stay up myself.

Palace are irrelevant now to our hopes. Sunderland are still three points behind us.

It's still in our hands, if we can get 6/7 points out of 12 we have a good chance :thumbright:

Keep the faith :ayatollah: :ole: :bluescarf:

To stay up and catch the likes of Fulham, Norwich and West Brom we have to beat Sunderland away so the fact they picked up 1 point last night is totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Palace were on 37 points prior to last night so the fact theyve moved to 40 is again irrelevant as 3 teams are not going to get to 37 points anyway.

Sunderland - drew at home, still to play away
Fulham - beat them home and away
Norwich - beat them at home, drew away
West Brom - Beat them at home, drew away
Swansea - Beat them at home, lost away
Villa - drew at home, lost away

So in the 11 games played against our relegation rivals we have won 5, drew 4, lost 2.

Weve obviously struggled against mid and top of the table and thats why we are where we are but to bemoan our stats against our relegation rivals is a little daft when you consider the above.

Why do people keep banging on about Norwich. You keep forgetting that we have to finish above Fulham. Have you seen their fixtures.

How Norwich get on is 10 times more important to us than what Fulham do. If Norwich win one game from their last four we're extremely likely to go down, even if we win on Saturday.

There's a reason why I said only Norwich and "ourselves" can effect our season, we need to keep up with Fulham or go above them this Saturday. If Fulham win atleast one game it's not a massive deal as long as we can keep up with them.
