Garry Monk deserves the job on a permanent basis and should be given a 5 year contract immediately.

He is doung a fine job considering the circumstances. Its not often you inherit a squad that has played over a season worth of games with a quarter of a season to run. I also wish he was employed earlier.

Im absolutely certain we will be top 10 next year, there or there abouts anyway. 1st season we finished 11th, 2nd season we finished 9th and without the Europeam distraction there is no reason what so ever to think we wont do the same next term.

if you employed him early you would be down, you deluded loon. finished 11th and 9th where are you now? (*scratching my chin*)[/

You can scratch anything you like, but I disagree.

laudrup was the one who finished 9th and he was also the one who took us to 15th upon his sacking. It was not the doing of Monk.

By the time Monk took over his squad had already played more games than many players ever play in a complete season. Not only that but he had to implement the old ways and his new ideas with just a few days before the next game. It is a work in progress and its looking better and better as the performances are improving.

If he was employed earlier then he would have had more time to implement his changes on a fresher squad.

But I thought he was the manager with the highest points per game ratio in the premiership for your club, I'm sure someone posted it on here a couple of times. A manager with that accolade should walk it surely. You say a fresher squad what about the returning cavalry you kept harping on about michu shelvey and the others surely you have a fresher squad with the returning gallacticos and now being able to concentrate on your push for the top half of the table seeing your out of europe

That is a stat that changes game by game and one that will be severely affected by the jaded squad. I dont know how anyone can say that Michu is "back". He is not match fit and made 2 appearances.

The fact we are out of europe doesnt erase history. If i just ran a marathon and someone asked me to run another, i wouldnt be able to do it - just because im not currently in the marathon id just finished doesnt mean I no longer feel the effects from it.

Under the circumstances, Monk is doing a sterling interim job.

Squeaky bum time for them. Monk just 2 wins in 10.

Laudrup would have had em safe by now for sure.

 we could quite feasibly not gain another point all season and stay up.

The fact we have 4 winnable games coming up added to the last fact puts paid to any concerns for any rational thinking fan.

Re: The jacks are quiet tonight....

1) Sunderland are gone already and probably need to win most of their remaining games.

2) You need to gain 5 more points than us out of the last 4 games.

3) Norwich need to gain 2 more points in the last 4 games than us even though they have Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Tottenham.

Can you really see any of that lot happening? Me neither.

- and thats just 3 teams. Add WBA, Villa and Fulham to that list.

Id probably say its even less than that. I assume it doesn't take into consideration strength of opposition.

75% of Norwich's remaining games are against the top 5. The other remaining 25% being Man utd

25% of Cardiffs games are against the top 5. (Chelsea in 2nd)

50% of sunderlands games are against Chelsea, Man City and Man United

Where as we have villa, newcastle, Sunderland and Southampton.

Quite feasibly you wont need another point but strange results happen at this stage of the season and yours and Swanseas general arrogance that your too good to go down could work against you.

All very well saying your 4 games are all winnable but you are not winning. Youve only managed to beat us and Norwich under Monk, two of the shittest sides in the division. You claimed Palace, West Brom and Hull were all 'winnable' but you only took 1 point from them games and alarmingly threw away HT leads in the 2 home games.

Being winnable doesn't mean you will win them as you also found out against Hull and Palace who beat you 7-0 combined recently.

The fact we have 4 winnable games suggests that it is unlikely we will lose all 4 games. Even if the unlikely scenario that we do lose all 4 does occur - we still have a good chance of staying up.

That doesnt scare me one iota.

I dont think its arrogance to say we are too good to go down, its just the truth. A bit like saying Messi saying he is too good for Aston Villa. Its not arrogant, just how it is.

Same premise. He is too good for Villa and we are too good to go down.

It will be proved by the fact Messi wont go to Villa and we wont go down.

Neither comment is arrogant, its just how it is.

nobody is too good to go down, its simply the three teams with the least points, Newcastle who are quite comfortable in 9th have just lost 4 on bounce that can happen to you. can happen to pretty much anyone.
real fans know this and dont count chickens..make bold statements..they just cross their fingers and hope that the nightmare doesnt become a reality for them.............football isnt about percentages, luck and confidence are unpredictable factors. maybe one day if you become a real fan you will understand.

Your not to good a side and your only fooling yourself. Your getting carried away with your stats again. Having lots of possession and playing tippy tappy means nothing without winning game's. You will stay up but after all the hype it looks increasingly likely that your on the downward part of the football cycle.

So you are saying we will stay up - yet im fooling myself by saying we wont go down?

This season was a progression on last season, league form was always going to suffer however we got to the last 32 of european competition and were very unlucky not to go to the last 16 (16 mins away).

Next season has all the hallmarks of another progression with hopefully a fully fit Michu and a squad not having to play twice as much as everyone else. :thumbright:

FACT is, as it stands, (and for all the "we're light years ahead in football terms") they are only 4 points better than us.

We may go down, and that difference may keep them up, but it still remains, they are not much better.

Top 10 club....bollocks! :laughing6:

We are light years ahead of you.

We are the most profitable club in the Premier League, we are part owned by fans, we are debt free, we have just won a major trophy, we have just got to the last 32 of European competition and are odds on to embark on our 4th season in a row in the Premier League after mostly mid table finishes, including a top 10 finish the last time the league was settled after 38 games.

How long will it take you to achieve all that?

Not in any of our lifetimes id be willing to wager.

Light years.

If 4 points is light years then you really are deluded. I don't think you will go down although it will be tight. I'm not overly confident that we will stay up. However for you to think you are light years ahead is incredibly arrogant.

We have debts but they are to one man who will hardly pull the plug nor allow us to go into admin. The volume of debt is questionable too. Some say 30 million. Others say 100. Your financial model is based on staying in premier league. If you went down a number of key players on big money (michu, bony, Williams and vorm) would have to go.

Support wise we average 27000 which will increase to 30-32000 next season should we do the impossible. You haven't even sold out every game in your small stadium dispelling the myth you have a huge waiting list.

Manager wise I believe OGS will become a top manager despite a dodgy start. He has got us playing a passing game. In my opinion he has tried to change too much too soon. Monk is out of his depth. He is still dining out on the derby victory. If Swansea stay up and monk stays you will be in a relegation dog fight next season.

 we were bottom of the league early on in the season. Monk has steadied the ship, restored the values of Swansea City but has inherited a jaded team due to our success.

Your form under him is relegation form not the highest points per game ratio shit you spouted for weeks.

i didnt "spout" anything. I stated facts. Earlier on in the season Monk did have the highest points per game ratio. The team is exhausted however as we have played more than most players will play in a season in their careers.

Monk has 9 points from 10 games which is just shy of the 10 points in 10 that Laudrup wqs averaging all season. That would hive a 34 point finish which is not relegation form.

it is nothing to do with points. We are light years ahead of you due to what ive just listed. There will be a whole league between us in a few weeks time added to that list.

what rubbish. You are £100m plus in debt and it doesnt matter of it is to one man or a million men. Its the same amount. When he wants it back you will be left with nothing. Our financial model absolutely does not count on staying in the prem, what tosh.

:D you will be lucky to average 18,000 next season. Our chairman has said countless times we have a waiting list. If we havent sold out then it is due to single tickets being left, who goes to the football on their own? Its an issue being discussed at the moment

whether it is Monk or another like minded manager, we will be mid table. Ill happily do a wager with you - name your price

When we are firing and have continuity there are few teams that can handle us. Superb side.
