Have to say, I do get sick and tired of hearing about it. Its gone from genuine emotion, to just plane milking it for all its worth now. I have genuine sympathy for the victims families and I hope they get what they are looking for. But as for the rest of the plastic so called Liverpool fans who jump on the bandwagon... GIVE IT A FUKING REST

Sadly, Liverpool haters will always say f**k hillsborough but will say RIP on the anniversary of Munich. Hillsborough was an accident waiting to happen. If it weren't Liverpool, it would been have been another club with an huge fan base.

Liverpool fans who turned up drunk and without tickets allso should hold there head in shame as they allso are to blame.
But what does piss me off about all this is that we here about how Liverpool fans want justice and many charities are set up to rais cash for the families, but never do we here about any money from any of the charities or club its self going to the families of the 39 Italian fans who died due to Liverpool fans rioting in hysel.
Convenient of them to forget that when they make out how hard done by they are.

100% agree with you Paul.

Pathetic if true. Twitter said minutes silence was observed impeccably.

If true the idiots who did it should be banned.

Watching it on tv you could hear chants of blue army and the camera zoomed in on Bellamy who was looking at the fans in disgust

As I said it was at the start for about 10 seconds then they piped down

What sort of a stupid question is that?

You always get a brief noise at the beginning of minutes silence especially if the crowd are chanting during the announcement.

As said it soon dissipated when all the fans became aware it had started.

The reason it is still regularly talked about is because the people of merseyside didn't let it die, didn't let the police sweep it under the rug...as said the injustice has made it even sadder and always the biggest story in british football. I personally think thats down to the determined parents, friends and family of those dead. Such a shallow point of view you have.

This was a football disaster, where aren't asking for a national holiday and minutes silence. So hence the kick off times change and its in all the SPORT columns.

100%.often thought some scouse seem to miss the point.all hillsbroed up then referring to mancs as munichs.full credit to the fans, families who fought the police cover up.the sad truth is no liverpool will put their hands up and say having a large number of ticketless fans trying to get in had anything to do with the tragedy.

However we dont mourn any other disaster year on year ie the bradford disaster, those killed in heysel, munich.etc

It's not a case of mourning, This is still news because the story goes on, people are still trying to get the truth, reveal the corruption and identify those responsible and then get those responsible to ace justice.

Bradford = poor maintenence, poor stadium, lit cigarette = accident case closed

Heysel = idiot supporters, wall = accident case closed

Hillsborough = cover up, fight to reveal the truth, corruption = case still open = still in the news

If you think it is because of that, then lets have an inquest about the absoute bollocks that was the Gulf war or maybe Vietnam??.

It is because it is about football and football sells papers, that is all.

Nothing to do with ordinary people like me switching on a TV in the afternoon and actually watching people die live on TV then?

Re: Hillsboro gave us a break

i remember watching people die on tv in the bradford disaster the whole of football doesnt mark that tragedy every year.

There was no chanting from our end during the silence. There were Saints fans to the left of us and just as the silence was about to start, someone in a wedding dress started walking up the steps (not sure if it was a bloke or a woman) and the Saints fans cheered this person. Our fans responded with "shhhh".

Media looking to blame Cardiff fans again.

All personal losses are tragic, yours included.

What made Hillsborough unique was that there were 96 families' worth of personal losses, all entirely avoidable, and the blame was put on their innocent friends and families.

It is very difficult to put a time frame on how long is reasonable to grieve a loss. But considering they only truely began achieve justice in their fight for the truth last year, I think it entirely reasonable to still be publicising Hillsborough.

I will give you an example - I am in my 20s. My dad grew up not that far from Liverpool. When he first told me the story of Hillsborough, he told it in a way that revealed he subconciously thought the fans were to blame. He kept using terms like 'fans turned up late' and 'pushed towards the front' - This is not because my dad is a heartless person, a bad man, a bitter, twisted individual who hates Liverpool. It is because the first hand press coverage he was exposed to reported it that way. It was because the police reports were released in that way. And there is an entire generation of people who's first exposure to Hillsborough was that it was 'liverpool's fault.'

All that enables my generation to hear the truth about Hillsborough is the press coverage the football community and the family are giving to it. i only know the truth about Hillsborough because the families and the Liverpool community are fighting for the truth and fighting for publicity and for justice.

I get that it can get quite irritating at times, but I will never criticise those who keep asking for it to be respected.

BTW apart from the odd few (couldnt tell whether they were ours or southamptons) was really glad to see how well the minute silence was respected yesterday!)

Chelsea sang in the concourse during the minutes silence today. Very disappointing, regardless of your opinions on Hillsborough, a minutes silence should always be observed with respect.

There was hundreds of Liverpool fans outside Wembley with JFT96 posters at the Carling Cup Final. They'd get you talking and then try enter the ground with you.

Some of them have learned nothing and anyone who thinks it was a total cover up and that no Scousers were to blame needs their head checking. Yeah, it was a terrible disaster but it should be left in the past now and in football terms be acknowledged with a minutes silence once a year.

it was a tragic accident, football was run so differently back then though...but as for cover up, there were two cover ups, the police and emergency services shitting themselves they would be blamed altered statements of events,we know this now,but the second cover up,is that Liverpool fans were totally 100% not to blame..........how
it was fellow fans in that end,and they hadnt been pushed and shoved into it either.
i hate Man Utd,but that song, your never to blame sums liverpool up..........Hysel followed.........their chairmans earlier responses on the hysel disaster were that Chelsea fans had been reported starting trouble in there........blame ,blame , blame..
and as you say mate..THEY LEARN NOTHING...........and as long as they live in this bubble where they are victim city they will not learn anything either............

You do realise that anybody can shout out in the middle of 2500 silent people and you would hear them don't you?

'Some Cardiff fans' can be substitued with 'a maximum of 3/4 people' shouted in the first ten seconds of the minute's silence. I have to be honest, from inside the stadium I couldnt make out what was being chanted, so couldnt agree or disagree that it was 'blue army' - what i do remember is there was a very angry reaction to the disrespect being shown and whoever it was , cardiff or southampton, shut up very quickly.

It is very easy to make sweeping statements about a fanbase that take away from the fact, that 99.9999999% of cardiff fans observed the minute's silence impeccably, and those who dont were told in no uncertain terms to pipe the f*** down, which they did.

Newspapers make a living out of grossly exaggerating events to make groups of supporters look bad - you should know better!
