Re: WORRYING SEASON TICKET CONCERNS FOR NEXT SEASON ?

Ive renewed for the 43rd Consecutive season and my daughter Annaise has  :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

But I know many who have not, price increase, had enough, some say rebrand again etc etc.

Plus plenty in the Premier Seats that I know are not renewing, most say through price increase.

I honestly see us getting crowds as low as 17,000 etc if we are relegated, if by some miracle we are not then I see 28,000 plus crowds.

I do think the club are wrong increasing the prices if we are relegated, it will hurt them.

I would also have kept the new stand closed for now.

The price increase is a disgrace though and puts the club in a awkward position next season trying to get people in if we are a champ club.

it makes no sense..ill thought out......

Every single one of my mates and everyone around me in the Family Section have renewed. I think 14500 renewed at the moment is pretty good going. :ayatollah:
The acid test will be next season when season tickets go on sale, as the price freeze will be finished.

Re: WORRYING SEASON TICKET CONCERNS FOR NEXT SEASON ?

the February renewal date doe seem early but for commercial pressure on fans you can see why....they want the sales early;
the 15% rise is a cheek! but they are recouping the money from the price freeze, so can't argue much with that from their commercial point of view;
knowing what division we would be in is a gamble by both fans and club, unfortunately we the fans may lose out this time.

my basic view is that the ticket prices themselves, at every club, are vastly overpriced. The people with normal jobs and average pay packets pay for overpaid players. Ticket money is a drop in the ocean compared to TV revenue, so why do the clubs grab cash off their own fans ? GREED.

id be suprissed if the vast majority of those who renewed ae not on the freeze.........it would have been good business by the club to have kept ALL renewals at this years prices imo..........with the option of course of putting the price up for new ST holders in the break...........i doubt they have gained more than a few thousand pounds by the increase, but have now put themselves in an awkward spot re marketing the tickets nxt year should we go down........

soulofthesea wrote:i didnt have the price freeze.........not only do i think it unfair to jerk up the price only for some...but with a good chance of relegation the club have done themselves no favours in getting new season ticket holders at the new prices.........

With respect, they didn't "hike the price up for some", they did it for every paying season ticket holder

The difference is/was that some supporters put their hands in their pockets when (unlike now) the club were REALLY in the mire and close to going out of business FACT! and the reward was that they would get a 5-year price freeze as a "thank you" for their gamble and their loyalty to the club they so obviously love (assuming there was actually a club left to support)

I'm not knocking those who didn't 'sign up' at the time, but I will say that EVERYONE (bar those too young to do so) was given the same opportunity to purchase season tickets in the knowledge that the price freeze was attached

No good moaning now because the tickets for the newer season ticket holders have risen with inflation and in line with most other cubs of similar stature. Next year the 'deal' will end and the rest of us "Ambassadors" will be paying the same as everyone else...AS PER THE AGREEMENT MADE 5 YEARS AGO!

I'll be renewing mine regardless. Love the club, love football and love being part of it! Not overly worried about Vincent Tan, as Chairmen/Owners come and go and (Blue Rebrand apart) I've seen a lot worse people at the top than him... another FACT!

I can see the new stand only having the seats fitted annis . I don't see the bars or cooperate hospitality fitted out when we go down and as said earlier I think the new training ground will be shelved.
I only hope he doesn't cut the academy funding as for all his faults he has invested heavily in that.

Tenth relegation for me. Waited all my life to see us in the top league and it's been awful. People down the club I have known for years go to work miserable and in fear of their jobs every day.
I believe that tan and his son will interfere in the playing side and purchase of players whoever is manager so I fully expect ole to walk sooner or later.
As soon as we are officially relegated I believe the training ground will be shelved amongst other things and we will be no closer to the debt to equity swap.
For me the love of the club has gone hopefully only temporary but I cannot support the present regime who are using the club as a subbuteo set and are obsessed with turning us into their own mini version of man utd.

Steve, top post, & I couldn't agree with you more.

1. Were the club correct to put season tickets on sale in February for next season? No - too early! Making sure we all renewed incase we went down.

2. Is the 15% price rise of season tickets too steep? Err - Yeah! inflation is about 3%, I wish my wages went up 15%! If we are in the Champ surely they should be less?!

3. Should the price be dependant on which division we are playing in next season? Yes for sure.

4. Are you surprised to hear or read that up to 10,000 current season ticket holders have yet to renew? Slighly yes!

5. Have you renewed and if not, why not? Yes I have.

6. Do you have an idea on how the club can get the missing thousands to renew? Reduce the price and compensate those who renewed early.

7. With parachute payments, should we go down, the club will surely have resources to spend on transfers in the summer to try and bounce back up so shouldn't we as fans stick with Cardiff City through the good and bad and these are not bad times?Yes we need to stick with it and believe in Ole, he will get there given time.

I will come back when we are playing in blue :ayatollah:

I haven't renewed because for me it doesn't feel like going to watch cardiff city no more, dosent feel like cardiff city just feels like a red shit franchise club.. I don't wanna pay to feed the franchise shit for Vincent tan so until we go back blue I will be staying away. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Re: WORRYING SEASON TICKET CONCERNS FOR NEXT SEASON ?

[quote="carlccfc"]Over the past few weeks a few comments have been made to me and I have read some posts on here regarding the season ticket renewals.

So I want to post a few of them as questions to get a feeling as to what other people feel about the season ticket renewals.

1. Were the club correct to put season tickets on sale in February for next season?

No I think they knew we may go down so they put them out early

2. Is the 15% price rise of season tickets too steep?

premier Yes championship No

3. Should the price be dependant on which division we are playing in next season?

Yes

4. Are you surprised to hear or read that up to 10,000 current season ticket holders have yet to renew?

Not really, I think alot of people have waited so long for promotion to the top flight and then it was a anti climax mainly
down to Tan spoiling it for us.

5. Have you renewed and if not, why not?

Yes I have renewed, and had a feeling we would be in the Championship, but I would have renewed regardless

6. Do you have an idea on how the club can get the missing thousands to renew?

I think Tan has pissed too many people off, they have had enough, so unless we get off to a flier next season i think we will be lucky to get 20000

7. With parachute payments, should we go down, the club will surely have resources to spend on transfers in the summer to try and bounce back up so shouldn't we as fans stick with Cardiff City through the good and bad and these are not bad times?

Yes we need stick together and back the club :bluescarf: :bluescarf: ]

This plus the 15% increase two years on the trot (33%) is just an absolute pisstake.

1 - no
2 - no
3 - yes,but the price freeze affects us lucky ones
4 - no,loads of non loyal fans and not as big fan base as some think

Re: WORRYING SEASON TICKET CONCERNS FOR NEXT SEASON ?

Wed Apr 09, 2014 11:49 am

The 15% price rise is excessive given the club do not know what league they are going to be playing in.

This season has been a disaster virtually from the off, with all the off field antics taking place. There has hardly been a month where something has happened that is not cringe worthy, the club has done itself no favours. Each time it happens it makes me feel like "why should I bother anymore"......but I do and I have re-newed all 3 tickets for next season.

A lot of people though I beleive have just had enough of the whole shooting match. This season should have been the best in most of our life times to date......but it was not. ...too much going on behind the scenes (and in public) which in my opinion has slowly filtered down to the playing squad who have just not performed to the standards they are capable of.

It feels like the whole club/support needs a breath of life into it. It could easily be attained by VT re-evaluating his business model which looks as if it is failing at present. Any business plan that has gone off the rails in any business would face self scrutiny. If there are going to be missing thousands next season then by simply turning us back to blue following a "business plan review" would certainly be a step in the right direction, that, followed by a commitment to keeping our best players (or most of them) together with money being made available to strengthen the squad to challenge again for promotion would see a lot of the missing thousands return.

If a businessman cannot re-evaluate a failing business plan....then how good is he ?

100 % YES

4. Are you surprised to hear or read that up to 10,000 current season ticket holders have yet to renew?

5. Have you renewed and if not, why not?

Surely we shouldnt need to spend more money, Malky spent 45/60m depending what you believe and Ole another 3/6m depending on what you believe. We need to sell a load of players and reduce the wage bill massively but we must surely have a squad in amoungst that lot. Any spending must be from player sales surely.
