You have surely got to be kidding !!

Caulker is twice the player of Williams on the ball and still 8 years younger than him.

When was the last time Williams stepped out of defence with the ball ? Caulker does it every game. Our problem is we haven't got a partner for him.

If he goes it will be to a big, top 6 club for at lesst £8m. Bookmark it !!

I will give you £15m for Caulker, Marshall and Mutch.

What you going to do fly them to oz and let them play in your back garden?

You don't own a football club. You can't buy them.

As mad as it sounds I think we will get our money back on both medel and caulker.... There is always some mad b*stard with more cash than brains. Who do you know who would have bought Kenwyn Jones ? Oh yes us !!!

Mutch will be interesting. I doubt he is on that much back in the championship, he will attarct a lot of clubs and his Englishness will double his real value.

Marshall is another we do not have to sell on, just signed a long deal obvoiusly to bump up any transfers £6~8 million

Not sure about nooney, getting on although not many miles or injuries on the clock. Has he done that much to get more than £3 million

Daehli will be going nowhere.

Williams steps out of defence with the ball every game.

He was Williams' understudy and looks to have gone backwards a bit without him by his side.

Williams is the better defender withiut doubt,

Caulker is not helped by having some of the worst fullbacks i have seen for city alongside him especially on saturday. Coupled with the fact he has had Turner also a young c.b. by him for the majority of the season. When we had psycho in our team he came on leaps and bounds when we signed Ratcliffe from the first games you could see him pointing to where he should be and talking throughout. Caulker has not had this luxury and i wonder how our seasonwould have panned out with hudson alongside him for a continued spell

Sorry but never in a million years is Williams better than Caulker even now.

No coincidence that ut is Caulker being talked about for a move to Liverpool or Spurs and not Williams !!

I'll take Brendan's judgement over yours thanks !!!

He wont go for more than £8m IMO.

If we all based our valuations on them every side would be worth billions. If andy carroll is worth £35m then bony is £120m on his own.

Caulker was on the open market and went to you guys, just promoted.

If Williams was then Liverpool and Arsenal would be calling for £10m

Never in a million years is Williams an Arsenal or Liverpool quality player as is evident by the fact that they have never come in for him. That despite the fact both have their defensive problems. The only time one of the big boys may take a chance on him is if he runs his contract down and so becomes ridiculously inexpensive.
Time will tell but that's my opinion.

He is good enough for any side in the Prem.

Liverpool havent bid for Van Persie either, hes pretty handy.

What a ridiculous reply. They haven't bid for Messi either then and are unlikely too. The fact is they would have bid for Williams if they had thought he was good enough as he would have jumped at the chance. Liverpool instead chose to buy two foreign defenders with more potential than a player who will be 30 this Summer and who has probably now missed his chance of playing for the big club that he craves.
Like I say unless he runs down his contract which expires in 2015.

It is exaxtly the same.

It is nothing to do with Williams jumping at the chance, hes under contract. Liverpool would have to fork out £10m to land him which is a lot for a 29/30 year old from a small club.

Italian press are linking him this morning with a move to Napoli in the summer.

So no Liverpool link then as they never had any intention of signing someone who is not up to the standard they require. They preferred to spend £23m+ on Sakho and Lloris.
A fee that would have bought Williams three times over if Rodgers had wanted him.
Clearly not interested.
Overrated by Swansea fans for years.

Its not besides the point at all. You seem to think anyone Liverpool haven't bid for means they are not good enough.

Van Persie went to Man Utd for £20m, they could have matched that as you proved just now.

Never said that. They do fall into the categories of 'not good enough', 'not needed' or 'not obtainable' mind. van Persie falls into the 2nd or 3rd category and Williams in my opinion is firmly in the 1st category.
only a small point but since you are usually so pedantic, Van Persie cost a reported £24M not £20M but still affordable to Liverpool if they had wanted to spend that on a 28 year old with attitude problems.
Personally I think they have done quite well with the younger prolific strike force they have.

£20m, £24m the point remains.

Williams is in the unattainable bracket as we wouldnt let him go for what thier owners would allow him to bid. Simple.

I don't know how long Ash has on his contract, but if liverpool were serious about putting in an offer, there is no way Huw could hold him back.... Its 2014 and as much I believe Ash is a model professional, his agent would be all over it.... The players have the power nowdays.

Huw Jenkins has a long history of not allowing our players to go unless on our terms. See Ferrie Bodde and Joe Allen for details.
