A forum for all things Cardiff City

I have just voted to give Ole the chance in the Championship.
When all is said and done, it is unfair that Ole or any manager should be judged using another managers squad, whether or not you believe those players are good enough they are not his players or his choice of players.
That dies not detract from any criticism I have for Ole and some of his tactics, he has got certain games very wrong but there have been displays of obvious improvement too.
If anyone is to blame it is the man at the helm Vincent Tan.
Tan does not have the knowledge or the structure in place to deal with matters such as replacing a manager with another one to make the appointment as smooth as possible.
I have said before that Ole was appointed at the wrong time, that is not Ole's fault so for that reason I believe he should at least have his own pre-season clear out, bring in his own type of players and see what he can do up until at least Christmas in the Championship to see what he is capable of with his own squad and his own stamp on it.
Hopefully this post will also dismiss the theory that all the mods on this board are against Ole as well.

Not a lot of point in polls on this forum, as this is used by only a small minority of fans. Interesting to see though that less than 25% of the votes are actually in favour of sacking him now.

If Ole is sacked, Daehli will leave as well. Close sources to both of them more or less confirms this. Only reason Daehli chose Cardiff was because of Solskjaer.
Ole likes to plan for the future, so his choice was possibly not the best. Maybe he should have chosen a club from championship instead (Like Wigan manager Rösler), but I guess playing in the prem was too tempting for him. That said, I am 100% sure that sacking Ole now will only hurt the club and will make next season far harder.

There's no point sacking him now. He needs to be given a chance to build in the summer.

The fact 40 people voted to sack him prove our fans are moronic as hell

Anyone read 'The Secret Footballer' book or blog? I'm sure players talk to each other and know what the story is at different clubs.
With the shit going on at our club, which decent players do you think would want to come to our basket case of a football club when we're in the Championship, playing in front of our wonderfully happy home fans with a Bond villain owner who will never turn the club back to blue, which is what the fans want.
If I was a player with options, I'd look for a more promising opportunity - would you want to do battle on a Saturday in front of our fans at our stadium? If I didn't have options, I might take the cash on offer and hope I had a thick enough skin to not let the fans get to me. These players aren't the right option for Cardiff City FC standing a chance of bouncing back up next year.
Same applies to managers of any real ability - why on earth would you take up this challenge? Doesn't look a smart move unless cash is your primary motivation or you don't have any other options. I suggest we are in danger of only attracting Journeyman and NOT people that truly care about achieving results at Cardiff City FC and play with pride for themselves and their club.
Therefore, I suggest giving Ole a chance to build a squad of people with the right attitude and motivation - naive as he may be, I don't hear anyone questioning his integrity. Let's hope he's a fast learner. If results aren't happening after 12 games into the Championship season next year after he's picked his own team with the values he holds as important, i.e. the stuff you cannot change in people - that's the time to give up on our manager.

I'm sorry but after over 3 months, Ole still doesn't know what his best formation or best team is and constantly picks the wrong starting line up meaning we start slowly and are always playing catch up. Ole has turned us into a soft touch and a disorganised mess. Daehli has been his only signing that will prove Premiership quality in the future. We can never play as a settled team with an understanding because of the constant changeover of players. Leicester got promoted last weekend only using 16 players all season. They were an organised unit, the players knew each other inside out and they fought together as a united team.
We have gone from beating Swansea and West Brom at home 1-0 under Malky, keeping clean sheets and winning the games that counted to losing 4-0 and 3-0 at home to teams we finished 8 points clear of last season under Ole. I feel sorry for Ole that Tan has put him in this position. Ole is not ready and his interview after last Saturday's game shows he should not be our manager. You don't say the team ran out of belief and ideas as the belief and ideas in a team comes from the manager. I like Ole as a person, but he needs to go.

We lost to Palace under Malky as well but for some reason you fail to mention that (plus it is no surprise you mentioned Malky AGAIN)
You are an odd poster to say the least.

he sent a pair of his wifes knickers to Malky for him to sign

We may have finished 8 points clear of some teams last season, but they were cleverer than us in the transfer market, and chose not to waste £8 million on someone who was clearly not good enough for premiership football.

How many players with PL quality does the club really got? 2? 3?

Maximum of 2 or 3, and they are a long way from being top quality at this level.

I make it 61% back him, 39% say sack him at the mo.
I say back him, it's still mostly Malky's squad and the players Ole has brought in have mostly looked quite good.

Dont think weve ever had such a even split in a poll done en masse like this.

Everyone with a brain knows to survive in this division, you have to win your games at home against your relegation rivals. Malky had a 100% record with this beating Swansea and West Brom, keeping clean sheets in both games. Those are the key games that count. Ole did beat Fulham at home and also Norwich at home (fortunately). However, losing 2-0 home to West Ham, 4-0 home to Hull and 3-0 home to Palace will be the key games which will send us down. A better manager wouldn't have lost those games, a better manager would have ensured our opponents left with absolutely nothing. But that's why we were above the relegation zone before Ole and have fallen into the relegation zone under Ole.

No point changing with so little games left to go - Get rid in the summer and go after PULIS!

At least Ole is trying out different options.
Basically Ole has just a championship side with a couple of signings added to our squad
They did sack the recruitment, both of them remember?

He is a cracking bloke and is really trying his best, and will try and entertain us.
That said he doesn't seem to have a clue, and although I really like the bloke, I wouldn't trust him to get us up, so personally if I had £180 Million at stake, I would sack him now.
I would get a new Manager in now if available to have a look at what we have, and work out who to let go and who to bring in to stop us conceding three or four goals a game to shit teams like Palace, West Brom, Swansea and Hull.......

I believe he will walk or get sacked the minute we are relegated. Tan and his son cannot keep their noses out of team affairs

listen this could be a huge gamble now keeping him for the championship, if he well and truely does f-up then we could be looking at a 10 year rebuild at the club, i say 10 year because players will leave, finances will be screwed and we have to start again
Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:19 pm
Very divided our fans on Ole, interesting though

Madness to sack him. Things haven't gone well so far but this is not his mess he has taken over. Can only truly judge after a full summers work and a proper chance to get the results in the Championship. I'd give him all of next season and if we are clearly going nowhere then get rid.

Out of 270 votes, there are 58 people that want ole gone. So it looks like the majority are behind the manager which is good to see.
Wed Apr 09, 2014 1:46 pm
Glad to see the vote in the end is backing Ole and want to give him time. The fans who voted against must be feeling silly
