To me, I cannot see it at all. He has some good points but for the money we paid he is badly lacking. He should be dominating games and be an influential figure in midfield but he has not imposed himself in most of our games this season.
He runs around a lot but to little effect. If he was intended to be protection for the back four the amount of goals we have conceded this season would suggest that he has been singularly unsuccessful.
He was meant to be a pitbull but has been more like a poodle. His sideways and backwards passing is becoming a joke - there's no point looking for the ball from Turner only to give it straight back to him! Disappears from the game for long periods and once a player gets past him he is never able to recover and catch them up - he looks slow and overweight.
Would seem to have no leadership qualities and today he played like someone who knew they wouldn't be here next seaso. Ridiculous foul to give away which lead to their second goal also.
Another Malky signing who has not really provided value for a considerable sum of money.

Because he's a defensive midfielder it's not an obvious impact - but analyse the game and you will see what a difference he makes to the team

Medel seems to prefer slower paced leagues, hence why he stood out at Sevilla. He is always chasing shadows and blowing out of his arse around 60 minutes.
He was excellent against Swansea & City and that has been it. I'd be shocked if we made half of it back and anyone who thinks a Prem team will come in for him is kidding themselves. He'll go back to Spain most likely where he suits the style.
