I think the reason people are creaming about it is because Roathie often brags about how he is always right etc... I dare say that if he didn't do that, people wouldn't be that bothered.

The only reason i do that is because of the reactions to my correct opinions in the first place. Im called a troll for saying them. When im proven correct i think due to the reaction then it is only fair to highlight the point.

Everybody assumed he had a choice, thats what normally happens in a pre contract agreement. In the result of a relegation or a bigger club coming in then the player can opt out. Its happened many times before and will happen many times again. This is the first time ive ever heard of one being "watertight" hence he had no choice.
