Maybe it was just the shittest signing a promoted club has made in years

i genuinley hope that is the case after hearing alternative theories from people who are presumably ITK

The cornelius signing is the main reason we will be relegated IMO. If loic remy was signed we would of stayed up, the failure to sign a good right and left back fukt us over as well. To much money spent on to little players.

Really?. I'd blame the players on the field, not some 20 year old that played about 200 minutes post serious injury.

Loic Remy is massively out of our league. He has hopes of going to the World Cup, no chance would he have signed for us.

Medel is going to the world cup, he signed for us.

Money talks, and Remy signed for QPR when they were nailed on for relegation.

We were throwing enough money around to land someone like Remy.

Champagne pockets, Coca-Cola signings is what we got last summer.

All that said we could have signed Lionel Messi and Malky would have still had Turner hoofing it back to front.

Medel and Caulker make up for the rubbish signings for me.

Lets face it, if the players were performing on the field, the Cornelius deal would hardly be mentioned.

We can blame who bought what and when, but it comes down to a talented squad not playing as they should.

Some clubs have had some absolute stinkers of transfers, Andy Carroll £35million, Torres 50 million, Eric Lamela 35 million, Fellaini £25 million.

I'd say apart from Cornelius & Brayford, our money has been quite well spent. Maybe not well spent for a newly promoted team but hasn't Tan been banging on our potential? That is what Mackay tried to match.

Money quite well spent

Spent 35m+ and still playing with a championship team plus a new centre half and defensive midfielder

Also, Hull spent a fraction of what we spent and upgraded most positions.

The difference is those clubs can afford to buy stinkers because they have good squads. We had one shot at the prem and malky fukt it with his signings. Whereas caulker and Medel were good signings, he still spent over 20 mil on the two, whereas he could of bought curtis Davies and huddlestone for 7.5 mil and had 12.5 left over, imagine who else could of been bought for that 12.5. Swansea also paid 1 mil for Chico, nothing for canas, 7 odd mil for Shelvey. Malky was clueless in the market and that's what has fukt us, our poor squad depth.

I can remember how annoyed people were in the summer that no transfers were being made. If I remember rightly, we hadn't bought anyone when Palace and Hull were bringing in loads.

It seems we went for small number of good players rather than getting in a load of decent players.

When Hull made the signings of Curtis Davies and Huddlestone (who at the time was total shit for spurs) I bet no one on here cared for them. In hindsight we could say, why didn't Mackay chuck a bid in the any number of players.

We are better than Palace, their squad is gash. It is about organising the team to win games that matters, which is what Mackay in half a season and Ole in about 10 games have failed to do.

We could say Ole would have done better with the £30 million but who knows?.

You can see why we were all annoyed now, because hull and palace are doing better because they signed players earlier and built decent squads capable of survival.

Its not hindsight either, search "Huddlestone" and go back to the transfer window and plenty of people wanted him before Hull signed him, and once he did sign plenty of people stating how good a signing he was going to be.

They were not wrong.

Imagine huddlestone next to Medel, would of been a good pairing, allowing for our wingers to push forward, if malky signed any of course, because he did not like to use no one for some reason :?

How much was he worth?

He's available for 10 apparently but that's after a good season for Newcastle. I reckon 8/9 could have got him last summer.

sure i read somrwhere his wages are huge..?

Huddlestone was complete shit for spurs last year. Over weight and just crap.

Go back to the spurs forum the end of last year and youll see why.
