Barry Chuckle wrote:Welcome to the general public & their apathy to do anything. If you are expecting every single person who is against the rebrand to have marched, well that's very naive.

I know several who are against the rebrand but didn't march. I'd guess that everyone else does too. Marches just aren't their "thing". Only a certain type of fan will attend marches, but that doesn't mean only those are against the rebrand.

The scarves protest gave EVERYONE at CCFC the chance to show that they are against the rebrand & boy did they!

Again, everyone can be against the rebrand and it wont change a jot. Tan is happy.

Now how many of those against it would oppose it? The answer is 10-15% as Tan already alluded to.

The 85% may not be happy with the rebrand (as the scarves may have shown) but they are happy enough to have a rebranded club for his cash loans.. Hence their lack of attemdance on the protest march.

Totally missing my point, but never mind.

So were 40% of fans happy with Petty's tenure at Swansea then?

Its not about being happy, it is about willing to oppose.

And no, 40% weren't willing to oppose him. Luckily the majority were.

It would be better to count the amount of people who held up scarves and sang blue songs, I think that would be a more reasonable number around 50% to 80%

And as they were rightly told....

Its not about supporting it, its is about not opposing it. And those that didnt march yet were there onlooking - didnt oppose it.

Holding up a cardiff scarf is not an opposition.

Ofcourse it is.

How about flipping this slightly and asking how many Cardiff fans wore red on Saturday?
A very very low single figure percentage would be my estimate!

Doesnt matter.

It doesn't matter as long as Tan is here determined to keep us red, but from a debate point of view and making reference to the thread title.
I bet if you take every single Cardiff fan who wore colours on Sat, you would really struggle to come near to 10% ........ACTUALLY WEARING RED :bluescarf:

Again, it isnt about people not liking red it is about people willing to oppose red.

Which is why the flipped question doesnt work.

Stop being so ignorant. It's not about wearing blue.

The fact that it's hard to spot one red shirt in the crowd shows how much support Tan and his rebrand is getting. 10%, you're having a laugh.

He is getting just as much support for his rebrand as you are all there cheering his creation on and handing over your cash without a murmur.

10% was indeed the figure that is willing to oppose it.

Think about it, did he rebrand you so everyone was happy? Or did he rebrand you because he wanted to? The fact you are happy or not doesnt come into it. Whether you are willing to oppose it indeed comes into it - and only 10% are.

Its as simple as that.

There is a huge difference between opposing and not supporting though. Just because the majority of our fanbase didn't make an effort to go to Canton and march doesn't mean that they support Tan.

Tan said "I would say even 90 per cent of the fans are supportive", if you believe that then you're deluded.

They are supportive though, they pay the money and they cheer on the team. You can be supportive of something but still not like it - that statement is true for 90% of supporters.

Going by that token then, anyone who attended Swansea games under Tony Petty was supportive of Petty?

 how many times do we have this conversation?

Everyone pretty much to a man that paid the £4 to get in vocally abused Petty for 90 mins until he was forced to leave by advice of the police with Colin Addison stating it was the most shocking thing he had seen in all his years of football, including the tumultuous time he had as manager of Atletico Madrid. The football wasnt even an issue the days of the protest, nobody cared.

You guys held up a scarf for a minute and went back to hoping you stay in the league with Tan pumping in more loans :D

The issue here however is 90% of your fans being unwilling to oppose it regardless of if they like the rebrand or not.

If you say that those who pay are supportive of tan, then by the same theory, those who paid were supportive of Petty.

:D no its not though as we have discussed several times.

Petty didn't create a brand for people to support, it was the same swansea city. Nothing changed apart from the owner. We paid the paltry sum of £4 to get our message across VOCIFEROUSLY for 90 mins to force him to sell.

Comparing that to paying £30 a head to hold a scarf for a minute and then go back to supporting his creation is ridiculous.

Re: 10%? You're having a laugh!!

Price doesn't matter, the fact is that you criticise Cardiff fans for paying to watch games when they dislike the owner, when Swansea fans did exactly the same thing a few years ago.

I see that as total hypocrisy.

Sadly, I have to say that you will always only get a minority defending something like that in the premiership. You have your hardcore fan base, but the rest is made up of day trippers who wouldn't be seen dead there if we were playing the likes of Rochdale.

Easier to get a majority in league 2 as the crowd is a hardcore bunch.

 Barry this is insane. Do you not listen to replies? They are different situations so how can the same apply? Of course price matters.

Surely it depends on what you do once entering the ground? You seem to be totally ignoring that just as you do every single time we discuss this? Wouldnt it be easier to just read over the other conversations?

I see that as total hypocrisy.

then you need to re adjust your eyes and understand the differences in the situations. You go to support for 89 minutes and "protest" for 1 minute, we went to protest for 90 mins and support for 0.

Sadly, I have to say that you will always only get a minority defending something like that in the premiership. You have your hardcore fan base, but the rest is made up of day trippers who wouldn't be seen dead there if we were playing the likes of Rochdale.

this is my point is it not? 10% of your fanbase are willing to go out of theor way to protest, the rest are there to watch high level football.

Easier to get a majority in league 2 as the crowd is a hardcore bunch.

im not saying it isnt. But we cant just make it up because its harder to get a majority.

Roathie, please don't tell me that I have to reassess and change my opinion. You have an opinion & respect the fact that other people may disagree with it.

I see it as huge hypocrisy. That's my opinion.

PS - I certainly don't protest for one minute only.

Its nonsense and you know it.

You are trying to say that paying £4 to oust a chairman is the same as paying £30 to watch the football is the same.

Its lunacy.

It was only a months ago you wrote this to me after several of the exact same conversations remember.....

I agree which you on many things, on the rebrand, but not this.

Just because I agree with you on the rebrand, doesn't mean I can't think disagree with you on other matters.

I see any Swansea fan criticising Cardiff fans for attending when against Tan as hypocrisy, as they did exactly that with Petty.

That's my opinion & you can't tell me that's wrong.
