im pretty sure he offered to walk away and not invest huge sums of money?
at that point WE should have said no..........and didnt

Spot on :ayatollah:

WE DID f**k ALL ABOUT IT THEN.. and now people want to turn it on him.......we are the cunts and wankers { myself included }.

We are I agree but we were not organised enough at the time and also splintered which made it easy for Tan to dismiss our opposition. Hopefully now that the various groups have united then we have a chance of all pulling in the same direction and send a united message that will carry more weight.

You seem to have the aims of the march all wrong. :thumbright:

No i have the aim the way it should be. Show support, an continue working on dialog. Thats how i belive the adult world work and why i have joined the trust. If anyone belive this is exactly what the march is about, they should read back if only on this forum a month back. But i hope its a good march and we reach our goals to win back our colour and badge :ayatollah:

Adult world my arse. There is no working dialogue with this dictator. At best he will allow us to talk with a representative of the club just to mildly appease the fans and throw us the crumbs off his red table. The march is primarily for the return to blue. A secondary result of this march is that its also aimed at Tan indirectly because he is the sole person responsible for the removal of the colours and the two issues are not easy to separate. Now that our splintered factions have united for the return to blue then we now have a real chance of getting somewhere. :ayatollah:

your spot on in saying he is the sole person responsible for us being red, ive never once heard a Cardiff fan wish us red when we were blue............he is also the only..ONLY person capable of returning us to blue, and no matter how unlikely that seems, calling a man you want something from a c**t and a wanker really is not how its done.......and the very 1st protest march was led by a tan go home banner..great stuff........TAF

Thats all I am saying is that you cannot separate the two issues as a march with a primary aim of wanting blue back is also an indirect vote against the man responsible. We all know that any action carries the risk of him leaving and we can dress it up as a blue march as much as we like but its really a vote of no confidence in what our owner has done and ultimately a vote against Tan himself. I do think however that fans have now reached the point where they are now prepared to risk the owner leaving rather than lose what we have left of our identity.

ive thought long and hard about it..........no matter which way you twist it,those that say Saturday is an anti Tan protest are spot on........he is aware how many would prefer blue by the bowl.............myself ,i fear for the club, its not relatively small debt anymore { was when he rebranded and we all hid }.....i would love there to be a poll of ST holders regarding confidence in the owner..no loaded questions thats answers can be taken a number of ways { as with the trusts } a simple do you have confidence in our chairman..yes or no..........i think its fair to say everyone or at least a huge majority of those voting either way ideally would prefer blue.

Absolutely. Tan may pretend to to listen to the fans but he will only pay lip service to us. He will go through the motions of setting up some puppet who will meet with a fans group down the stadium but it will be more of an exercise in giving us a platform to vent our anger more than anything else and will be set up to only appease the fans. Anyone thinking that he is doing anything other than throwing us crumbs from his red table are deluded.

I think more dictator in the guise of a control freak. It is hard to ignore that he will interfere even with squad issues and also remember that the board is not made up of multiple shareholders who could have a balanced say in the boadroom as Tan owns nearly all the shares so there will never be any democracy. I am afraid that he believes that he saved us therefore he can do whatever he wants.

You seem to struggle with the meaning for the word dictator. It suits VT totally.

Don't make the regular error that being called a dictator automatically compares him to Hitler or Kim Jong Un.

Take a look at the literal definition & it is an accurate description of him.

If Tan is stubborn and cannot see that the rebrand has failed then we cannot afford to wait a couple of years till the penny drops as in this time he will have taken all of our identity away until we have nothing left to support. For the first time we are united for a return to blue and while we were splintered in the past it was easy for Tan to dismiss our anger but we now have a chance to send him a clear message but getting him to accept it may be another matter.

most clubs in this country have a majority shareholder, and i suppose your rite, once a single person has all the power they dictate how their business is run,but that isnt just football, its all businesses,i suppose im a dictator myself.....
football isnt a democracy, or at least not in the UK.

If the figures in the op are correct we should see about 20,000 on the march Saturday

Lets be honest if the protest doesn't get over 5,000 20% then it'll be a failure. The march will give you a more realistic number.

I think you rather should look at the association with dictatorship and maybe read books like " the two democratic models" by george sabine. This will lead you further to the true meaning. What you are talking about is capitalism, which "captive state" by monbiot will give you an exelent insight reading. Much closer to what Tan is doing ;)

5000 rubbish. Half that would suffice and would reflect the dissatisfaction with the rebrand. Remember that the majority of the stadium is blue and the majority of fans sing pro blue chants, that's enough of an endorsement for me. Stick your red as it won't be around much longer and remember that the times they are a changing.
