You will never get the likes of The Goodies, Dusty Forge, The Plymouth, Yellow Kangaroo, The Crown (College Rd) and The Bulldog again (thank God). Like the Wild West. Outsiders were definitely not made welcome!

I'd forgotten The Bulldog, if it is/was the one at the bottom of Pentrebane Hill? Definitely top 3 material if so...

Remember doing my apprentership in a factory in Cardiff and going to Ely with a boy called Will Carol whose old man was running the highfields..........jesus.....a valley boy walking in there.......had some strange looks and the sweat was running down my back for about an hour.....once they realised i was a city fan, things got a lot easier and i was well pissed by the end of the night.

I had a motorbike pinched off Heol Trelai several years ago and I ran in there asking if anybody had seen it. It was probably behind the bar.

Probably raffled it.
The bridge was a bit tasty in the 90s

The Bridge, my local, every now and then it opens back up for a couple of months. Don't last long though

Jesus, yeah I knew Spot, top top feller. He was one of the older heads up there, but always had time for us younger reprobates. The plaque is still there mate.

Is the Bosun still there? Used to call in occasionally when I was working in Sharpe & Fisher, in Collingdon Road, BITD. Nobody bothered us, though.

The Plymouth in St Fagans ?

No, The Plymouth in Grangetown. Was on the corner of Holmesdale St and Clive St. Nasty smelly place mainly inhabited by druggies and glue sniffers in its latter years.

It's in CAERAU not Ely, anyway from what I can gather they ran him over but I'm sure we will know everything soon. Seems some head case just released went a bit mental.

Apparently hacked his own fingers off with a machete in the mele. Few of the locals 'restrained' him apparently. Rumour that he is dead. Only a rumour tho
