Declan John overrated

Problem with Declan John is he isn't a left/right back, he's more of a winger if anything. Remember how crap Bale was when he was being used as left back? John is pretty similar situation, I think he should change position

Seeing as you know Bales career so well, at 18 he had just signed for Spurs and was scoring, free kicks too, and then had a serious injury just before Xmas that kept him out for the rest of the season.

He was also scoring for Wales before he was 18.

So at 18 he was showing far, far more promise than John.

my point..as you well know...was backing up the point that left back might not be Declan best position......Bale had a flying start for Spurs as you say scoring, BUT did he struggle?.....was there a point where Spurs considered selling him because with him at left back they couldnt win?..he certainly was not sold for a world record as a left back..was he jellybean........
im not for 1 second comparing Decs to the Bale of NOW...at 18 no one thought Bale would turn out as he has, apart from maybe you

He suffered some injuries and couldnt get back in at left back, talk of him going out on loan but Redknapp said he was never going to sell him.

Before the injuries he had shown enough qualitites for Southampton, Wales and Spurs to show he had far, far, more ability than Declan has.

Theres only one 18 year old kid who potentially has the ability to be a world class player like Bale and thats Luke Shaw at Southampton.

I want Declan to do well, seeing as hes from the same part of town as me, but these comparisons with Bale are ludicrous.

i dont think Decs is destined for a world record fee...thats not my point { it wasnt even my point in the begining }.

Give the kid a break, I'd rather have him in the team with his potential than Taylor. John has loads to learn & improve on, but what a fantastic place to learn his trade.
