What a contradiction.

You want to integrate and be accepted as a normal football supporter but then want your own section.

F*ck off

The problem is ignorance, you dont have issues with family stands, so why have an issue with a gay area? The families sit together because they dont want to hear you all swearing, and we want to sit together because of hetro male biggotry

So what, shall we have a black only section, an asian section, people with ginger hair section, a bald section, a fat section, a midget section?

Get a grip you elitist prat.

Have you ever considered that many minority people love football, but dont go because they are scared of aggressive white hetro men? surely we should do everything we can to encourage a broad church, both in terms of diverse colour and sexuality

Many minority people do go to the football and dont place such demands as having their own section.

In effect, white hetro men have their own stand (95% of the stadia) , so do families, but you dont want us gays to have a small section, why are you so ignorant? :old:

Nonsense

right, so now you think white hetro men do not make up the vast majority of the gate? I think you need to see an optician lol

I will entertain the idea that you are actually serious on this and respond accordingly. Why do you think that you are a "minority" group which needs special status. We are all unique individuals coming in different flavours and sizes and creating a section for gay guys to be separate stinks of elitism. I don't care if you prefer men over ladies, what i do care for is if you are passionate about our team and that's the only separation needed (Home/away). Family stand, i get due to the colorful language for the kids. Any other segregation is not needed.

Maybe we have a female only section so they do not get offended when the C word gets used?

The premise is, that a certain section of support makes it difficult for other sections, this is proven by the development of family stands to segregate kids away from distasteful behaviour. With regards to women, I expect most have just come to accept that whilst many men would never use terrible language in front of their mothers, its fine to use in front of somebody elses mother, and they have no respect.

I dont see any problem with Gay Cardiff sitting together, its not like we want a section renamed "Bummers end" or something, but if we want to sit and hold hands together like a couple, then we dont want abuse for it.

But you wont get abused and if you do i am confident of Cardiff fans self policing. Isn't the goal of LGB groups to prevent discrimination? surely self discrimination is more harmful? 99% of hetero males will have the attitude of "I don't care if you like guys, that's your business" they also will not stand for gay bashing around them. If a gay couple in my section was to receive abuse from our own fans i for one wouldn't stand for it

If thats the case, why does it not work for men shouting "you dirty f*cking c*nt" at players when there are women sat around them?

What you are basically saying is fans would self police anti gay bigotry, although there is little evidence that they ever do when it comes to other problems!

What your describing is banter, not malicious homophobia where individual people are attacked. I think some of the chants/shouts coming out of the stands are shocking but to be fair its part and parcel of supporting a football team and partly why i love it. I think the gay utopia you seek already exists and it is called the grandstand :ayatollah:

Good logic indeed.

That's the problem, vile and disrespectful behaviour is normalised and dismissed as "banter", like hissing at Totenham fans "just banter mate" or saying Bradford is all Pakis " just football init"

At the end of the day, my argument is supported by fact, not opinion, and the fact is that families have had to be segregated because of the problem of aggressive behaviour, profanity & bigotry.

I think after a period of sitting together in one area, we can then see if we are accepted , and if so, then mix in with other fans.

We may even turn a few gay! :thumbright:

Am I the only person who has never seen a gay person attacked for being gay?.

If you want to bum a man, carry on, go to town on him. Do I care? No.

What annoys me is when you start making an issue over nothing. You say you enjoy the atmosphere before, during and after games then you claim the fans are homophobic.

Just shut up and go watch the football, all the rest is paranoia in your head.

Like i said the anti-discriminatory utopia is in the grandstand. What you seem to be calling for is the banning of vile/offensive language that may offend minority groups. What do you think that gay segregation would achieve? i personally think it would increase the levels of discomfort not alleviate them, that said out of interest what do your 27 fellow GCCFC supporters think of being put on display in their separate enclosure? I can imagine they will feel as though they are being singled out which is contradictory to the aims you hope to achieve

We only have 27 members at the moment, but I hope to grow it to a few hundred. Unfortunately, some members are married men with children, so it would not be possible for them to sit in the gay area, but other members are the sort who like to push it down other peoples throats, and have no problem with making a gay positive statement

Yes, I agree with you, its the pub afterwards for the fun.

However, if there is a goal, we might like a hug/kiss to celebrate (much like players do) and I know some men are a bit ignorant and dont like to see men kissing, which is why, initially, we will be happy in the gay segregated area of the ground

Re: Dispatches anti gay chants | Cardiff gay supporters

I think they should have a gay only section. They should also get stewards to hand out free stones/rocks and at half time, for normal peoples pleasure, we can hurl them into that section.

Ravanelli can wrap certain stones/rocks with a linen soaked in an accelerant so we can use these at night matches for visual effect.

See loads of men jumping up and down hugging and high fiving when a goal is scored. I've even hugged my wife during a goal celebration, but I'm hardly going to start passionately necking her for a couple of minutes just because we score, and neither of us are gay.
