The amount of ground he covers, I'm not surprised he gets cramp, he works his arse off fair play.

Que some selective stat about a Swansea player running more in a game :sleepy2:

Compete myth, i think he probably covers less ground than any other midfield player you have. His mobility is atrocious, he is rooted to a small patch in the centre of the midfield, hence why he couldnt handle Hernandez when he came on.

He reminds me of Jan Molby without the talent.

Sadly, their messageboard, as is their 'City', is pretty shitty and so their thickos, fantasists and other general failures come over here to post (apart from Scotsjack). At least they've got the football to take their minds off things.

Go into a 50/50 with him pal let's see how you come out of the other side. El Gypo.

Now I know this might come as a complete shock to you but Roathie is not a proffesional footballer. Neither are you or I, so no, we certainly wouldn't go into a 50/50 challenge with someone who is profficient and earning thousands of pounds a week to do so! Keep it mind yeah? :thumbright:

64 Jack, you are correct. However id say most of us have played football, some to a decent standard in our lives.

If offered to take on Medel I would jump at the chance. Not because I think id get past him, but just as an opportunity to play against a Prem player. Fear wouldnt even come into it. Id be more scared about going into a challenge with Charlie Adam than Medel and thats a fact.

Surely that makes no sense? If 'our' messageboard was so shitty then being the thicko, fantasists that you claim us to be then we would be quite happy there would we not? And if we only have the football to take our mind off things then... this is a football message board isn't it? So here we are! :?

I don't go as overboard as some on here about him but he is our most combative midfielder. I was expecting a little bit more for him with the money we paid and is reputation but his performances of late have been better. The jacks go on about stats to rate a player and we know they like their stats but there's nothing like watching them in the flesh. Perhaps they should try it sometime

Think the pitbull tag is in reference to his squashed up chops and fat short legs.

We didn't give him the name mind it was either the argentinian or Spanish media.

Watching in the flesh! Try going to Southport when they were in the league (you wouldn't remember them I suppose!), losing 2-1 on a Tuesday night in January and sleeping in a phone box because there were no trains back that night! Thats watching in the flesh! ;)

I have heard of Southport by Liverpool isn't it never been can't remember us playing them. We can all chuck one of those in. Hartlepool Tuesday night lost 3 nil and Eddie may stuck his fingers up and told us to f # #s off. Flat tyre on the transit got home six in the morning. Anyway you should be used to sleeping in phone boxes

That's a derby for you some teams get up for it more than others. We did that day more than i can remember for a long time and medel was one of those players. I have only seen your lot in the derbies and snippets now and again on motd but i wouldn't judge any of your players just from those games. So unless your watching us all the time how can you make these judgements fairly

I bet you most Swans fans have seen most of your games with us very rarely playing at the same time.

Ive probably seen 80% of your games this season, and he has been nothing short of average, maybe even slightly below.

I posted on a thread the other day that out of the 20 starting DMC's in the Prem he is the 19th best this season.

Yet again because you posted something it as to be true.what is it based on is it based on experts views or stats. No one is saying he is the best if he were he wouldn't be playing for us .You have had a thing about medel since the first couple of games when you were comparing his contribution to Canas. You might have watched 80% of our games which is sad as you think we are so pathetic are you someone who's into inflicting pain on yourself then. Just don't get it personally if I was living where you do the last thing I would be doing is watching Swansea just so I could go on planet swans and gloat and cause general resentment. You let your self down time and time again by not leaving things alone and always having to have the last word even when most of what you say is not far away. Your fascination with stats is strange perhaps gridiron is more your thing since they use them more than any other sport. Then you can go and argue on the miami dolphins forum with half their database

Re: El Pitbull????

No I'm not saying that. Most people come on here to express their views or debate. I don't expect everyone to agree with everything i say but you seem to take the hump if someone has the audacity to question your logic. Like I said there have been times where I and possibly others on this site have agreed with you but because you don't get 100 % approval you go on and on and eventually the thread gets derailed. Like this thread I am not in agreement with you but i can see how some people don't rate him as much as others. Just throwing stats at something doesn't prove it all.

How has is thread been derailed? And where have I got the hump that someone disagrees? All my comments have been respectful to fellow posters and on topic.... Well until you changed to to a topic about me of course.

He was told to have superb ground covering skills. Surely I have a right to disagree, state he is confined to a small area in the center of the pitch and to my credit back it up with quite clear evidence over a 90 minute period his role.

It seems people get offended when I prove them wrong. Not my issue really is it.

Re: El Pitbull????

Didn't say you derailed this thread. I was on about other threads. I haven't been personal either.
anyway you don't rate medel fair enough but you are basing your entire arguments without ever seeing him in the flesh and only judging him by what the cameras catch him doing or some thermal imaging stat. A good example where stats can be misleading is Chris pike scored a hatful for Cardiff and people who didn't watch city would say what a player seen his goals the other day on the television. He wouldn't make it on many city fans dream team. To judge a player you have to see them properly and that's not on the television

well I have asked where, you are yet to point one out. I can say "you abuse people all the time" and then when asked where say "oh other threads". Meaningless unless you can show me examples.

so the cameras deliberately switch to another player when he has the ball to trick me? Or are you claiming when the camera catches a 35 yard radius around the ball, he is doing something amazing that tricks both the viewers at home and the thermal imagery that tracks his movement? :?

What are these things the viewer at home cannot see then? Im all ears and completely open to suggestion.

thats because people would look at hos stats or highlights. Ive seen 80% of Medels full 90 minute matches. So I ask again, what is he doing that the viewer at home cant see?

Re: El Pitbull????

Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:36 pm

Are you saying then that the camera picks up everything. Naive. Can the camera pick up his organising of other players. I doubt it. If watching theĀ televisionĀ is the best way to judge players or teams why do international managers go around the club's assessing players for future squads. Why do managers go to watch other teams they are going to play in the near future. What's the point in sending scouts to look at players/teams. There as got to be a reason but because you can highlight in red I'm sure you'll have the answer
