Yes your right. But when they sell your debt on...........dont walk home from the pub on your own and get some dead bolts put on all your doors........because they will be coming looking for their money....one way or another.

Dont be so dramatic. Can you imagine the crap payday companies would get if all their clients who didnt pay got beaten up lol

Its not the pay day loan companies im on about..........your debt can be sold on 3 or 4 times and some of the companies who recover money are here today gone tomorrow and dont give a shit.Hey you do what you like fella its no skin off my nose, but be carefull when advising other people who may have kids and family. You might not want to see it, or cant see it but there are plenty of desperate people out there who will do other peoples dirty work for a price.
Be Carefull...be lucky.. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Great advice Craig ffs,it goes to show what idiots are on this board, the guy asks for advice and you feed him that crap.

not crap mate, if your credit rating is that bad and you end up in court, just make a resonable offer of say £1 month to pay back and they cant refuse it. Thats why i specifically mentioned a shit credit rating.

Your a f*cking plumb fair play.

If you lend £700 an think making an offer of £1 a month is reasonable then you need to be put down.

Its what is reasonable in the coursts eyes. You are trying to make a payment but your outgoings are to great to be able to pay anymore. Try doing some research before being a c**t next time

No what happens is the baliff comes to your house an takes £700 worth of your stuff.
Taking 58 years to pay a £700 loan isn't reasonable

Craig I never said they would break the door down I said send the bailiffs in and once they are involved you are in a vicious circle, your advice was poor advice just admit it and move on.

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

Bailiffs/Debt Collectors cannot force entry to your home and you can call the Police if they refuse to go however once they have gained entry this all changes so don't let them in from the start. Court appointed bailiffs eg. for Council Tax or whatever it's called now and unpaid fines can force entry. As for Pay Day loans they are a mugs game £1000 + apr in most cases. They make Provident look cheap. The best way to get a loan is through the Credit Union but it isn't instant and you will need to start saving with them too. As for Craig's £1 a month offer yes they will often accept it but usually only if you are on benefits and the admin fees are often more than the monthly payment. Creditors I think have to not have tried to contact you for 5 years to get the debt written off but there again this isn't set in stone. Whatever you choose to do good luck, hope this helps.

How is it a vicious circle. Baliffs knock, you dont answer, they go home.

the advice is sound, people just dont know their rights and scared by these parasitic loan companies

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

If a lender can't get their money back after going through their normal procedures, letters, phone calls etc., they will sell your debt on to a debt collection agency. A £700 debt would probably be sold for £300 to £350, so at least the lender gets something back. The debt collection agency will then chase you for the full amount, plus interest, plus any costs they incur. They have had plenty of practice, and know all the tricks of the trade when it comes to getting back money and making your life miserable at the same time. Best advice, don't borrow unless you can afford to pay it back.

So they politely knock once you don't answer the door and they just go away and never come back and the debt goes away
Right I'm off to get a payday loan :laughing6:

Not strictly true.

They can gain entry into a resdidential property if you leave a door or window open.

The only way the court will accept an offer of say £1 per month would be if the debt was safeguarded with a "Walking Possession" agreement. This means that they would attend your property and, with your consent would levy on goods but not remove them as long as you maintain reasonable payments in terms of a judicial order.

If the debt is of a decent level they can also remove your car to sell at auction.

If you are in employment they can also apply for an Attachment of Earnings order to have money deducted from you wages.

Any reasonable advisor would never advise you not to pay your debts, they have a habit of catching up with you eventually and the debt is "live" for at least 6 years.

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

Tue Mar 04, 2014 4:10 pm

An attachment to earnings only applies if you earn above protected earnings threshold. If your credit rating is so bad and your so skint you cant raise a few hundred quid then you will be below the threshold

Try ratesetter. Decent peer to peer lending / borrowing platform

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

I have a friend who has a bit of a problem with pay day loans, he is constantly having to take them out in order to keep his head above the water but lends more each time and doesn't know how to get it under control. I'd stay well away from any sort of pay day loan company!

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:31 pm

There is nothing wrong with these payday loan companies IF YOU PAY THEM BACK ON TIME. Go to any of the sites and do the slider thing they have, if you want to borrow £400 and then agree to pay them back by a week later then you only pay them £33 on top of what you owe.

It's when you take the piss do the massive interest rates kick in and it's where they make their money. Don't f**k them around and they won't f**k you around.

You will be hard pressed to get someone to loan you 700 though.

Re: Payday/personal loan -700

Pay day loans companies are vultures

In reality they are there to serve the drugs community most of the time. Poor people hooked on substances desperate to get cash anyway they can.

While I applaud any entrepreneur , the idea of a loan shark is as old as time, and doesn't deserve any credit.

I say f**k em, and f**k the people that work for them. Bunch of dirty cunts. Roast in Hell scum
