piss mistakes. I had one of those sadly, I won't bore you with the full story, but it involved around 12 pints & a cold night. You are correct it does stink the bedsheets out.

BobBankLoyalist wrote:Annis, thisis my two penneth & I will keep it on topic as best as possible!!

12 months ago I was of the opinion that the squad that was top of the Championship (or 21st in the Premiership!) could hold their own against the majority of the bottom half of the Prem. With a couple of experienced acquisitions that could beef up the squad I had no doubts that we would not only survive but compete too.

This season, as with many others I quickly started to believe that the way we set up was going to cause us problems. We were very defensive, and yes we weren't getting thumped but it was difficult to watch and relying on set pieces seemed to be the only way I ever thought we were going to score! However I will give Malky props that he could clearly see that we didn't have the strike force to trouble many defences so duly set us up to be difficult to break down and if we kept it tight you always had a chance at the other end.

Did I think he should've been sacked? From performances on the pitch, no. But there's always two sides to a story and I do wonder what went on behind closed doors that led to Tan wanting rid of him and the way he went about it. Would we have stayed up under Malky's guidance? Hypothetical and pointless now, but I do think we would have had a few more points than now BUT still very much in a relegation scrap.

So he goes and Ole comes in. The way he wants us to play football is admirable but fool hardy considering the squad we have, but you have to give him credit for switching to wing backs yesterday - Fabio actually looked comfortable as did John. The biggest problem is that you cannot play wingers with wing backs (obviously!) which means Zaha and especially Noone are not in the starting 11. I say especially Noone as he is the one person who I think has shown he can take on the best full backs in the prem and on occasions has looked top quality (although I still wish he was on the left but that's another story!)

Can we stay up if Ole sticks with this formation for the rest of the season? Possibly. I do like having five in midfield, we look far more comfortable. :ole:

Do I think we will stay up? At the moment no, but that's not because of tactics. I just can't see where another goal is coming from. You can be difficult to beat but if we can't score we are going down for sure. He could play 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 3-5-2 any formation you like but the answer is still the same, no goals in the team.

See, I can keep things on topic! Although it was very difficult not to stray on to other things I want to talk about with what's going on down there!!    :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion which is what hopefully will keep this board going! A bit of debate is what we want, although many people seem to think that using the most bad language is the way to get their point across! (Not you Annis!)

For what it's worth, I thought Malky had to go after the Southampton debacle. I'm not sure if Ole is the man to keep us up, but I do think he could be the man to return us to the Premier League if we go down. I hope he gets the chance to do that.

Would we be better off staying up, or going down to rebuild another team for the Premier League?

Ole may very well turn out to be a successful manager but to take a team that was playing a style of football and change it completely when we are in a relegation battle was a huge mistake by our club in trying to retain our Premier League status.

Like yourself I will support the team and the manager but I don't believe he is the right appointment for the job right now but I will support him because he is our manager.

At the end of the day Carl it dident matter who we brought in strikers are a rarity in the summer let alone January.
If it had been Malky pulis or ole we would be going down in my opinion because after the big spend in the summer we were still putting the majority of last years championship team out most matches.
We have struggled to score all season but concede virtually every game which means certain relegation.
I can't defend malkys transfer policy as the much vaunted dossier policy seems to have failed miserably. The only positive I can take from ole's signings is that he has the nucleus of a strong championship side for next season.
I'm surprised Mehmet has escaped any criticism because it seemed to me that he set his sights on ole and nobody else.
Once again it has shown that the defining factor of the club over the last season is that no one in the club from top to bottom had a planB

Steve, I firmly believe that Malky would have kept us up this season and I accept that we will probably have to agree to disagree.

I am not convinced that it was Mehmet Dalman's decision and only his to bring Ole in. I make that statement based on Tan's latest interview. The owner is very determined to tell us that he will personally be involved more so than ever before including being hands on with future transfers, also his comment regarding the appointment of Malky being that of TG and Gethin and how Malky was 'lucky' to get the job makes me believe that Tan would have very much been involved with the choice of manager this time around.

Carl I believe a lot of people have not taken into account that malkys sides seem to wane in the second half of the season which happened when he was at Watford.
We also won only three of our last thirteen championship games which again showed the team running out of steam.
To me because of the intensity of the premier league I believe that the trend was starting earlier hence being 3 nil down quite early in our last two games under Malky.
I dident see Malky doing any better in January than any other manager we would have brought in because quite frankly the squad has never been up to it.

Lets be honest, how can I praise Ole? what has he done so far for me to be positive ? West Ham defeat at home when they were at their lowest, Swansea our rivals, our worst defeat in living memory, a total embarrassment, Hull City a mediocre team at home, one of the worst home defeats in the last 12 years and he has only been here 2 months.

I want Ole to succeed and yes he has managed us for only 11 games and brought in 7 players, but please if I am so wrong, can the ones with different opinions, show me the positives so far ?

Re: It looks like honest opinions seem to upset a few on her

Truth Hurts.
Is that the morale of this story?

Then can the Malky apologist please explain why John Brayford was not named in the 25 man after being purchased for around £2m?
Why Don Cowie and Tommy Smith were retained in a Prem Squad when doubts were cast in the league below?
Why Kevin McNaughton was named in the 25 list then sent on loan whilst Brayford rotted away?

I don't think Malky would've kept us up,although I do think he should've been given the chance to finish what he started.

Re: It looks like honest opinions seem to upset a few on her

I didn't want malky sacked but at the same time I can't say I enjoyed his realm from a football point of view. He had a great rapport with the fans but caucescu would have after dave jones. It will always be known that he was the manager that took us up and none of his achievements will be taken away from him. The timing of his departure was wrong and the manner of it stunk and that's what leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. I don't think he would have got us many more points than ole if any and in the long term we'll have to see if it was a clever decision. Right now it doesn't seem to wise but anything that happens at our club at this time will be scrutinised more because of tans outbursts. It is what it is and we have to get behind ole and forget malky for now

I backed Dave Jones for his first 2 years, as the months passed after that I became totally against Jones, by the last 2 years, I could not stand him, but I still fully supported the team.

I backed Malky from day one and still back him today.

I backed Ole from day one and will still support him next season what ever happens this season, but I am entitled to my opinion and beliefs, I feel he is not experienced enough in management in English football and relegation battles. I still think he has a lot to learn and his inexperience is starting to show.

So because I have my own opinion and speaks how I honestly feel and don't praise Ole, I can see by the number of posts/topics that are being posted I am suddenly a hypocrite and there's suppose to be now double standards

That's a bit rich coming from you. In the past anything that went against your opinion the poster would be banned. You hated criticism of SH though you have distanced yourself a bit now. You and others loved being associated with him. Friends my arse....... he used you and others.

You are hoping that the club go down and Tan leaves so you can feel important again. You want to be that big fish in a small bowl.

I despise some fans more than Tan.....you are in it for some sort of self importance.

As for OGS I'll support him more than some idiotic fans who change with the wind. Ive always said it......I wouldn't have any of you anywhere near the club (in a supporter role) The only reason you wouldn't touch the Trust was because no one would vote for you.

Rant over and Im done with this mb too........its just a money making racket for you and a couple of others.

The only posters that are ever banned from this forum are snipers/ name callers etc, were u one of them? What was yr previous name ? It's funny if u look on the form everyone is having a good debate and not agreeing with me, but u have a little snipe, not a debate

Sorry butty you threw your toys out and banned me and didn't even have the courtesy to say why.The all opinions welcome motto should be changed to "all opinions welcome as long as you don't disagree with me.Still,if I get banned again I can always do a Roathy.

Anyone who doesnt share your opinion on Malky and gives it to you straight with facts you get all mardy and upset.

It was only yesterday you had a pop at Bowman because he felt Malky was to blame in the poll and you called him a red Tan lover

To be fair i have never been banned from this forum and my opinions are rarely the same as Annis's or Carls. I often bring up hammam in arguments which probably annoys him and i try to wind him and Carl up now and again but like i say i have never been banned for having a difference of opinion .

Spot on Jinks, u even asked to be banned and I refused

90% of our posts are of different opinions and u have always posted against Sam, but all in a proper debate
