Actually, the "boy" took himself out of Cardiff and did us NO favours at the time...

Doing the Ayatollah to wind up the (now) insignificant 'Jacks' doesn't exonerate him in my eyes

To further his career, surely you can't begrudge anyone to do that?

Yep. Sorry, fella. I feel strongly about the whole Ledley situation (including the club's part, to be fair) :(

It's understandable. I just feel the club gambled with promotion & when we lost the playoff final, Joe went to further his career and has since beaten Barca at the Nou camp in the Champions League. I don't hold anything bad feeling to him at all, he's as much a fan as the rest of us, growing up on the bob!

You can't call moving to the SPL furthering his career surely?

Mid table championship side or title winning SPL side regularly in the Champions League in front of 50,000 people?

He's played against Barca a couple of times hasn't he? Thats pretty special and something there isn't many Cardiff players will ever be able to say looking back over their careers.

If I had faith in my ability to become a Prem player eventually then I would make the move every time.

Absolutely you can!

He's played in the champions league, won a few league titles and cups, got to the CL knockout stages, beat Barca at the Nou camp...

How on earth is that not furthering your career?!

Easy SPL winners medals and Champions League qualification in a league well below Championship level with one or two glamour games thrown in is not furthering your career in my opinion.

Playing in the champions league and getting to the knockout stages isn't furthering his career then?! :laughing5:

Tell me how he would have done that had he stayed at Cardiff then?

He would probably be a much better player than he is now if he stayed at Cardiff because he would have consistantly been playing at a much higher level. The fact he struggles to get into the Wales team now shows he's declined as a footballer.

All ifs and maybes. Facts are simple. He moved to further his career & has done so. Anyone who suggests otherwise, is talking daft.

He has done things for Celtic that he would never have done had he stayed at Cardiff & therefore has furthered his career.

I don't think even the Cardiff fans understand what it means. I can remember Bothroyd having an absolute mare for QPR against us a few seasons and all he could do was stand there and slap his head! Made him look a bigger tosser than if he'd sloped off in the way his performance merited. You're right, though. Why should I be offended or wound up by it?

your correct..the ayahtollah is a Cardiff thing,, its never been to wind anyone up...........the players mentioned that have done it to the jacks are not the sharpest tools in the box tbh............sort of like taking a user name like premierjacks to go on a rivals forum........cringe

having played in a certain competition doesnt further your career.. where is the evidence? he is less likely to be picked for his country, and has ended up at Palace who are one of the prems lowest payers.
and stop assuming people are daft because they dont agree with your extremely narrow mind

i liked Jay, but what you say is spot on..........its also true for hundreds of non league players who compete in the FA cup each year.......and our last euro adventure, how many of our players had a career boost from playing liege?
likewise the jacks this year { not a dig }...is leon britton worth one penny more now than if he hadnt played in those games?
but im daft for thinking this.........in fact your daft to think full stop.......dont think ask the oracle/chuckles
