The true fans renew whether we go down or not. I will laugh my head off if we stay up and the people who did not renew have lost their seat

At the end of the day a ST is still cheaper than paying game by game in the championship anyway.
I'm not true fan because I didn't renew? I'll just do as I did last season when I made it for 16 home games. I'll just try to make 10 home games and a few aways, that way I don't have to shell out on £300 in one go and I don't have to miss games that I've paid for if I get a part time job. Not worth the money anyway

That's a drop of about 30% and if it's anywhere near right it will be interesting to see what they do. They would surely have to consider a price reduction to try and fill the extra 5,500 seats they are building.
They can't drop them too much, or it will be cheaper to buy individual tickets, rather than a ST!
With such a big hike, it's not surprising that tickets are struggling. How many were on the original price freeze? I've got 10k in my mind for some reason?
I've worked it out and my season ticket comes out at £35 per game next year. It makes me think, wtf are individual ticket prices going to be if its 35 quid a game on a season ticket?!?!.
I was thinking they would have to drop the price of season tickets rather than match day prices although they will have to look at them also. I think it's £40 for a individual match ticket this season so if the season ticket price increase goes onto match day prices £46 will be the basic price for a match ticket next season.

I'm not renewing, I can't afford to pay all that money in one go, and won't be able to buy one on the credit deal. I don't make many night games, and if we're in the Championship which looks likely, there'll be at least half a dozen of those. Also, usually miss 3 or 4 Saturday matches, so I'll just pick and chose what games I go to, there'll be plenty of room in a 33,000 stadium, so can't see me having any problems getting a ticket .

I think a lot of people will feel the same. It is interesting to look at how demand and supply interact with regards to the sales and prices. Last year demand was at an all time high because of premiership football and the fact that the best way to guarantee a seat was to get a season ticket. Demand will obviously drop if people think we are going to get relegated but because of the increased seats next year there is also less requirement to reserve your seat knowing there will be plenty available no matter what division we are in.
I'm not renewing, definitely can't afford it but the same was true last year. More to do with the fact that I haven't managed to get to 6 of the 14 games so far. This season I got a season ticket to make sure I could get in when I could make it, don't feel the need to do the same for next year.

I renewed mine and my daughters last Monday, but if Tan dare change our name, then I will demand a full refund.
Sales are well down and many fans can't afford the price increase. Those like myself on the price Freeze are very lucky.
Many City fans know that next season with sales down and the extra 5,000 seats, no matter what division, it will be easy to buy tickets. Many City fans will pick and chose their games next season. Club only has itself to blame.

Totally agree if we stay up at least people who can't afford season could get walk up tickets unlike this season

Well that is bollocks it is nowhere near a record low We had less than 1,000 season ticket holders in some years in the 80's
Some people on here are proper numpties....................

that must be record low for the new stadium.......which i think could still mean 16000.......how many do Swansealona have?
Numpty number 2.............take a bow, sir!

Renewed today and there were about a dozen people in the queue. To be honest I think the queue was only there because people were having to fill in finance forms at the counter!
Thu Feb 27, 2014 9:15 pm
Totally agree that fans can pick and choose their games next season due to capacity increase.
I will miss 4 or 5 home games this year due to work commitments. My ticket in grandstand averages out at 35 quid odd a game if you make every one and with the season ticket going up by 89£ for my seat then per match it's closer to 40 a game.
I know I will miss a few again next year so it just isn't worth renewing particularly as I can't see them being able to charge £40 a ticket when the stadium will have 10K spare seats to fill when we get relegated... Therefore it doesn't actually make sense to renew at these prices...

Still not renewed. Had my season ticket for over 20 years. I'm just not enjoying Tans CCFC at all.
Its not the lack of success as I'm used to that. I'm torn.........probably wont renew.

Up to you, it's all I've ever known so will be renewing. It's a big void to fill. Let's hope tan sods off ey.

I honestly believe there are more than a few people on this forum who are armchair supporters but would never admit to it!!

Yeah been going for 40 years in total. This is the first time I've not been worried about renewing. Its definitely down to Tan. We have never been so divided as a fanbase and its horrible. The Championship is still a great league if we get relegated, but its not about that. This bloke has ripped the heart and soul and the togetherness out of our club. For decades we have stuck together in all circumstances, but these days what are we fighting for?? Its a sham. The badge, the red kits.....its devastating.
The irony is that after decades of wishing our side was in the top flight, when it happened, it was like supporting someone else.
Its gone I'm afraid....and one man is responsible. I think its the odd away game for me for the near future.

I dont want to renew, I will prob end up doing it tomorrow because people keep moaning to me about renewing etc. Not enjoying it anymore and thats now even down to Tan or the rebrand even tho I hate the rebrand. Its our fans now, sad to say I just dont want to be associated with a lot of them.

What just For not renewing? If you know you can't make a few games next season it makes sense not to renew because tickets will be so easy to get hold of. £50 for a good membership which lets you get tickets as soon as they go on sale and you wallet would thank you for it. I don't know how anyone can justify the price hike when you look at what you're paying for

Yes I totally agree with that, it hasn't felt like my team since we've gone up, the soul isn't there anymore in my opinion. Yes in happy when we win, it's just the whole day out. I know a lot of boys by me who won't go anymore since the initial rebrand and I didn't want to go neither initially, but I'm stubborn and won't let one man stop me going down. I was here before him and I will be afterwards. It's in my blood.

The league we are in doesn't bother me. Championship might be more beneficial to us in the long term. The off field embarassments are wearing thin on me.

Who said it was for not renewing?

This is a copy of my email sent to the club.
As expected no answer.
Could not run a piss up in a brewery.
I have just received your invitation to a diamond member meeting for Monday the 3rd March.
Unfortunately I will be unable to attend as I will be away on a business trip.
I have included a copy of an email that I sent to Julian Jenkins and Damon Searle on the 18th February.
I have not received any reply.
Over the period of our membership Cardiff City have received from us just about £18,000.00. Whilst I do enjoy match day I do not think that I have had that good value for money.
I think of us as fans, and when we signed up it was not just for the benefit of a free cup of coffee or a free program it was our way of also giving something back to our club, Cardiff City FC.
The club had little money and was always under pressure to pay running costs and HMRC, but it was our club.
Now I hardly recognise it.
Off thepitch the heart and soul has been ripped out of the club.
Promisses broken. Blue Fans verses Red Fans. Etc. etc.
If you go and take a look at the Ricoh suite there is absolutely nothing to even indicate that Cardiff City play there. No pictures, no shirts, no nothing. Its sterile. We were told that this would change when the rugby left the stadium. It has not. At the beginning of our membership people would get to games early to have a beer or two and meet up with other members before the game. Our “hosts” on match day used to talk to the members. You have been so focused on the few that eat that you forgot the normal diamond member.
Can you please send me any minutes or conclusions from the meeting so that I can make a final decission regarding my season tickets.
Many thanks
Mike

I'll be renewing regardless of what division we're in, but I am very wary of what he's got up his sleeve next.
Fri Feb 28, 2014 1:19 am
All the indications are that many thousands of will not be renewing, certainly not before the 5pm deadline (seat reservation) today,,,,& who could honestly blame them?
I hope that things regarding our club become a lot clearer after Vincent Tans interview tomorrow. A clear statement of intent is required.
Bring back the Blue, peg back prices, Unite all our fans with open & clear dialogue. Get back to the basics & lets become a proper football club again.
I hope.
