Carlos i love the optimism but unfortunately the harsh reality is wer asking a team to win 5 games in a very small end to the season and weve only won 5 in 26 games mate and we had a full team out against wigan the only change for hull will be at wingback and cm with theo and eikrem replaced imo we couldnt beat wigan athletic ffs no passion no pace no direction to a certain extent we didnt even threaten their goal in the second half when we shoulda been camped in their half im afraid wer doomed pal

Having watched Sunderland lately I think they will pull through, have improved under Gus.

After the puzzling management change at a crucial point, things seemed very bleak. At that point the team had been playing in a realistic if slightly uninspiring way with a focus on survival and establishing the club in the top league gradually. It's a lot faster and competitive and no one can make the jump from the Championship to whacking in goals left right and centre against Arsenal and Chelsea in one go.
Well, what happened happened, and the one chance we had was that the new manager's more aggressive tactics would succeed with the likes of Zaha and Fabio on board. It seemed possible that the new players and culture would gel quickly and start winning a lot of games - unlikely to be honest, but stranger things have happened. What had changed by the end of the transfer window was that they now needed to win a lot - no longer was a point a game average enough because they'd fallen behind a lot in the change over.
Sadly, I've got to reluctantly accept that this isn't going to happen. If they can't beat Wigan convincingly , then I'm afraid it's very unlikely indeed that they can pull off the the goal scoring festival which is now needed to save them.
I do think that they've got the players and manager to rebuild over maybe 2 seasons and be back in the Premiership on a more permanent basis, but that would rely upon the club sticking with the new manager for that long and keeping all the players if and when they face the increasingly likely drop.
Who knows, they might get away with it if other clubs play badly enough, but at least after about 40 years of "we nearly got there", at least we've progressed to "we nearly stayed there."
The next step would be to get there and maintain the required standard but let's hope that's not going to take another 40 years

If we beat Hull by more than one goal I will feel confident.

Just one win more than those three achieve, that's all it takes.

When you say it like that it doesn't sound too bad.

That is how close it is.

I don't know the reason why but at times this season our support has been phenomenal, at home and away. There have been times of celebration that I have not witnessed before, the Man City win at home was something I am not sure if there has ever been a better atmosphere at home, the moment Mutch scored a last minute screamer at Craven Cottage will live long in the memory too.

We need our supporters to believe, we need to show the players that we have belief. The squad we got today is the squad we have for 1,080 minutes of Premier League football. Whatever you think they are capable of, whatever you think they should be doing, for every mistimed pass, for every goal we concede, for every tackle they make, they are our players, they are representing Cardiff City FC.

These players should have our unequivocal support and backing for every minute of the 12 games.

There needs to be a concerted effort by everyone for the sake of our Premier League status to get behind the boys and give it everything you got to support them, all is not lost but there is everything to play for.

We can pull off a great escape, no need to give up now, now is the time to be strong, now is the time our support is needed.

Just one more win than Fulham, West Brom and Sunderland.

Believe :ayatollah:

That's the spirit Carl, of course we can do it :ole: :ayatollah:

Yeah, let's hope so. I'll be happy if they beat them at all. They need to but I don't know if they can at this point.
If they did then it could conceivably boost their confidence which I imagine must be a bit ropey right now.
In fact the position is that they need to beat Hull and for other results to go the right way to even stay in the race. If all that happened exactly to a precise wish list they could be out of the bottom 3 by Saturday evening, and that would be the best possible chance of convincing the players that they're on the way to getting somewhere.
They need to prevail at one end of the field or the other and I regret to say that I can't see much sign of goal scoring abilities at this level so they really do need to tighten up their defence before they start trying to be too flash at the other end.
I can't help wondering whether Mr Solshar ( I'm sure that's not how you spell it) is trying to introduce Manchester United tactics without Manchester United multi million pound mercenary talent.
I think their best plan is to close up tightly at the back and try to hit on the counter attack for the rest of the season. No, I don't like that brand of football either but it's the best chance they've got. But, hey, what do I know ?

You can't paint a picture of our goal scoring & leave out certain games we've scored several goals in.
