I'm always upbeat. Even if the worst happens and we get relegated, I think we have the basis of another Championship winning squad.
I was quite impressed with Cala. His footballing skills are superior to Turner, and he seems quicker on the turn. I think I'd start him next week, and with Medel and Mutch out we may need to start Eikrem again and play a 442

I'm happier going down to see us under Ole but think we are dead certs for the drop, we look naff in the center of the pitch if we only had a olifingana and mcphail today I think it would have been a different story.
Hull will run the show in midfield, can't see us making 30pts which will be no surprise to me as I thought we would struggle.

CraigCCFC wrote:Can someone please explain this "we were hard to beat" under malky? Genuine question as we werent and we had the 2nd worst defensive record and goals scored. This isnt excusing Ole or today just feel this line thats pushed is utter garbage.
As I said the utter garbage Craig I will try and explain what I mean. Earlier in the season, and by that, I mean up untill Tan decided to press the self destruct button and sack Moody we had won 8 points from 7 games, scoring 7 and conceding 10. Since that time we have taken 14 points from 57 available and as the circus surrounding MM and the will he won't he resign or be sacked took a grip we have been in freefall.
OGS took over 6 games ago and we have taken 4 out of 18 points failing to score in 4 of those games with just a single clean sheet, scoring 4 and conceding 12.
OGS is not having to deal with the nonsense MM was dealing with but the bare stats clearly, in my opinion, show we are easier to beat now than we were when MM didn't have the off field nonsense to deal with.
I'm no MM apologist and thought that his negative mindset would have seen us relegated but something tells me it would have taken longer to confirm, maybe late April against what I now believe will be late March or early April.

I'm disheartened. Day out cost me over hundred quid. We were poor in final third. Ref was shit. Never a fk for Wigan 2nd goal. However you have to defend these properly when given.

What positives are there after today's performance and was there anyone that gave you hope with their display this afternoon ?
Cala, Berget and Daelhi all started, would any of these three deserve a place in the starting line up against Hull ?
carl, watched berget in developement gamme, and sadly he looks lost,my only positive is daelhi looks good....but as a team i dont think we have enough to stay in this league......sorry..

Upbeat - we are ONE win from safety.
Today positives Cala & Daehli - & game time for the others. Also 17K crowd - higher than expected.
I BELIEVE we can do it

Cala & Daehli were the 2 players who stood out for me. My 1 worry is Ole still doesn't know what his best team is !

I still can't work out our best 11. Nothing there convinces me that we are going to stay still waiting For the spark of OGS in charge to happen. Clueless in possesion and the players he signed are not going to keep us up unfortunately.

" My 1 worry is Ole still doesn't know what his best team is"
I take your point and probably agree with it - in fact I can see Ole changing the side often now till the end of the season in order to gain an advantage.
Having said that the key for survival is not how well we play or the deficiencies of the team, lack of goals or inexperience of the manager etc etc BUT are there three worse teams than us - in my opinion there are three teams that are "as good" or "as bad" as us - Fulham, Norwich and Sunderland. As we are not significantly adrift we only need to slightly have better results than these to stay up.

Disheartened, to be honest. Have known many relegation seasons, and this feels like one too. We're not down yet, but we really need to get a couple of wins.
Sat Feb 15, 2014 9:32 pm
After the past 3 games, I am convinced we are going down and 1) do not have a squad of players to play the style of football that Ole is trying to instigate and 2) don't have the fight for a scrap in any case.
Our players and most of our fans have resigned ourselves to the drop and the only good thing that may come of this is we see the end of Tan (who will take the parachute money and run) and maybe get our identity and pride back.
Upbeat I certainly AM NOT!

So you are saying that even though we had gained 17 points from 17 games , were not in the relegation zone and had arguably an easier second half to the season, they held discussions about us going down, very positive outlook .
So are you saying that Tan & co knew that OGS was probably out of his depth and appointing him would probably result in us being relegated.
I'm sorry but I would prefer to see them appoint someone with experience at this level and give us a sporting chance of staying up.
With all due respect , if OGS needs to cut his teeth then let him do it at a lower level with someone else !
We were going only one way under Malky, thats not a dig but reality. I know for a fact he had lost parts of the dressing room (others on here know this to but will not say so) a change was needed, whether Ole is right remains to be seen but he deserves time. Malky asked for 3 transfer windows and Im prepared to give Ole the same.
Unfortunately Craig, time is not a luxury have on our side now or when Ole was appointed!

I knew after I first saw Cornelius play that we would be lucky to survive with no natural goalscorers in the squad. You can't stay in this league playing defensive football without carrying a threat up front. Ole has tried to change things but you it's just impossible to get clubs to part with quality strikers in January.
Hopefully when Ole does get the chance to bring in players in the summer he will be looking for players for the Premiership rather than the Championship but I have my doubts

Upbeat as always

Cala and Daelhi look good signings and future starters, which have easier fixtures than all the teams around us, but we do have some moaning bottling fans, and I'm not confident they are all ready for a relegation fight, fingers crossed the majority still are, we need them

Very Upbeat!
Ole's had 6 league games, 3 of which away from home where a point would've been a good return....
A poor result against West Ham aside, there's so much to actually be positive about:
More shots on goal under Ole
Less shots against under Ole
More possession under Ole
And, players like Noone & John getting their chance under Ole
A massive ruin Saturday can set our season right up!!!
