Nah, with the prize freeze there will still be plenty of takers, but I think there will be a huge drop for the 2015/16 season.

Lets face facts, sales will be heavily influenced on what division we play in.

Another factor to consider is; what if we make an FA cup appearance in the FA cup this season? Thats something that Peter Ridsdale took full advantage of a few years ago, remember?? Buy a season ticket & guarantee an FA cup final ticket.

Not for me it wont be. Dont care what division we are in I aint renewing. I hear what you are saying though.

Not sure on that one Rick.

Ridsdale took full advantage of that opportunity and who can blame him but we didnt even have 10,000 season ticket holders at that time, City had never been to Wembley in our lifetime, and a season ticket the following season was available for £199 in the lower bob bank. A small price to pay to guarantee what we thought at that stage was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This time we already have over 20,000 ST holders who will be entitled to tickets, weve been to Wembley for 2 major cup finals, a major cup semi final, and a play off final and a Ninian Stand ticket is £529. For someone who isnt already a ST holder I dont think the carrot is as appealing as it was 6 years ago.

Done. Next year though it's going to be almost £1000 for me and my son, So I'm going to have a real think if I can afford it.

Believe me, PR did say this, & promoted it when we got to the FA cup final in 2008; buy a season ticket for the 08/09 season, & guarantee a ticket for the cup final,,,,just like he said before our game v Hull City,,,turn up for this game & have first dibs on a semi final ticket, remember? It paid off to.

The five year price freeze was another one of PR's money raising schemes, so was the Ray Ranson deal, so was Compass catering.

I know mate, I took advantage myself as I hadnt had a season ticket for a couple of years, was just going regular but not every game and then when he dangled that carrot I took it. Great piece of business by the Riddler.

What i was saying I was unsure about is wether it will be so appealing this time around for the factors I mentioned.

Our fanbase will moan whatever. The "new" fans and the rebrand get blamed for everything but our fanbase has had a downer on the owner / manager / players for as long as Ive been a fan (22 years).

Ricky Wright got turned on
Eddie May got turned on
Nathan Blake got turned on
The Kumars were hated from day 1
So was Bobby Gould
Sam Hamman went from hero to zero
Lennie Lawrence turned on
The Riddler done many good things as mentioned above yet marched against. How many of those who marched are now still enjoying the prize freeze and will be complaining about how much they have to pay next year when it ends. :laughing6:
Dave Jones got turned on. Got a championship club to a Cup Final then some fans wanted him sacked for not winning it FFS.
Bothroyd got turned on despite being arguably our best player
Chopra got turned on despite being one of our better players
The 2010/11 team got turned on instead of backed when we were going for promotion. Norwich backed their team and they pipped us.
Malky got turned on. I am guilty of this one but then I never liked him so i didnt change my stance.
Now Whitts is being turned on and hes made nearly 300 appearences for the club.

and thats just off the top of my head and in my time supporting the club

Deluded fan base. Always have been.

Sorry CP76, i forgot to mention, but i understand where your coming from, & lets not forget that during PR's tenure, he was a big part of our club moving from Ninian Park to a new CCS. Money was tight, & he wheeled & dealt in anything that would raise the cash to do so, while keeping the playing side going. An FA cup semi/final was a golden opportunity,,as was a play off final v Blackpool a few years later. His word at the time were that victory & promotion to the Premiership was "pivotal" to our finances at that time.

I wonder if that was a conversation with Vincent Tan at that final game?

No longer enjoying it and at £550 next year that will put a nice little deposit down on my 2015 Holiday (2014 holiday already paid for), something I will enjoy far more than sharing a stadium with some of the most toxic, deluded fans in the country.

My passion for Cardiff City is slowly diminishing and although the rebrand hasnt helped, going to the football had started to become a chore rather than an enjoyment long before Tan started to f**k about with the club.

You are not meant to enjoy it mate. That's what being a City fan is all about. :ayatollah:

Threw mine in for this season in protest at the rebrand but will be renewing next season, I've done my bit. Have not missed a game yet for those who will say sellout, but glad in my own mind that I did it. Always be blue :ayatollah:

Very similar story.

I will always renew but thought I would give my daughter the option. She moves from child prices into the 16-21 bracket next year so asked her if she wanted the money instead of going to the footy with me.

She said that relegation means that we get the joy of going back up and she ain't no fair weather. Obviously heard me say it so many times. :ayatollah:
