Get back to basics ffs and play people who at least try, Gunnarsson will give 110%.
We need to keep possesion of the ball in this games, something that Gunnarsson seems to have a hard time doing; he's a very clumbsy player

Paul Lambert's men were beaten on home turf at the weekend but our tipster is backing the Villans to net at least twice when they travel to Wales
Cardiff City suffered derby-day disappointment as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Swansea City on Saturday evening, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be aiming to bounce back when they play host to Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

From an outsider's perspective: I've watched almost every Cardiff match this season (nothing from Championship last year), and to be honest, these are my five cents on some of the players who have been here for a while.
Mutch: These boards seem to love him, I've watched him almost every minute he has played this season, what did he do in Championship to earn this recognition? This season he has been, at best, average. I'm not sure if he has just not shown his potential this season or whatever it is, but as of now he doesn't really cut it for me.
Medel: Strong player, I like him. I do feel that he sometimes make a little bit too many Mikel passes (to the CBs) where he shouldn't, but I think he is fine. Should start every game.
Noone: What an on and off player. Can go from brilliant to "disaster" in one game to another. Definitely start him up and see what kind of day he is having.
John: I like him. Quick, good defensively, has a lot to work on offensively but that will improve. Should be a regular.
Fabio: Is a little hot-headed. Is VERY offensively minded, his pace is a real asset in the defensive part of the game - his positioning is also decent. Can grow into a good right-back (where he should play, as a right-footed player).
Caulker: Very good CB. Tall, fast, strong 1on1 - definitely one of the best CBs in the Premiership. Keep this lad as long as you possibly can, will be a regular for the national team soon.
Hudson/Turner: Wow, these two are shockingly bad. Hardly Championship material. Slow, uncomfortable with the ball, out-positioned every game.
Cala: Know him a little bit from his time at Sevilla. I like him a lot, he is VERY good in the air, his pace is actually pretty decent and he is a real talkative center-back. A future captain type (given he would learn the language etc). Is considered a big CB talent (if you can still be a talent at 25) for Spain.
Kim: I'm not really sure about this lad, he is supposed to be some sort of an Asian Mata, but he is just not clever enough. He has great ball control, his passing is alright, but his vision is far off from dominating the number 10 role.
Eikrem: We all saw his first half vs. Bolton. I wasn't impressed. However, he did have some pretty interesting cameo appearences earlier AND when in form he is a really, really good player. Would have him in the role next to Medel. Creative, hard working, decent shot - he can be a real asset if given his chances.
Daehli: This is your man. If you play him wide he will still come in the middle (he is all over the place in the attacking roles), but this guy is a genius in the making. Give him the ball and he will either feed the striker(s) or take them all on his own. Best 18 year old I've ever seen who can play all three offensive positions (in a 4-2-3-1). Should start every week, he is a magician.
Jones: Not sure if this guy is the right lad for CFC. He is strong, yes, but his finishing is average at best. Versus quick defenders; choose this guy, versus slow defenders; choose Campbell.
Campbell: Quick, decent finishing, decent ball control. Is too weak in order to be a target man on top. Might be better coming off the bench to use his pace vs. tired defenders.
Berget: You haven't seen this guy yet, but for those of us who do; he is a really fun player to watch. Has some pretty crazy first touches and ideas I never thought about, he might be a joker. He can play in all four attacking roles (striker, right mid, number 10 and left mid), but he is definitely best as a right mid with permission to help the number 10. I read somewhere that some people were not impressed by his stats when playing for Molde. He has played nothing but right mid or number 10 for Molde and he has a ratio of 0.25 - I'd say that's pretty OK (and if you added all his assists and third-assists the number would be somewhere around 0.7-0.8 a match). He can be a joker this season.
Bellamy: Bellamy is Bellamy. He can go from being MoM to being one of the worst on the pitch. Is a real hard worker, though, I'd put him in the eleven when playing difficult away games. He is a little bit selfish for my own personal taste, though.
Marshall: Brilliant. Top 5 keepers in the Premiership.
A short wrap-up: The striker position is not fully settled (in my opinion), give Daehli more time and maybe Mutch shouldn't start as much as he does. The team needs something different, something fresh, something that can change things up instead of playing the same eleven the whole season that doesn't work. Imo.

Diolch / thanks for your views on the players O - key - I assume you are a Norwegian colleague.
I agree with many of the comments. I note that you left out Whittingham but that is probably a good thing based on his recent form and lack of effort.
As for Daehli he has looked great in the limited time hes had on the pitch - I hope he starts the next few games.
For tonight I d go with
Marshall
Fabio
caulker
calca
John
Medal.
Ekram
Noone. Zaha
Daehli
Jones or maybe Canpbell (whoever OGS thinks will be most effective against Villa ) i am not convinced that Jones will put in a shift but its too early to judge.
Fingers crossed - cos Villa are not a bad side by any means.

Best case scenario we win and WBA lose making us 18th in the table
Worst case scenario we lose and WBA get some sort of result against Chelsea
If the latter happens I think we will have to say bye bye to the premier league season 2014/15
This is a MUST win game - no excuses for a half arsed performance by the players or the fans

I would play Marshall McNaughton Caulker Cala John Medel Mutch/Cowie Noone(if fit) Daehli Zaha Campbell
Mutch will have to watch the quick counter attacks of Villa which is why Cowie may be a better option and move Mutch instead of Daehli in attacking mid. Mutch often doesn't last the 90 minutes so Daehli could replace him around the 60 minute mark. I predict Ole's first draw 2-2
Tue Feb 11, 2014 7:42 pm
Cardiff: Marshall - Theophile-Catherine, Caulker, Turner, John - Zaha, Mutch, Medel, Noone - Campbell, Jones.
Bench: Lewis, Wollf Eikrem, Cowie, Cala, Daehli, Berget, Fabio.
Looking good, 3-1 I predict
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:17 pm
Cardiff have been stellar in the first half, Noone, Zaha, Campbell, Jones really threatening Villa so far!
Bad news: Mutch clutching his hamstring, Eikrem coming in.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:24 pm
Sounds like were getting alot of possesion.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:24 pm
He picked the right team this time for sure..Villa only dangerous on long passes to Benteke.
2 shots at the post, 1 disallowed goal. If we loose this one we cant blame OGS.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:25 pm
Looking very positive at the moment
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:26 pm

Agreed, since Wolff came on he has made 2 interceptions, won 2 free kicks in midfield and made 3 really good attacking passes, he looks like he wants it!

Im not being negative but until that is converted into a couple if goals I cant relax! Get caught once and we could crumple.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:37 pm
KTC looking good. Even Turner playing better than resent. Maybe Calas entrance made him step up the game.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:43 pm
Have to agree,we have to score or it could be one of them nights!! Then again we are not alone tonight, all the other games are scoreless! C'mon city!!
Tue Feb 11, 2014 8:45 pm
I hope Daehli gets a run out. Bring him on when we're 3 up!
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:01 pm
cmon daehli!
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:01 pm
Dæhlie is coming on!
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:12 pm
we've gone flat.
and we are pushing too many men forward and villa are countering.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:15 pm
Have to say turner having his best game for a while, villa pressing us more this half.we need to keep possesion better.too many passes before it gets to noone.
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:20 pm
Villa growing in confidence and there seems no urgency from us
Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:21 pm
The team currently on field is a championship team.
