Craig, remember this is a Cardiff City Forum. Do you honestly expect some on here to grasp the concepts of basic economics and business? There's not a chance in hell that they understand the concepts of capitalism, inflation and supply and demand. You're wasting your time mate.

Basic economics you say. No company in the world charges more money for a product that is worse than it's current product and it is impossible to justify. If we stay up a £70 increase can be justified. Not if we go down. There should be some sort of clause that if we get relegated the cost of the season ticket goes down.

Supply and demand you say, they will be plenty of supply but not much demand if we go down.

And Craig, me a glory fan? Don't make me laugh. I have been going longer than the majority of people on this site and I am only 23. I have been going for 17 years (since I was 6) and have had a season ticket for the past 10 (apart from the season we lost to west ham in the play offs).

Inflation went down in 2013 by 0.1% (November 2013) unless Cardiff were beasted by the IR there are no excuses

Also, you can't rule out fans on the door in the championship paying less than STH. I agree with the posts above its unlikely due to the uproar but i wonder if he is at liberty to do that if he so wished. Is there a guarantee when you buy an ST that you will pay less overall than a regular fan?

This is a genuine question as I don't know. Thanks

So because we are cardiff fans, we should pay for a ST that's over the odds for championship footy, when we can just turn up and pay £15 on the gate, yes that makes sense :?

Petrol prices go up but people still drive
Beer prices go up but people still drink
Tobacco prices go up but people still smoke
Basic food prices go up but people still eat

It's the reality - prices don't stay the same and as a general rule they usually increase

So yes.. It make perfect sense - no one likes price increases but most accept it.

huh?

Petrol VAT
Beer VAT
Tobacco VAT
Basic food VAT

Admission to football..?? I suppose football clubs may be taxed more every year, but im not bothered to find out.

EPL makes the most income of any league generated....no need for the price hikes but I guess you're happy to pay extra without a fuss

Sadly it's nothing to do with tax and inflation - profit margins are the biggest reason behind increasing prices - with any company

And there's no point in making a fuss - price is a reality and there's no winning by making a fuss

The rebrand and the runnings on at our club however..

I agree, its very sad though that clubs don't want to live within those profit margins :ayatollah:

In an ideal world clubs would subsidise supporters costs - similar to the model of some clubs in Germany

Unfortunately given the nature of modern football I can't see this happening any time soon in the prem
