I totally 100% agree with you, particularly about your Malky comments. I am disgusted and saddened by some of our fans. The majority of this forum wanted Malky out for more exciting football and now we are getting it. So they can't be hypocritical and complain that we are shipping goals and getting humiliated. I was happy with Malky and believe he would have kept us up as like you say, he made us hard to beat and I think Malky would have got us enough points from our remaining home games to keep us up. But our deluded fans got greedy and wanted us to beat teams in style, which was simply never going to happen in our first season in the Premiership. I think at the start of the season we should have bought players who may have helped us avoid relegation in our first premiership campaign, rather than spending £8 million on a gamble for the future. That money could have got us two or three experienced players who may have made a difference. One thing is certain, Cornelius was never (and probably never will be) ready for premier football, and would have struggled to make the Airbus team.

Makes no difference in long term. It's getting there and staying up that counts. Going up via play offs is great for fans but bad for the club as they lose a months preparation/signing time. We have royally screwed up. Poor signings, poor tactics and an owner that has no respect for the heartbeat of the club.

You lot were expecting too much at the start of the season. Top 6, Europa win were being suggested. In the run up to the first derby you were going to stuff us. As for our support at the liberty, I weren't there but city fans have at admitted it was poor, just like you gypos at our place last November. Apologies for this long stream of thought, it was only meant as a couple of lines response, but I got carried away, just typing some thoughts! some may enjoy reading and agree/ disagree others won't be bothered as it's too long!

For the majority of Cardiff supporters, we could see that the unhealthy relationship between Tan & Malky could not be allowed to carry on, thats why the majority wanted a change in manager. I, like many others were bored with the football under Malky and I really did think that given money to spend he would have added more of an attacking type of player to the squad for the upcoming Premiership.

Agreed that you have to defend your hearts out against the Man City's etc of this world, but all the bottom half teams are not much better than the top of the championship, so they would be there for the taking, under Malky that wasn't happening, we were totally defensive even against those teams. I have no doubt that we would have been relegated under Malky, all but showing fight, but still relegated. It is of course easy to blame Tan for interfering, but in all honesty, in the Championship last year when things were apparently good between the two, then many still had doubts, as we struggled to draw let alone beat mediocre teams, so Tans interference should not have been a factor. How we actually won that league by so many points, I and supporters of most other clubs we played will never know

What results like yesterday's do is highlight the dis- enchantment that many supporters have with what's gone on with our club, namely the pathetic and needless re-brand, which has driven a wedge between the club and it's fans and even fans against fans. The passion has been sucked out of the support, it has been drained since Sam Hammam left in all fairness and has got progressively worse, culminating with the re- brand. If you speak to most City supporters now, especially those that started following City in the 80's, they are mostly confused, in what and why they are actually supporting these days they have no identification with the teams colour and badge, the football product is a vastly overpriced past time, which I suspect they get very little enjoyment from on its own, without that feeling that we all once had, that what ever happens we are all part if the same tribe, supporting everything that that tribe stands for, that has all been lost with the re-brand.

I also think it's part of a wider and more general dis-enchantment with football as a whole. Vastly over paid players and now even managers, foreign owners with pots of cash but no respect for football culture and identity, corrupt governing bodies like FIFA, all seater stadia, football supporters being treated worse than terrorists, yes really,

On a personal level it offers a dichotomy, I have this deep love and loyalty to Cardiff City, yet I know that logically, everything stinks I was sitting in the 3 Kings, London, yesterday watching the game and as you do got chatting with Leeds fan, Spurs fan, Chelsea fan about the game as we were getting turned over by our bitter rivals. I literally couldn't really be arsed, as the conversation drifts towards the rebrand and it's total non- sensical nature and how passionate City supporters once were, how they sold out etc etc, it doesn't have to be an accurate assessment but the fact remains that it has effected loyalty and therefore that passion for the club, when that is lost, then following a club becomes just like any other leisure pursuit I.e you do it when you really feel like it, have time for it or can afford it.

The dichotomy of course comes from what happened last week against Norwich, I felt as much tension, nerves and unbelievable relief and elation that I ever have done when we got that win and the 3 points That's really the point with us football supporters for the vast majority, as long as the team is winning all the other stuff vanishes into the shadows. If we had beaten the Jacks yesterday, OGS would have been a legend today, first manager to do the double etc, we would all be saying how we will now survive and looking to renew our STs on Monday, looking to spank Villa Tuesday That, is one thing that will never ever change, the fickleness of football supporters and how dark or bright the world is, depending on how our team win or lose, the moment you lose that effect on your mood, is the time to give up going to games and merely become an acquaintance with football and the team they once supported.
