or am i just being cynical as i cannot see any rhyme or reason to offer a life membership to malky

Well Steve your opinion differs to mine and that's me finished with the trust. Been there since day one and donated hundreds of pounds over the requested membership fees down the years. What they have done us an absolute disgrace. Just put a further wedge in the works.Their existence is to unite and not divide fans.

Didn't Malky say we had to move with the times and how the chairman delivered funds for players...how things change when it suits. He should keep out of the politics of our club, and we should all be behind our new manager and focus on staying up.

Re: " I never thought I would lose Respect for Malky "

Mon Feb 03, 2014 6:19 pm

When I think more about this, this is just another pathetic attempt by the trust to get more numbers to a dying or already dead trust, that does nothing, achieves nothing, backs no one and has now turned fans against Malky by putting him in that position, pathetic by the Trust.

Re: " I never thought I would lose Respect for Malky "

How on earth can you expect Malky to support it at the time???

He's witnessed Tan first hand on many occasion, one slip anything could happen, no budgets allowed, people like the Kazakhstani getting drafted in or even him getting straight sacked... Course he was told to side for Tan or else

He was building great things for this football club and had to focus on doing the best on the football field and what the owners want him to do, football pitch... not the politics, the real aim here should be Steve Borley surely???

Now he's free and can say what he wants
In that situation no manager would hace stood up and simply got away with it bar a handful for god's sake

I will never stop respecting Malky, even if what he says can be waffle he made the people proud and happy every time

The fact that he still went to Bridgend FC that night says it all, a great man.

Fully agree Annis, not once did he say a word when he was here, actually said it was not about the colour and we had to move on . Now it looks as if he is trying to use us fans against Tan, stay away MAlky and let Ole get on with the job.

.Wasn't aware he attended private meetings kind of 2 faced if he did maybe he just can't get over and can't let go off Cardiff it sounds like he can't anyway seems really hurt by all of this needs to try and let go and move on and let people in charge now do there job

I will say a thing for Mackay. He stood up to Tan more than Hammam has done
the man who lately did party political broadcast on Tans behalf. Yet no threads
saying how there can be no more respect for sam hammam? never has a man wore
so many faces

I said at the time the manager shouldn't get involved in the whole issue other than to urge the fans to back the players. He would have been out of a job if he'd spoken out. I don't doubt he would back us privately, as OGS seems to and as any other decent football person would but nobody would put their job on the line these days.

It's like any break up.
As time goes by the human mind needs to make sense of the split and looks for reasons to support it.
News of the other party is seized upon as a negative and helps the person move on and get over the split.

Re: " I never thought I would lose Respect for Malky "

The way I see it both Tan and Malky are f*cking pricks. Tan is quite up front about it so you can take it or leave it so to speak. Malky on the other hand is a two faced sly prick which is a hell of a lot worse in my opinion. He played the fans for fools whilst deflecting from the fact he was shit at his job. Leaking information about the club and using his mates in the media to serve himself.

The trust have fucked up big time here. All they have done is divide the fan base more than it already is.

THIS. Has the brainwashed majority wrapped around his finger because of what he achieved, whereas they don't realise who funded his success. Tan was given no credit at all for funding the Championship win, it wasn't down to pure determination and wanting to win it so bad, we were still shit with a huge amount of money spent with all the other teams being even shitter

He's not a 'real football man' and his views are quite simplistic and down right bold. Was spewing at the sight of him on MOTD, his analysis of games is poor

Re: " I never thought I would lose Respect for Malky "

Mon Feb 03, 2014 7:51 pm

Malky just wanted us all to get unite together in a positive way by getting over the fact we've changed colours, but it's not as simple as that. If you're the manager of a football club you need to stay on the owner's side, 'cause at the end of the day the fans can be happy with you but if the owner isn't then you're out.

as Annis has said, Ole has made his views clear...........dont expect him on a March..or to argue with Tan..but you can say you sympathise and understand the people that love the historic colours........

You lot need to get over it. You're never change back from Red.

You're franchised and it's as simple as that.

You had the chance to demonstrate but truth be told majority went for glory.

It's the majority who should be hanging heads in shame not blaming the best manager you had.

Ole is Tans puppet .

Trust dropped a right clanger but a toothless tiger anyway.

No decent membership and no drive.

Only yourselves to blame .... Enjoy the red

I fully agree, it's an attempt to try and save face after their shambolic attempt after the re-brand happened. If you look at Hull they've protested in the right way about what's happening and are still slightly successful. Whereas the CCST took it lying down, didn't contact the FA at all to ask for consoltation or that, they just done a small poll. It's a PR stunt more than anything, will Malky care about his role when he's paid off by the club and managing another?

Another thing he backed the re-brand like you said, he could have just replied 'I'm a football manager and nothing else' rather than defend the re-brand

As Daya said, probably had too or face wrath of Tan etc

If not go the fans would be peed off, shows commitment to fans if anything that he attended out of his own accord if that's the case.

Lose lose situation for Malky either way.

Jack, Ole has told me straight, we should not accept it and he believes we should continue to fight for it and he says he has told Tan he is wrong.

Annis, the difference is Tan couldn't wait to get rid of Malky and Malky didn't want to go, so of course Malky wouldn't say anything to annoy Tan further. Ole on the other hand was selected by Tan and has a lot more freedom to state his opinion. For now, Tan is kissing Ole's backside, he has to as he has just employed him and wants Ole to prove he made the correct decision to sack Malky. Malky couldn't say one bad thing but Ole can say what he likes at the moment and Tan has no choice but to back him to prove his point. The circumstances with Malky and Ole and their relationship with Tan are completely opposite.

This thread would be more interesting if you changed the name 'Malky Mackay' to Gwyn Davies....

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't he had a similar revelation when it comes to fighting for the identity of our club?

Except one was on the payroll and the other....oh hang on a minute........
