Does say he is slow, but also says he is good in the air and on the ball which suggests he is skilful

Composed and good in their air certainly does not indicate a player is skilful. Its like saying Sol Campbell is skilful, nonsense.

He is slow and ponder-some, slow of foot and slow of mind.

If he's as good as Sol I'll be happy. The twitter above said he's slow, but where's the bits about being clumsy, ponder-some, slow of mind, prone to errors and an awful disciplinary record come from?

As for being loaned out, what season was that? 2011/12?
How many red cards in his career would constitute an awful disciplinary record?

Have you just made a load of stuff up?

I seem to remember that Sevilla were on the bones of their arse when they sold Medel to us last Summer, who wasn't the only Sevilla player shipped out to bring in some much needed revenue!

I can't remember his name, but I also seem to recall them also selling a worldy centre forward around the same time as Medel!

Perhaps they were only too keen to get Cala off their wage bill on this occasion and receive a bit of money to ease their financial burden on this occasion as well!

Yes, Nixon seems to have read more into that twitter than there is. On the other side of the coin a poster on CCMB says that his father in law is a season ticket holder at Sevilla and he describes Cala as quick, intelligent, likes to play the ball out of defence and he will bring the best out of Medel.

You pays yer money and you makes yer choice

I think it's because of the Cornelius fiasco, it has made some cautious and others are using it to slate every possible signing, ignore them :ayatollah:

We probably didn't have time to do a proper transfer so by buying himself out before deadline he was able to sign for us at our leisure. I imagine we'll give him a massive signing on fee to make up what he bought out.

Yes Spanish players are supposed to be on shit money, except for the big boys, that's why Swansea are able to get them on their crappy packages ..........

Done some amateur scouting and can't find anything bad about him, apart from loans he's never been away from Sevilla and even at aek he had his former manager there do hope he settles but he seems well regarded.....

Forgot to mention he's a £2,500,000 rated player who we're getting for free, well worth the risk

It appears we may have had to pay Getafe around £1 million fee for them to pull out of an agreement with Sevilla, to enable us to sign Cala, as well as whatever financial arrangement we came to with Sevilla, in order to get them to cancel his conrtact and allow us to sign him!

Have you f**k you dickhead.

I watch the La Liga religiously, and the guy is a solid sharp CB.

Now do one Troll

Have I f**k what?

If you think hes quick and skillfull then you really need to do something else religiously

Hes been farmed out on loan to rubbish keagues prior to having to play this year due to short numbers. Hes slow, cumbersome prone to errors and has awful discipline.

I guess the Spanish journalists are trolls too then you clueless knob

Sounds a bit like Chico then. ;)

I seem to remember not too long ago, critics saying the same about medel & his discipline & how he was a risky signing!

Cardiff's tangled Cala transfer will see Getafe get £1m for defender who never played for them

Cardiff's tangled Cala transfer will see Getafe get £1m for defender who never played for them

Cardiff will have to pay Getafe £1million after snapping up Spanish defender Cala - even though he's never kicked a ball for the La Liga side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made the 24-year-old, whose full name is Juan Torres Ruiz, his seventh signing as the Bluebirds' new boss on Saturday.

Cala was allowed to transfer even though the domestic transfer window closed at 11pm on Friday night because he was a free agent, having terminated his contract with Sevilla.

But it has now emerged the centre-back had previously reached an agreement with Getafe and been poised to join them on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Cardiff have agreed to pay Getafe £1m to ensure the defender remained a free agent, thus paving the way for his switch to south Wales.
