people like whitts and players like carrick cant win with some people, im not saying whitts is even in the same league as carrick but their work goes unnoticed because they don't always bomb forward and pass ball forward all time, nobody appreciates the art of keeping the ball simple anymore

1. Watch the game again and pay attention,
2. Lie down in a dark room for a while,
3. Take a trip to Specsavers, or
4. Watch a different sport.
I am not saying that Whitts was our outstand performer, but he was far from the poorest. Did you actually see Bellamy, McNaughton and Hudson. It is so sad that it has become fashionable to criticise Whitts and a few others, no matter how they play. Some fans should remember they are football supporters not internet managers ....... simples.
i never said he was our worst player,i said he needs to be dropped,i think we now have better in midfield, and it would certainly make him pick up his game...
No, you did not say that he was our worst player. But you still decided to write a thread saying that he had to be dropped. Why single him out? Because it has become popular to have a go at Whitts and you thought that others would back you up? Or was it because you really know nothing whatsoever about football? Which is it?.

dont let sentiment cloud your judgement...
Get a football brain

We had Bellamy, Mutch, and Noone as the runners and needed someone to retain posession and knit it all together and Whitts did that well on Tuesday.
It takes many types of players to make a team, theres not many players on the planet who can do everything, and being a team thats lower end of the Prem we aint going to attract these perfect all rounders.
They dont grow on trees.

Whitts is a lower end of the league version of Carrick.
Ill take that.
Carrick is described as a unsung hero by many who have won titles and cups with him.

Whitts was good Tuesday, live streams weren't the best but looked comfortable in possession, try to get us up the field a lot of times when he had the ball.. thought it was one of his better performances.

Thought he was better than Bellamy & Medel

Every team needs a player who can keep the ball moving in the midfield. Every team needs a player who can position themselves neatly to cut out passes. Every team needs a dead ball specialist. Whitts is all three of these rolled into one, yes some days he doesn't turn up, but medel (who I think is a good player, and ran it against the jacks) hasn't turned up for weeks. If we're going to push into the top half then we do need someone better but right now we're bottom of the league and we ain't gonna do better than Whitts. He's had several chances to leave us and he didn't. He showed us loyalty and some of our fans could learn a lot from him.

The shit house lazy whitts or the one that runs the show.
The shit house one has been turning up way too much lately.
thankyou.......sorry so many blinkered people just cant see it,they want to give him 90 minutes because of 1 good pass.....bloody hell..

yes lots of blinkered fans, and managers { cos 4 have picked him back to back, and malky signed 3 whole teams and kept picking him }.not to mention football pundits...........im glad im blinkered and not totally blind thanks

Whitts gets slated for being lazy.......I dont think he is........he does drift out of games when we dont play on the front foot.
Cowie has bags of energy and chases everything.......but no skill..........you cant win.
if they had both i would suggest they would be playing for a top 4 club.most sides are made up of combinations of the two.
By the way thanks Whitts for years of loyal service.....lots of goals and lots of great memories.........hope there are a few more to come fella.

As posted on transfer thread.
You can't play whitts and medel in same team.
I know they are different players but at times there is congestion with them.
The congestion also stops the flow of balls forward at pace.
Also 1 less player in front of them to aim for.

thing is people will suggest that he should be dropped for eikrem, but how much have people seen him play exactly?
Whitts was superb on tuesday for me, and was apparently (didnt see the game but listened to talksport) superb away to arsenal as well, where collymore was raving about him.
Anyway, he would be one of the first names on the teamsheet for tomorrow if i was in charge.

Correct and it would be madness to drop Medel as proved in the WHU game. We need Premiership players now not Championship players otherwise we'll drop.

Why would it be madness? Hes chasing shadows at the moment and doesnt look fit enough. Looks like he could do with a rest.
As for West Ham, if you are reffering to their 2nd goal, with a minute left of injury time, that was as a result of chasing the game, we also took a centre half off as they only had 10 men, its not like we are going to start the game with only 1 centre half now is it?

People talk about Whitts being inconsistent I think the last decent game Gary had was the Jacks at home, and he cost 30 times more than Whitts.
