Agree with some of the negative comments on here and there is little doubt that he has gone off the boil a bit. But to blame him for Young's goal is harsh. Medel had every right to anticipate that both Noone and Kev would deal with Young. Noone let him cut in far too easily. Drop him to the bench as someone suggested? And who exactly is going to play his role? Gunners? Do me a favour.

Yes but Noone and Kev hadn't dealt with it and Medel still had the chance to, yet he bottles it big time , as I stated above not only did he not make any attempt to tackle /block Youngs shot , he turned his back on him and shit out big time. !

Overrated,,,& along with Cornelius, Caulker, & Brayford, i can see them all leaving at the end of this season,,,with others to follow their exit.

His ability to read a game and astute passing of the ball without even having time to look up tells me he is class above the rest, his main problem is those around him that cant think the game as quick.

Not disputing the fact that he reads the game well, but there's no excuse whatsoever for the way he defended on youngs goal.

He may be classed as one of our better players , but he also needs to stand up and be counted just like everyone else !!

You have a valid point and in honesty Id say Medel knows what he is capable of and what he his producing, hopefully he'll hurt on his mistakes and learn from them.

Young had struck the ball before he had chance to get a challenge in. He turned his head and put his hands up to orotect his face, when he realised he wasnt gettimg there,, hardly a crime.

Like I said he always looks for the safe predictable pass and has not got the skills to go past anyone.His so called main strength is defending but although he has shown signs of putting in one or two good performances, he has also gone missing for too many games.

Typical Paul if you don't agree with an opinion you get abusive. Yes I do think that medel plays it safe most of the time and opts for the short safe pass. He seems to never take anyone on and when he does actually try and hit a long ball then it is usually intercepted. As I said earlier the modern player takes a lot of notice of stats and although the stats will indicate that medel has a high pass rate they fail to tell the story that the passes are normally of 5 yds in nature and fail to get us going forward.
