Im only on here because Im studying computer science and I'm on the computer often doing work so I can procrastinate by coming on here then get back to work etc. Surely even you understand that studying a computer science degree requires you to be on the computer often right? Im on here learning things in relation to my course. I don't just stay on here. Im on other forums learning etc too.

I just don't see what purpose gaming has. It doesn't pay the bills unless you're a major gamer getting sponsored and it massively cuts into time you could be doing something productive.

Bet you've got 'Second Life' open in another window, now that really is a game for weirdos

It is a hobby. Be it stamp collecting or anything, everyone has to focus their life on something, however trivial. Which is the reason why I don't take the mick out of anyones hobbies as all they are is more original than mine. 'Different' is a good thing.

If all you should be doing is something 'productive', then TV would not exist. The vast majority of our time is spent doing nothing, gaming just fills the gap. Unless all you do, day in day out is play it, which obviously is a horrible life.

Agreed. However, I'm on about the obsessive types. I'd rather be learning and doing something productive now. Used to game when i was younger but see no purpose of it now or how it will benefit me. I do like to unwind and watch tv shows like The Wire etc. and Breaking Bad etc. but thats pretty much it.

I get what you're saying but gaming has become a major issue for quite a lot of people. Theres people who game and have no social skills whatsoever because of their gaming addiction.......how are these people going to get jobs when social interaction and communication are 2 fundamental skills needed in almost every work place?

As a parent of 2 young lads it is quite concerning, my 9 year old wants to come home from school and jump straight on Xbox Live with his school buddys, we have to restrict the amount of time he uses it or im convinced he would do it every day. Luckily he goes to football and karate and swimming ckub so we have balanced his social life for him.

Dont want to be controversial but if any perverted crime is committed, i dont know why the police waste their time with the general public...........just round up the people who play world of warcraft, catholic priests, scout masters, train spotters, stamp collectors, people in the caravan club, public schoolboys,DJ's, 1970s tv presenters, coronation street actors, long distance lorry drivers and anyone with a metal detector. the one who did it is in there somewhere.

I play, Nothing wrong with it (or me), I noticed this is not the 1st time you have slated people who play it. What made you think and post such nonsense? Must be better than trolling the internet all day?

What do you mean by a closet serial killer?

People who can't spell their name correctly and spell it with a K to appear "Out there" and "Interesting.

You people make me sick

I find it highly offensive and inconsiderate to describe vast swathes of people as serial killers and weirdos. Just preposterous.

The OP really needs with dealing with, imagine a budding gamer reading this? Is confidence would be shot to pieces.

Says the guy who tries to bully and belittle people who wear or embrace the red. You criticise someone in this thread for making a generalising statement yet your account is full of them.

"Not the 1st time"

Indicating I have mentioned it before.

Which is a lie.

That simple enough for you to understand.

Serial message board posters are a bit nerdy. :ugeek:

I've never played Warcraft but I did become addicted to a game called AGE OF EMPIRES. I defy anyone with a brain to say that games not the dogs.

Yes it is, thank you for clarifying. Hopefully you won't resort to foul mouthed abuse next time.
