The young player, 21 y.o. and 1.80m tall, is suceeding in Belgian first Division (Jupiler Pro League) in KRC Genk.
Jalle Vossen was born in Bilzen, a small town (population: 30,000) at the East of Belgium and near to Genk. There he began to play football, and soon moved to the young levels of KRC Genk. In 2009-10 season he was on loan in Cercle Brügge, where he scored 7 goals in 22 games. These good numbers earned him to stay as player in KRC Genk first team for the current season 2010-11 and is now when he is breaking all good expectations that had to close it: Jalle Vossen is whopping 17 goals in only 13 games played with the Genk (13 in Jupiler Pro League, 4 in Europe League). But let's go to know what kind of player is Vossen: in my opinion, this belgian is a second striker or attacking midfield (although people there is talk of him as a centre forward, actually he wears number 9 shirt from the Genk). When we see him playing we note that where he hurt is on arrival from second line or emerging from back of a classic number 9. He's a player that shines through his intelligence and his opportunism as well as for its quality and blood cold in defining. Vossen is quick to shoot and always choose the most sensible way, since in the auction are not entertains: he receives and normally at the first touch he shoot according to the occasion (he knows break ball when he need it or placing ball subtly beyond where will not reach any goalkeeper). He not abused never touch, he defines quickly on a first or as much with oriented beforehand. In counterattacks we´ll see him at second-line supporting to create the play, and he only tread box closer to the time for shoot.
It is true that the way of playing current of the KRC Genk also is helping much him achieve these figures. The Genk is betting for style where all the players are well coordinated attacking and constantly moving, opening gaps for second lines, and achieving combinations in one or two touches turning crazy opposing defenses. Vossen waits here as a predator on the edge of the offside or smelling outside the box where go the reject. Vossen may be only a player that is having its moment of glory, or an unrepeatable streak, but we appreciated intelligence in movements and a coldness of face to the framework that he can take much advantage for success in major leagues. Therefore he will be a player which will not bring game in static, nor dribbling or overflow. He will succeed in a big club that play attacking style full team or he can play behind a classic number nine, always as a second striker.
Jelle Vossen has already debuted with the national team of Belgium (2 games) and wore the t-shirt U21 seven times. Just renewed until 2015 with the KRC Genk and his price was recently on EUR 2 million but it is rising hour by hour... I see this player in German Bundesliga soon.
