Yes Cardiff are a bigger club than the Jacks. We have a bigger hardcore fan base and without a doubt a massive glory hunting fan base which is prob twice your Glory hunting fan base.

My opinion

Potentially we could fill a 50,000 seater stadium for 8 home games.
If we got relegated two years later our support would prob be 12-14,000 home crowds.

Potentially you could fill a 25,000 seater stadium for 8 home games.
If you got relegated two years later your support would prob be prob 7-9,000 home crowds.

12-14,000????

We was averaging over 20,000 in championship annis

Yes but if we were relegated and then stayed down for another season, watch the Glory hunters desert like flies. Just my strong opinion, I hope I am not proved right.

I cant see that but maybe im being a bit naive

Our best would be 30k at this time, but would off course not get that week in and out.
Every top club that comes here makes it a sell out 2 weeks before the game, I have 2 brothers who aint even been this season but love the club but have to wait on the waiting list.
A list estimated at 7k,
I dont think there is much difference between us and the fact u are going in to the last day of selling tickets wile we dont even get a chance for the top sides to get to general ssles proves my point

Empty seats away at Man City. A tiny allocation at spurs. 2000 at united in FA Cup yet you could have been allocated 9000.

You are so desperate to try and get one up on your big brother. Get over it CCFC are the biggest in Wales. :ayatollah:

My sides are splitting. Couldnt even sell out home end v Hull plus your euro games have had poor crowds. If the imaginery 7k on waiting list were that keen to watch you'd sell out for cup games.

No wonder you get ridiculed on here.

8,000 actually, as stated in section 2.8.3 of the travel plan section of the stadium expansion planning application

Liverpool Away, Ive been told Swansea have only asked for 1,500 tickets this season?

Re: ' ANYONE CAN NOW BUY A TICKET '

What Swansealad doesn't realise is that we have had 5 away games after Christmas to attend, costing well over £300. im sure the pikeys down the road could afford that,

Re: ' ANYONE CAN NOW BUY A TICKET '

Been playing in the top flight for 3 seasons now, away to man city live on sky as was the 2 games in a week at man u.

And until you are able to compete in a 3rd consecutive Premier League season who can tell how many tickets CCFC would ask for.

You're not comparing like with like.

So what are we comparing? Our home crowds against yours?

Bolllox again about our home Man City games- how many tomes do you have to be told that the game was a sell-out ?

Anyway back to your claims ref your 'brothers'.

Why didn't your 'brothers' go to the Hull or Stoke games then where you had 1500 spare seats ?

As for selling out your away games - well lets have a look at the facts.

Man City 1st game back in the Prem 2698 - now unless man City are suddenly giving 150 extra seats then that's NOT a sell out. FIRST GAME back in the Prem. last year you took 1624 there. official published figures from here

http://www.thefootballforum.net/index.p ... y-support/

SWANSEA: 3000 at Arsenal, 2600 at Aston V, 955 at Everton, 2221 at Fulham, 877 at Liverpool, 1624 at Man C, 1001 at Newcastle, 3209 at
QPR, 2126 at Reading, 2799 at Southampton, 1270 at Stoke, 238 at Sunderland, 1379 at Tottenham, 1433 at WBA, 1895 at West Ham

So don't give us bullshit about selling out, because the truth is, looking at these figures you only sold out at Arsenal, QPR and Southampton of the 15 aways shown elsewhere you can find that you took 1498 to Chelsea , 1868 to Man u, , 541 to Wigan, 698 to Norwich.

I'd expect your away followings have been smaller again this year. So what you are saying is bollox really isn't it.

Re: ' ANYONE CAN NOW BUY A TICKET '

Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:05 pm

But what u dont understand is that we have been doing it for the last 2seasons along with this one.
U are struggling in your first.
Stop making excuses ffs u should have sold out for city last week not on the last day of sales even tho they are on general sales.

You can't hide behingd that forever. What have your aways been this year ?

We'd been in the Championship for 9 years and were still getting far bigger away support than you --50% more in fact. This is from the season you went up I beleive, so comparable as we were similar in the table for most of the year...

AWAY SUPPORT

Rank - Club - Division Season / average per game in 2010/11

1 Leeds United Championship / 3,484
2 Nottingham Forest Championship / 2,035
3 Norwich City Championship / 1,926
4 Leicester City Championship / 1,876
5 Sheffield Wednesday League 1 / 1,722
6 Queens Park Rangers Championship / 1,510
7 Cardiff City Championship / 1,501
8 Southampton League 1 / 1,487
9 Brighton & Hove Albion League 1 / 1,396
10 Huddersfield Town League 1 / 1,310
11 Burnley Championship / 1,293
12 Hull City Championship / 1,264
13 Derby County Championship / 1,256
14 Millwall Championship / 1,201
15 Portsmouth Championship / 1,165
16 Crystal Palace Championship / 1,157
17 Ipswich Town Championship / 1,084
18 Middlesbrough Championship / 1,064
19 Sheffield United Championship / 978
20 Swansea City Championship / 923
21 Doncaster Rovers Championship / 920
22 Port Vale League 2 / 886
23 Reading Championship / 849
24 Barnsley Championship / 813

And this with shitty restrictions too

Re: ' ANYONE CAN NOW BUY A TICKET '

Didnt say our away crowds were sell outs did I.
Our home games are and lets face it u had lots of empty seats at home to city.
Know it may well have been a sell out but that dont mean everyone with season tickets have come.
And lets face it thats even worst as it was a big game.
The truth is u are struggling to sell out ehat is one of your biggest games in your first season.
U can best around the bush all u like thats facts.
Big club yea ok :?

Cardiff is a bigger city population wise and geographically closer to other grounds so it would be perfectly reasonable to expect you to have bigger away attendances.

The fact you'd been in the Championship for 9 years and also had an FA Cup final allowed to the opportunity to cement a large fanbase, something we didn't do due to our rapid rise up the leagues. This is demonstrated that when building began on the Liberty Stadium, we were still in the bottom tier.

As Premier League clubs go we are probably the smallest and I have no issue with that as it makes our achievements all the greater.

But them stats are after your fa cup and play off failure.
And lets face it u had been in the champ for a lot longer wile we had only been there a short time.
Keep trying tho as its amusing reading the pathetic attempts to justify why u are struggling to sell out.

Neither are our tickets on general sale, if you read the op again (or get someone to read it for you) you will see that tickets are now available to all SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AND MEMBERS.

As said above tickets ARE not on general sale st holders and members only, not like your away games where anybody in the country can buy an away ticket for your games.....

FFS - NJ was trying to make out the only reason we were getting far bigger away crowds was due to the fact it was our first season up, and when I showed we were still getting bigger crowds in the Champ after we'd been in it 9 years and you'd just come up you put it down to us being there so long.

You are fuckin priceless.

No-one says we are a big club- we are probably outside the top 20 in the country - however the fact is - we are bigger than you. You tried to say we weren't and your brother couldn't get a ticket, but then couldn't explain why you only had 19000 for Stoke and Hull.

As for us struggling to sell out, well why not go and whinge to another prem club as last year only Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool sold out the full allocation for Man City.

You might also want to ask why you didn't for your 1st game back to the Prem if you think your support is as good as ours.

Not such a big fan base after all.

Not on general sale, its just to season ticket holders?

To be honest the price will put a lot of people off, im going but tbh when I think about how much the day is going to cost me I wish I wasnt.

Let's focus on the main reason, we have a bigger supporter base! Easily resolved!

this! swansea would have been 3 per season ticket holder by now! and selling them over the counter in tescos free with a purchase over 50 quid - subsidised by the local council along with their stadium ;)

Feck me there's some tosh on this thread, mainly by one thick Jack, but there are umpteen reasons why people aren't going to Man City, a lot due to the fact that we've just cleared Xmas and the huge expense that incurred and then some like me, who was desperate to go to the Etihad Stadium and only missed one game away so far this season at Chelsea, refuse to pay the extortionate amount of money they are asking for the tickets, out of principle!

The adult tickets are extortionate enough, but I refuse to pay £49 for me and another £49 for my 19 year old University student son, when we would have charged a similar aged Man City fan around £20 when they came to visit us!

I didn't go to Chelsea for the same reason, so it's not Premier League at any cost for me!
