Investing in some cheap strikers who'll guarantee us goals rather than waste 8m on a crocked 20 year old striker whose not ready for the step up yet, 2.75m on a crocked top half Champ striker. :ayatollah:

With the fixtures weve got we have been left in a position where we have to win pretty much all of our home games except Liverpool and Chelsea, hopefully we can sneak a draw against these two. its not that simple just to sya "well they are the lower half teams" because football doesnt work like that.

We probably wont win all our home games against the lower opposition, we may sneak a win or an unexpected point on one of our more difficult away games but I just feel we have put all our eggs in the wrong basket by not picking up more away points up to Xmas.

I dont think our run of fixtures have helped ie Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Swansea, Spurs, Everton away all one after the other. We were very unlucky on that score.

With that in mind Malky should have targetted the away games against the likes of Villa, Norwich, Stoke and Palace to pick up more than the 2 points that we actually did. Especially the games against Villa and Stoke, who were both awful against on the day but we barely had a go at them chossing instead to play for a nil nil.

This isnt the championship where you can pretty much win the majority of your home games so any away poijt is a good un, youve got to get 15 away points out of the 40 required to stay up away from home.

its a marathon not a sprint as they say but I think that given the journey Malky has not mapped it out well to start with, and OGS faces one hell of a task to get us over the finishing line.

Chris, its never to late until your actually confirmed down
Ole can turn this around, I know he messed up West Ham home, the fixtures that we have at home to come Norwich,Villa,Hull,Fulham,Palace and Stoke we should be capable of beating all them. We also should be able to get a win at Sunderland,WBA and a draw at the Jacks and hopefully a a shock win somewhere  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

City are down...........they are, let's be honest here and it'll be the fault of Mackay for thinking he could get by with a championship squad plus a few expensive signings, and negative tactics.

He should have been sacked a lot earlier.

Or with hindsight he should have had an experienced 'assistant' who had been in PL survival battles before.

Makes me spit blood to see Palace got Pulis when he would have been the obvious choice to have been involved; he would have jumped at the chance.

Rubbish.

Any team is capable of winning 6 from 18 in this league, yourselves included.

Correct any team should be able to win 6 games from 18 games, if we cant believe Ole can do that then we may as well pack it in now and give up.

I would of been very happy with Tony Pulis and he would of jumped at the chance, but Tan decides and so we must all support Ole if we want to stay up.

I reckon we will finish with about 37 points.
Remaining fixtures:
Man City (a) - Man Utd (a) - Spurs (a) - Everton (a) Liverpool (h) Chelsea (h) (Probably Lose all) - Ideal if we can pick up points from these fixtures

Norwich (h) - Swansea (a) - Aston Villa (h) - Hull (h)- West Brom (a) - Crystal Palace (h) - Southampton (a) - Stoke (h)- Sunderland (a) - Newcastle (a) (Should pick some sort of points up in all these games)

personally i think we are heading down. We have some potentially easier games at home next month but look what happened v sunderland and west ham. Palace, fulham and norwich could easily turn us over and they prob will. Tan deserves all he gets, he loses the most, we as fans are more than used to championship football and far lower and worse was the norm for years so no great loss. I dont even care if we go down anymore.......

Re: ' How are Cardiff City going to stay up ? '

cant get my head around the negative posts.....

my first relegation ... we needed to beat Bolton by a margin..and hope Bristol Rovers lost as well...8,000 at NP. all living in hope of a miracle..
almost 20 years later i went to Gillingham on a Tuesday night who were 3rd..we needed a win..and i along with hundreds of City fans still believed we could do it, so we traveled ..Annis has said 500, i honestly think it was more.
We had 26,000 at NP last game of season 1974 needing to beat Palace.....we believed we could do it.

18 f*cking games left, and it seems half our fans have given up...........well im off to the Ethiad to see us win..and if we dont ill dust myself down for Old Trafford...............if we lose faith..the team will

It's not a question of giving up, we'll all be there to the bitter end supporting OGS to the hilt, but given City have won only 4 all season, and have some LBH unwinnable games in the 18 to go, can anyone really see City pulling off 6 wins? I pray and hope that City prove me wrong, I'm just being realistic not pessimistic.

It's now halfway through the transfer window and still no news of a striker signing. I thought Tan had given OGS a war chest. Let's hope he is keeping news of potential signings close to his chest and will unveil them soon. :ayatollah:

Footballers think with their bank accounts Annis.

The same was said about OGS not coming as Fergie would tell him how much of a lunatic Tan is.

As OGS said himself after meeting Tan the reality is sometimes very different to what is portrayed in the media.

The Tan/Malky disruption may well have an influence over any player's decision to come here - what is I think is a potentially bigger factor is that we are Cardiff City - take any one or more from the following:
- newbe's in the Premiership
- currently in the relegation zone
- can't score in a brothel :(
- in Wales
- have a rich owner who backs the manager in the transfer market

I'm not holding out too much expectation for transfers - I still hope that as a team, City can start to play some decent stuff, like we did at Fulham for example where we looked a class outfit. It is as a team that Roy Hodgson turned Fulham round a few years back and got them on a great run when they were down and out.

The players have little involvement with the owner I dont think it has too much bearing to be honest.

What will work against us is being in the bottom 3 and thats thanks to Malky only taking 5 points out of a possible 24 before he was sacked.

I am hoping from a strikers point of view, and boy do we need a good un after Malkys flops, that they may fancy working for OGS.

I say that in hope rather than expectation because as I said most footballers think with their bank account.

All we can do is get fully behind OGS and the team. The season has been a fiasco, but we have to move on. We can't change what happened in the first half of the season.

The bottom half of the table is very tight. A couple of wins, or defeats, can change things around for anybody.

Somebody always has a bad run, and slips into trouble late on. Southampton perhaps!

My gut feeling is still that we will go down, but where there's life there's hope! Like I said, all we can do is get behind the manager and players.

If we go down, so be it. That's football.

The worst thing that can happen to Cardiff City has already happened, the 're-branding'. Anything else now is a bonus! :ayatollah:

Keep the faith!
